Could someone clarify this for me:
Is it true that in order to install a custom recovery the XTZ needs to have its bootloader unlocked?
I installed custom recovery on my XZ phone alright without having to unlock the bootloader....

So you unrooted it with a custom recovery and then relocked your boot loader? Or did you just have root. Are you trying to reroot?

the only way to install recovery is by unlocking the bootloader, no way around it

So when I unlock the bootloader again, I would have to flash TWRP/CWM, then flash a ROM in order to get an OS back?
That's it

I have a rooted HTC One with a locked bootloader that I would like to unroot back to stock. I had TWRP as a custom recovery before I relocked the bootloader, but cannot use that now because of my locked bootloader. If I unlock the bootloader again, would I have any form of recovery or a ROM?

Unrooting your device doesn't lock the bootloader. Unless you went into developer options and toggeled OEM unlocking off.

To unlock BL, you need to permit it in the dev menu and run a fastboot commmand. Are you sure TWRP avoid you to do that?
Hello
I recently flashed a custom recovery in my phone without unlocking the boatloader because I had no idea that boatloader has to be unlocked in the first place. Now I don't have a PC but is it possible to unlock boatloader with terminal emulator? If yes please help me with the code.
My device: Infinix Hot 3 x554
Version: 5.1
Kernel Version: 3.10.72+
Build Number: x554-W90918-A2-L-20160607
I used kingroot to root the device.
Thank you

I think your bootloader is already unlocked when you root your android using kingroot and custom recovery can only flashed if bootloader is unlocked.

No I can't boot to TWRP
Unless you can specifically on that device (would be in your devices Q/A or help section) then no. Most of the time, the bootloader can only be unlocked in fastboot mode by fastboot oem unlock or through a 3rd party application (ie HTC). Sorry mate.
