My A116 is now four days old , and I got only one fix till now that also with wifi on. I tried many times mostly for short spans like two to five minutes. But I am getting only one or two satellites. Is this a known issue ? My phone is already running 4.2.1 so I am totally lost. Do yo guys have any suggestions, can you share your experiences ?

Did you buy A116 with by default 4.2.1 ?
Anyway, try this. It may work for you.
Go to setting, location access, turn GPS satellites on, Check GPS EPO Assistance, Check A-GPS, Go to EPO settings, Check Auto download. After download complete, Reboot.

Yes I bought the phone started up, and voila its 4.2.1
I am trying your suggestion ( thanks I did not know the existence of EPO !? ) now.

In your 4.2.1 Canvas HD are you facing any problem with Automatic Brightness ? I mean in auto brightness mode display's brightness repeatedly changed. I upgraded 4.2.1 from home. Can you please share screen shot of "About Phone" ? If you are not sure how to take screen shot, just press Volume Down + Power button together. If you still unable to so so, please just let me know Baseband version, Kernel version, Buid number and Custom buid version.
Reason for asking for this is, I want to match downloaded details with original details. Looking forward the details.

I took the screenshot following your method. Then I was about to post but I realized that my phone is only 4.1.2 not 4.2.1. I am sorry that I have misinformed you.

I am still unable to lock on to GPS apart from 1st fix.
What works for me:
1. If i switch off phone and take out battery for 30-40 seconds, the first fix is quick and almost immediate. After that it doesnt lock for 2nd/3rd or any no. of times.
2. I can get a fix by apps which download 'xtra AGPS data', but with EPO switched off. The method is unreliable and inconsistent.
3. Have tried everything for gps config to various settings in engineer mode.
4. Presently i am on stark HD mod, Initially it worked for 5-6 times, but now, i can no longer get a fix.
Please guys, i need a permanent solution.

I have an annoying issue with my phone. It's a Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman (WT19i) and my ROM is the one from FreeXperia - CM9.
I use several messaging apps like LINE™, Viber, Whatsapp, etc. So, when I flashed the ROM 5 days ago it was working fine, the wifi was only turning off when I did switch it off and it was ok for me. But now sometimes when I wake up my device I can see it turns off Wifi when it goes deep sleep, even whether I have the always on option on always or never (wifi advanced settings).
If anyone knows what's going on or has an idea for a solution please answer my thread.

select always option in wifi advance option and if u r still facing the same problem try to flash latest freexperia for u r device may be problem will b solved in the updated rom

I have this issue: I'm running on CM10, build 2012-08-18 and I would to like to upgrade to latest build. When I install CM10 nightly (or anything build) over the original build and then I make a call I don't hear anything :crying:
OK, then I make full wipe and voila, it works! OK, I wait when applications restore from google account but they don;t restore all settings (for example Touchdown), so I restore Apps/Data/Both via MyBackup Restore and... no sound when make call :crying::crying:
Long story short: on CM10 I cannot restore anything else I lost sound when callind (no ringtone but don't hear second side).
This is unpleasant because restoring system get a lot of time.
Any ideas?
P.S. More into about my phone: flashed original ROM via ODIN, then root and recovery, then CM10. No Jelly Bean leaked ROMs were installed after flashing original ROM (ICS).

Try flashing modems. If it dont work, send to technical assistence.

I don't even have lockcreen enabled and I don't see any sound settings there.
I got the same problem on cm10.1 2012-01-03 nightly, this is a serious problem that they need to solve..

Did you mean 2013-01-03? Me too but for me helped enabling repro during the call and then disabling it and then all works well
It is a really really annoying bug. A system sound has to be made first - the lock screen does that IF you have sound on. If you make a call before doing this, forget about any sound.
I agree it is a pain in the arse and if I knew how to fix it I would. You can use Tasker to reset the volume, play a sound, then reset volume, but it is annoying. Only thing stopping me switching over.

Don't know if this helps someone now, but i had this problem recently on two different phones. Two weeks ago with my HTC One M7 and today with my girlfriends SGS3 i9305. with HTC i didn't figured out back then what was the problem, but i fixed it somehow after re-flashing/re-installing .. but now i think i know what was the problem. With both phones in-call sound/mic disappeared for no reason. what i noticed in both cases problem was restoring my setting from Google account. with HTC i did not give attention to that, i was happy that it worked after some 5h of trying different things. But now with SGS3 after many attempts i tried without Google restore and voila ... works just fine. After this i connected phone to Google account, but did not restored settings.
I rad many forums and saw that in case of SGS3 it can be hardware problem..but in my case I've tried VIBER and everything was working good. so it was not mic/earpiece problem for sure.
Hope someone finds this useful.

how to fix cherry mobile flare gyro problem
Step 1: Download the GPS Status and Toolbox app from the official Google Play store.
Step 2: Once it’s installed, open the app. Make sure that you’re connected to a WiFi hotspot and that your GPS is on. Make sure you can pick up the GPS signal. Go outside if you have to.
Step 3: If you have a strong enough GPS connection, the app should populate with various location and positioning info. Wait for that info to populate before proceeding to Step 4.
Step 4: Make sure the phone is on a level surface and is laying perfectly flat. Keep in mind that the camera and speaker grill sticks out a bit on the back, preventing the phone from laying perfectly flat. Lay it in such a way that the camera and speaker grill don’t get in the way.
Step 5. Press the Menu button and go to Tools > Calibrate pitch and roll.
Step 6: And you’re done! Test the gyro by playing a game of Temple Run or something.

can somebody help me how to unbrick cherry mobile flare? my phone doesnt turn on and charge but when you plugged it on the computer, the device is read but then it shows error maybe it needs the driver. please help me.. i brought it to the service center and they said it takes the minimum of 2 to 3 weeks to repair my phone and the maximum of 2 months.. but it is not guaranteed that my phone is repaired.

help...i've rooted my cm flare and last night as i was moving items/files from rom to sd card(my micro sd is not inserted) so it means in my phone memory, system ui not responding displays.i clicked ok and it keeps on going displaying system ui not responding.i removed the battery and it powers up and charges but after the cm animation and walking/running android character there is nothing in the display.connecting it to laptop just recogniced under devices and printer but no access to the files in phone nor memory card files.what to do?thanks..

I have A116, which behaving bit weird. 6 months back, while on charging, it started operating on its own, when I removed it from charging, it stopped. While on charging with that particular charger, issue was there. I changed the charger, everything was OK. Recently, on a ugly morning, I answered a call at 5 am and around 6 am I tried to make a call and found that screen is absolutely irresponsive. Sometime later it unlocked on its own, started operating on its own, like opening any random app or web or anything and does some random operation. Tried to power reset the phone half a dozen time no go, removed both SIM and memory card. still the same. This has completely wiped out my phone data (phone book, all SMS, photo, mp3's video's), factory reset in other words (on its own). I was told its battery issue, changed that too. no go. . This is happening not always, it happens for a while and then behaves normal and after 5 minutes old story repeats.
The best part it had wiped out avast anti-virus too....
Any one heard of this..? Any solution without going to service center..?

Thats a big problem i think you have installed some malicious app with root permission or this is the problem with your TP. I think there might have been a problem while your TP would have been updated.
Solution:-
1. Go to micromax service center and tell them ur problem.
2. Try to flash stock rom again with sp flash tools.
3. If you are already on 4.1 than update to 4.2 else do vice versa.
Important:-TP means Touch Panel

HI, i just hated to go to their service center. so checking any option. will try to flash the rom..in-between by screen is broken as well.

the problem you are reporting is common in most canvas phones with older firmware. update the firmware

I faced a similar problem some time back.
I visited the service center in Azadpur(or nearby Azadpur Metro station, do not remember the exact address) and they fixed it in 30 minutes of wait time. Try visiting their service center..I had stock ROM back then though..!!

you got the same old stock firmware alright. but it's the newer one. Micromax has updated their stock rom many times since android 4.1
v1 - Android 4.1.2 Initial version. Lots of bugs. You could install Flipboard app and see the entire device bricked.
v2 - Android 4.1.2 Update. Flipboard bug fixed. Yet there was another issue, which caused the touch pad to malfunction while charging. other bugs include the app storage issue. you can't install apps in external sd card and storage space was very small.
v3 - Android 4.2.1. TouchPad issue was fixed. Apps can be installed on external sd card. OTA firmware update support was added but it doesn't work.
v4 - Android 4.2.1 Update - New Camera App. OTA issue was never fixed.
v5 - the newest firmware from micromax which was launched with Micromax A116i. No bugs so far.
Micromax service center must have updated your firmware to Android 4.2.1. version 3
Ur problem was because of charging...
Voltage problem not a software problem...
Use ur own charger without any extension or any external supply...
U will not face any issue like this...

I tried to disable wifi power safe mode *#1111# then options > wifi , scroll down to end and choose off
Now it alitle bit lagging and diconnecting from past
But still switch off when switch screen off
