Has only bought the slimt glass screen protecter? For some reason every time I flash cyan roms the captive buttons dont function but when I use stock Rom it works perfectly.

It's because the kernels used for them don't have the sensitivity fix that HTC put out for the buttons.

My phones lights are all on, any reason why it only happens with HTC builds.

Stock rom or are you rooted?

Rooted , if I am on akop or CM9/10 I have no issue

Most of htc sense roms have tweaks which you can dim the capacitive buttons or even turn them off completely

Does anyone else notice the odd sound the HTC One uses when touch sounds are enabled. Not sure if the default sound is supposed to sound like a faint glass tap so wanted to get anyone's feedback. What does your touch sound sound like?

Yes mine is the same.

Perhaps it's the standard sound. Kind of a strange selection, don't you think?

I actually enjoy the touch sounds.. I've been through many phones and this is the only phone with which I have left that option on.

How do I get them to light up? I can't find anything in the settings
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
They should automatically light up.
They do sometimes but like right now there not? There off and on....

If you're in a bright room or outside and it's sunny they won't light up. If you're in a dark room or outside and it's dark they should light up. If they are not then I recommend you reset your phone, if it's not ok after reset then you should return the phone and try another one.
Ok I'll keep an eye on it thank you for the help

Cover your light sensor in the top left to test if the lights are working

HTC is notorious for having poor performance of those lights on their phones. The Thunderbolt did the same thing, but since the sensor was on top of a black background, a good trick was to cover the sensor with electrical tape so the lights would stay on all the time.
They never seem to come on when they should and they always seem to be on when it's not needed. :silly:
I prefer to use a screen protector on my Smartphones. But with the Z Ultra when using a Brando protector I was surprised that my new Sony ES22 stylus did not work well at all. The sensitivity seems to be reduced. Would be good to hear about your experience with stylus input for hand written input. Thanks in advance.

Good suggestion. Pencil input works as normal so the issue may be with the stylus. Strange.
Edit - changed screen protector and input sensitivity improved so perhaps the stylus is designed to be used without a screen protector.

Even with my matte screen protector, I get ghost touches when a little of my finger sweat/dirt is on the screen. Does this occur with the thicker tempered glass screen protectors as well?
I have a normal screen protector (HD as they call it) and yeah i have that problem. The touch is just too sensitive

I had that problem on the normal one too so i switched to the thicker antiglare one....still getting it! Thinking of switching over to the even thicker glass screen protector
This is actually because of the pencil/pen input i think. I can live with it though. Doesn't bug me too much. Might get better with further updates, who knows right?

If you are rooted you can change the screen sensitivity, you will have to search for the thread though, either in the ZU or Z1 sections
