I want to start developing a custom rom(or at least to try).But firstly I don't know how to setup git and python on ubuntu.I read on google that I need that files.And when I set them up,how can I get the source code?If you know,please help.and i dont know about git to so plzz guys help me:good:

hello to everyone... is there any forum for noobies to ask for how to develop a custom ROM? I have download all the packages (SDK, ECLIPSE, JAVA, thats all i think) and i want to help u to improve or make my own custom ROM i dont know if this is the wright place to ask thank u for your time i have X10mini and i try every ROM in here and kernels
i try to google it or search in here but i havent linux pc or ubuntu so i will very thankfull if there is any guide for windows platform step by step which use eclipse and SDK
If you have no knowledge, you should forget about it. If you want to build from source you need to know how linux work and how to debug the most common errors. It's really hard to develop something original right now.
thank u for the reply... well... im not such interesting to built my rom as to improve an existing rom to working correctly... i try the sdk and eclipse but i dont unterstand many things maybe because im new in town... now im looking on cygwin and kitchen ... it seems more familiar and easy but is it for sony ericsson for example or im losing time... thank u for your time

hi guys.. so here is my little problem..
i want to try and port cwm recovery to my unsuported device BUT i do NOT want to have to sync the whole CM Repo to acomplish building just the recovery..
is there a way to sync just the repo for compiling cwm recovery as i at the moment dont plan on building a whole cyanogenmod rom.
if there is a way could someone point me in the right direction or maybe give me a helping hand?
P.S i have searched and read alot on here an the rest of the web but cannot find an accurate answer for my question.

What the code to use local_manifest.xml i creat?
(I find it "repo init -m .repo/local_manifests/local_manifest.xml"
But some threads i read they replace "-m" by "-u" ?!?)

The seconds i want ask is when i Emulator ubuntu on window,does i need "install ubuntu" ? Or i just choose "try ubuntu" for Build Rom.
