[Q] Help with IWT ROM on B92M - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Xda,
I'm having an issue when installing IWT rom on my B92M 1GB 2012 version.
I had another rom with 4.1.2 from this forum. And my steps were:
1.) First i have flashed the phone with the 4.1.2 stock rom (b92m411GB.zip from the forum)- via flashtool - Download mode not Firmware upgrade(doesn't work with upgrade)
2.) All good. The rom installed, booted, everything seems to work.
3.) Installed the archive that roots the device from recovery.
4.) Then i have copied IWT UNIVERSAL BASIC ROM FOR 2012 MODELS on my card and installed it via recovery. (wipe dalvik and factory reset after that)
5.) All good. The rom installed, booted, everything seems to work well.
BUT
Then i have copied the IWT ROM VERSION 1.3.1 FOR 1GB 2012 MODELS on the external card and try to install this one via RECOVERY, the phone updates and when i reboot the phone freezes at the IWT boot screen (i have waited almost 2-3 minutes and the phone was vibrating from 2 and 2 seconds regularly - this happened once and when i saw nothing happens so i removed the battery). The thing is that he freezes at boot after update.
My questions are:
1. Are those the right steps to update to this rom?
2. Can anyone make a detailed step-by-step guide or a video tutorial (this would solve many other's problems)
3. Now i'm running b92m411GB.zip (stock) with IWT UNIVERSAL BASIC ROM FOR 2012 MODELS update. i have also installed on the phone OTA UPDATE. And it says there are no updates for this rom. Where i'm mistaking?
(With this version that i use now, wifi works, Bt also, i didn't have time to test the GPS)
4. What is the last IWT rom last version? Where can i find it?
Thank you in advance!

No one can help?
Anyone any ideeas?

I have found a solution
1. First of all you need to install via flash tool the clean rom for B92M
2. Then via recovery install: iwtv1-1.zip
3. Boot the system
4. Reboot in recovery and install: iwtv1-2.zip
5. Boot the system again
6. After boot and system started, reboot again in recovery
7. Now install the last archive from recovery also: iwtv1.3.1.zip
8. After it finishes you should be able to boot in system (IWT 1.3.1).
9. After it started you can now install the 1.4. via OTA updater
REMEMBER
After every update of system you should restart the system and let it boot in system.

[Q] Flashing Problems

Hi
I have just Rooted my Samsung GS2 everything was going OK. Then through ROM Manager Premium I tried to Install Cyanogen Mod 7.10 Stable but it keeps failing .
Has anyone any helpful Tips . I am a Newbie. Is Rom Manager not suitable for Samsung GS2 . Thanks in anticipation .
Its stated in the Q&A thread,
atinm said:
Q: How do I install this?
A:
Latest version: http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=galaxys2 (for when nightlies are working normally)
Check the md5sum if you want to be sure that the download worked (different OSes have different programs that do md5, on ubuntu it is md5sum that you run against the zip you download and compare to the md5sum number shown on the download website). ROMManager does this automatically for ROMs you download via ROMManager.
- First time flashing CM 7 to your Galaxy S2 (or coming from another ROM)?
Only for the International version of the Galaxy S2, US versions like the AT&T have their own device specific builds.
Note: sometimes you need to flash twice back to back without a reboot in the middle. The install should take a little time, if it happens very quickly, flash again.
Install via ClockworkMod (do not use ROMManager for initial install):
Make sure you're running a rooted device.
Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118693)
Do a Nandroid backup!
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition) - do it for real.
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery.
Do not reboot! We mean it - do nothing except choose zip and continue next step (if you come back to us with permission issues in install, we will know you did not read the directions and will call you an idiot). If it just plain hangs, reboot directly back into ClockworkMod recovery and continue at the next step.
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery, again (due to a bug in the install).
Reboot
Install the Google Addon through ROMManager which is easiest, but you can
download the gapps.zip and install via ClockworkMod recovery instead.

Can't isntall gapps after ICS installation

I've just installed ICS on my legend following this procedure:
- unbranded it using a gold card
- downgrade version to root it
- launch step 1 of rooting (works fine at first attempt)
- launch step 2 of rooting (can't find device at first attemp, so reconnect it, launch adb device, find the device and perform it)
Then wipe and instead select rootedupdate.zip I've selected update.zip that was the file containg the ICS rom downloaded here in forum. And I think this could be part of the problem. (Is the phone rooted anyway?)
ICS was succesfully installed and working but as I try to install google apps with ROM manager is not working, it reboot the phone, see the screen with the phone and the question mark.
I also tryed to instal google paly downloading the package, installation works but as I open the app it closes.
Do you have any suggestion? Do I have to perform the rooting procedure again or what?
Thanks
I just tried to instal gapps with recovery mode, renaming file "update.zip" and it said that installation was accomplished, but I see no differences. And the Google Play still have the same behaviour
I think I can't install any rom. Tryed with this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531222&highlight=lost
and always get phone+? icon after reboot and nothing happend
On the terminal emulator I have $ sign instead #. So isn't it rooted right? And can't flash ROM for that reason?
Do I have to do the root procedure again? Can I do it with ICS or do I have to perform downgrade again?

[Q] xperia ray : how to load any rom higher than 4.0.4

hi,
here's the steps I did :
1) I had on phone last official sony android firmware 4.0.4 version.
2) rooted the phone and unlocked the phone : ok
3) tried to load custom rom ultimate hd but no success, phone was blocked on the initial logo
4) downloaded official sony emma tool in order to load the original firmware:
the only option was android 2.3.6 and I was able to load it and phone worked again;
5) rooted again the phone,
6) now pc companion pops up with message of possible update to 4.0.4; try to do it but
message error got, update is not possible due to modified firmware.
here's my question : how I can got again android 4.x in general starting from android 2.3.6?
Never mind is not the official one, I 'm interested to any rom 4.x (working ok of course, maybe optimax)
that can be downloaded on the phone.
Is it possible to have all the steps in detail? I'm not so familiar with flashtool.
Thanks/andropagp

- make sure you have installed the android sdk (just press install packages) & install flashtool allways IN main drive (not in subfolder) also install the proper drivers from drivers folder of flashtool install.
how to get to official 4.0.4 ROM using flashtool (only way after bl unlock..) (dl & good explanation there)
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Andro...y-Bean-ICS-Ice-Cream-Sandwich-and/td-p/154389
how to install custom ROM: 1st check if you need a custom kernel --> b)
a) no custom kernel need (& you still have stock kernel FROM SONY ICS UPDATE!)
- install CWM recovery by x-parts tool found in xperia arc apps thread
- place rom & other needed files (maybe gapps) on SD
- boot to CWM. select wipe data/ factory reset.
- install ROM as mentioned on thread.
- boot.
b) if you use a custom kernel CWM is mostly inside. so just press vol down contunesly on boot screen (on very 1st)
- place rom & other needed files (maybe gapps) on SD
- boot to CWM. select wipe data/ factory reset.
- install ROM as mentioned on thread.
- boot

[Q] No ROMs Work (Including Stock Firmware) except for CM which data DNE

I have a Sprint Galaxy Note 3.
As of yesterday it was functioning perfectly with a rooted stock Android 5.0 I tried to put a custom rom on it so I could use xposed and it has been borked ever since, I will list the steps I took and everything I've tried and their results below:
(I did full wipes in between each different flash)
1. Flashed TWRP with Odin (worked)
2. Flashed CyanogenMod with TWRP (worked)
3. Booted into CM to discover I could not get any data connection (could still make calls)
3. Booted to TWRP and flashed DarkLord rom (said there were errors [writing symlinks], caused boot loop)
4. Tried step 3 with Norma rom, CivZ rom, and a Stock Rooted rom (all same results of boot loop)
5. Booted to download mode and tried to flash samsung stock kitkat (just said failed)
6. Booted to download mode and tried to flash samsung stock lolipop (failed)
7. Booted back to TWRP and flashed CM again (this time not only no data, but no calls either)
Seems like maybe one of the issues may be the abundance of region codes and whatnot for all of these roms (including samsung official) and none of them seem to be for USA.
Does anyone have any suggestions or help to offer that I haven't already tried? I don't care what the rom is at this point, I just need a working phone that makes calls and has data as I'm out of town away from family and need to be in touch.
That said, obviously my preference would be to have a rooted KitKat rom so I can install xposed, or a rooted lolipop that isn't a samsung ART (for the same reason), but I'll genuinely be happy with anything that works.
I could be wrong, but is it maybe best to stick with CM simply because it's the only thing that will boot right now? If so how would I go about solving the non existence of a network connection.
I am also using Ting as a provider and they hop off Sprint networks. I had full bars of signal in this location the entire time when I was stock. Thanks in advance!

1. Power off your phone completely
2. Boot into download mode (power + volume down button - then press volume up button to get into download)
3. Use Odin to flash this, which is the tar for OC5 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/development/romodin-t3095540
4. Reboot into STOCK recovery and factory default reset. If you skip this step, you will have issues
5. Once booted into OS, power off again and re-do step # 2 to get into download mode
6. Use Odin to flash TWRP
7. Once complete, immediately reboot into TWRP, or you will be dumped into stock recovery next time you try to get into recovery. I've done it this way since MJ4 and never had an issue.
8. Wipe everything including internal storage - NOT your external SD
9. Install ROM of your choice; I would recommend this one which is deodex and will allow you to install Xposed - http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/development/rom-t3132662
10. Profit
Good luck!

Thank you so much for such a quick response! I'm downloading the file now and will be trying this as soon as it's completed. Also the rom you recommended was one I tried that failed, but hopefully with your extra steps it will work because it looks exactly like what I'm looking for.
UPDATE:
That worked fantastic @rpenrod23 thank you so much! Where is your donate button?

SD card problems after recent xiaomi.eu update // echo during calls while on speaker

Hello everyone,
I have a Mi 8 Lite running MIUI 20.1.21v10-11 and I noticed today that I can't delete or move files in "Files" - the MIUI file manager. I noticed some time ago that my permissions were reset or something because some apps were asking about permissions for this or that. How should I go about fixing this? Is it an issue with permissions or is it an issue with my SD card. I tried downloading a few times via Chrome the update on my phone but the phone would freeze up during the download and I would have to reboot.
Next issue is that for a few updates now, if I put the call on speaker or I use my bluetooth headphones, people say that can hear themselves. I've read up that several people had problems with this but I still don't know what the real issue is and how to go about fixing this issue. I did not have this problem before or when I first bought the phone so it can't be a hardware problem, right?

Try to install the latest rom from here.
Be carefull. Install the rom using your recovery. I recomend pith black recovery latest version you can get it from here : https://www.google.com/amp/s/forum....nt/recovery-fork-twrp-mi-8-lite-t3965708/amp/
That recovery support ota update.
Don't wipe anythng if you are on a stock rom. Just flash the ZIP update .
If you want to root your phone.. After flashing the rom..
Don t flash yet magisc. Boot the phone. Let the phone finish the update. Then boot again recovery. Flash magisc 20.3 and reboot your phone. Wait for 2-3 minutes. It won't boot. Don't worry go again at recovery and format your data. At the wipe tab tap format data. After that go and reboot your device. It will Take a while so be patient. When the phone boot's finish the setup wizard and Then you can see the magisc îs installed and you got root. Read carefully. And fallow the steps i said. Don't miss something. Don't try to install the rom with mi flash tool. It's. A recovery rom. Not fast boot rom. Good luck, ?
