Am i missing something? The link in the first post leads to a blog full of oc mods for the tab?
Edit: I stand corrected, a small amount of digging around the blog turned this up;

Guess you cant just have everything handed to you on a silver platter.

I found (and used) ODIN stock ROM at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136958&highlight=loop (in Post #2 of thread)
This is for 7105 not for 7510 model unfortunately.

Doesn't need to, the method of flashing is irrelevant. The outcome is what matters.
well if you can only go as far as the download system menu it kind of does, I guess there is a way to push the zip to the internal SD using ADB but I'm not that desperate yet
The ODIN would be much nicer to have.

Are you referring to the link in post #7? I have the 16 GB WiFi model, which I think is 7510 (http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab/GT-P7510UWYXAB), and I ODIN'd that ROM with no problem.
Not sure what 7105 refers to.

If you're going to use Rom Manager, do not use Clockwork Recovery. Rom Manager tends to break CW & can also cause bootloops. So you either use one or the other

Everything you need to know is in Stickies. If you're expecting easy/to be spoonfed it ain't gonna happen.
If you start messing with your phone before you understand what it is you're doing I can almost guarantee you'll soft brick your phone & potentially be without it for a day or two until you figure out how to fix it. And worse case you may hard brick it.
So...Start reading.

I have an at&t s2 I777.....it is rooted one i guess (it was gifted)..
I want the ICS on it...and believe me i know nothing about how to get it....
i googled and found many people explaining the process for a windows PC version.
I have a mac and if some one would please care to explain (step-by-step is much appreciated)..i attach the present status of the I777...
Thanks....
Senior members will probably scream SEARCH at you 'til blue in the face, so I'll throw you a bone since I've been stalking for far too long.
This (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878686) is a guide to Heimdall (basically Odin for Mac) find a kernal to flash (I started with Siyah http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19650906&postcount=1) and follow the Heimdall guide to flash to your GS2. Next you can download any ICS Rom (I've been using ShoStock2 since version 1.1) to your phone and flash the zip using CWM (there are a plethora of guides on this should you need it, so search.)
Check out my thread, no need for a computer to flash the update
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722064
I would suggest you follow the guide linked in my signature. It has instructions for using heimdall with the mac.
Do *not* install Siyah 3.4 on your phone if you are running Gingerbread stock or modified firmware. You can not use an ICS kernel with a Gingerbread system.
If you have any questions or problems as you work through the guide, feel free to post your questions in that thread.
Edit: if you already have ClockworkMod Recovery on the phone, then you can just download the firmware distribution you want and flash it in recovery.

Hello XDA Community!
I think this is my first post so yay! That being aside, I've recently bought an Alcatel Pop 4s ( MT6755M processor, 2gb of RAM) and I can't seem to find any guides on the internet nor on xda to root or flash a custom recovery on this device, I can't find any files at all, I've read guides of how to compile TWRP to your device but they all seem to require custom roms so I can't figure it out. I've also tried rooting the device with KingoRoot and pretty much every other one click root app and none of them worked.
I really would appreciate if someone could help me find a guide or a custom recovery/root method that works!
Cheers,
Kamefrede

Hello there welcome to XDA .
Alcatel devices aren't really popular here on XDA unless someone like me or some other dev gets their hands on one. TWRP doesn't require any custom ROMs to build it (technically it does but it's not the flashing kind). If you had root then you could've provided your boot.img and recovery.img and I would've built TWRP for you.
There may be another way to backup your stock firmware in the event you brick in the future you can restore. For now, know that something is being worked on although I don't have this device.
