Anyone know of a fix for WiFi authentication error? I know the s4's were having some issues , I am good at home but can't connect to my work internet. It is open just have to accept on there home page.It never can connect so you can get to there accept page. I noticed that there was a whole page of complaints on the Verizon thread about this, but I didn't see a solution. I even switched back to a stock ROM and had the same issue. Has anyone else encountered this?
Yes. No matter what tw ROM I use I can not connect to my work WiFi, it says there is an authentication error. I installed CM ROM and it works.

Would be interesting to see if this was addressed in the recent update.
I have found all recent aosp roms I've tried, including the GE roms have this wifi issue fixed. But I haven't found a single Touchwiz rom that can authenticate on my work wifi. I would say hopefully the TW update took care of the issue, but coming from a Gnex I prefer the aosp. I just would like to see the IR remote, TW camera, and gallery with google plus photos all working on aosp as well as they do on TW. Then I would never look back!

Ever since upgrading to 2.2 I have lost the ability to connect to my schools WPA2-Enterprise network. I've searched and found that this was an issue introduced in 2.2 (I could connect fine on 2.1) and has been fixed in 2.3. I've tried all the solutions I've found online and zero have worked. These include using apps from the market such as Wifi Advanced Configuring and replacing the wpa_supplicant file in /system/bin/ with the version from 2.1
The werid thing is, after completely wiping and flashing a new rom, it will connect fine the first time but not after that so im thinking it has something to do with certificate/credential storage?
The network I'm trying to connect to is WPA2-Enterprise, authenticated via PEAP and MSCHAPV2
Can anyone point me in the right direction? What system files might affect this? Can I try replacing them from a 2.3 build?
Any ideas/input would be appreciated
Ummm.....I connect the same exact way with the same exact settings at my job and I haven't experinced any issues while running 2.2. Which rom are you using?

Its happend on all of the 2.2 roms I've tried, (AOSP, MIUI, CM6, TW).
I've had the same issue. The odd thing is that some days I actually get it to link up on the first try to the same router, but other days I do all the various steps that you can find while googling for answers and never get to successfully connect.
Almost makes going back to 2.1 seem worthwhile...
Flashed a new rom today and connected to the network fine first try like usual. Cycled wifi and it wont connect again.
Anyone know where it stores wifi credentials? I'm thinking if I can clear them each time I want to connect it should work...
I'm in the same boat...although, my thread is on the second page with no replies. I am also unable to connect to enterprise wifi on campus...drives me nuts. I've spent countless hours trying to figure this out. I had no problems with enterprise wifi on 2.1...I wonder which file I could flash from 2.1 to make it work, I'm sure someone knows.

Are you saying my school restricts Android 2.2 users from using thier wifi while allowing 2.1 users to use it? I'm not sure what you mean...
Im saying maybe they needed more bandwidth so they put a block/allow list on their wifi. Nothing to do with your froyo. Or android. Could be they are ALLOWING ONLY KNOWN IP ADDRESSES now..(Since you dont know what an allow list is) Happened to me at work. And i dont have 3g at work so it sucks.
Only other explanation is that you screwed up during flashing. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. I mean.......my wifi works just fine and ive flashed every rom in the dev section...currently on ec01 and wifi wpa2/enterprise is flawlessly working.

I'm fairly certain its not either of these issues, considering after I flash a rom I can connect to my schools network fine the first time. Its the subsequent connections that are giving me issues.
Here's a link to the issue on googles open source android project.
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=1386
It basically says that it was an issue not present in 2.1, introduced in 2.2 and fixed in 2.3. I'm wondering if anyone knows what system files might affect this (wifi driver, certificates, deeper kernel issues?) and if anyone can point me in the right direction so I can start trying to pull files from other builds and see if it fixes my issues. I'm a complete noob but willing to give it a shot.
Can anyone let me know if ED01 or the official froyo rom has a fix for this wifi problem..??

As I'm sure you know by now, none of the froyo updates fix the wifi problem. However, I can report flashing JT's CM7 build did fix the issue and it truly is an awesome rom if you can stand a few features missing.
As of now, there seems to be no fix for froyo builds

That is nothing short of a disappointment...until there is a fix, I'll just have to keep a close eye on my data usage.
I am having same sorts of problems on all wifi since upgrade to 2.2 froyo pushed out to me by VZ when I changed out a "bad" handset. VZ no help, referred me to Samsung; they have acknowledge problem but have no fix, or eta....
So today I flashed the CM 10.1 ROM which is my first AOSP rom Ive tried since I got the phone. Question is this: What is different about this rom vs a TW rom or TW stock that suddenly made my wifi issue of "unable to obtain IP" go away? Is it simply the kernel or is it a certain set of drivers that are built into the rom itself?
No longer being "unable to obtain ip" message.. Hmmm
I'm just glad I got the wifi to connect. I do miss my TW a little bit I'm really liking Carbon ROM so far. Just wish I knew what made the difference to solve the issue with connecting with my router between the two types of ROMS. I had issues connecting with both stock and synergy but zero issued with cynogen and carbon. I used to get hung up on "obtaining ip" whenever any sort of security was enabled.

I noticed that some of the wifi issues were fixed in the 6/28 nightlies onward, but I'm still having issues with CarbonROM and my wifi extender. For some reason, it'll attempt to connect, then lose the signal, and give up immediately...even if the extender is in the neighboring room. The stock TW ROM doesn't seem to have this issue, but I'm hoping the CM and Carbon Dev Teams can figure something out.
Did you ever find a solution for this? I can't connect to my work WiFi on any Touchwiz ROM, but all recent aosp Roms connect with no problem.

I was looking at installing a Custom Lollipop Rom like Illusion, Bliss Pop, LiquidSmooth, NamelessROM but since these are not built for the Verizon lollipop Rom I'm wondering what key features might be missing. I have looked at the change logs for each and didn't see much or any information on known bugs of features missing normally found in Kitkat. Before wiping and installing a Rom I know I won't be happy with, what features might be missing from the custom lollipop Roms?
Camera working?
GPS working?
Wifi working?
Phone / 4G working?
Wireless Charging working?
Hotspot working?
Xposed working?
external SD Card working?
Bluetooth working?
NFC working?
Thanks in advance who take the time to respond.
Yes camera works but you'll be missing the G3's laser focus, so pictures won't be as good. Some third-party camera apps improves this although none use the laser focus. GPS works for some, not for others. There's a thread in these sections on getting it working on AOSP/CM ROMs, although not all have had luck. As far as I know, phone and 4G work fine.
From what someone wrote the other day, wireless charging is a stock-only feature, at least for now. I'm sure Xposed works, given that it's a work in progress having it fully compatible under Lollipop, and not all modules will work under Lollipop if they haven't been updated to do so. The External SD card works fine I think. Some people have had problems with Bluetooth, and someone noted that there's been a lot of bluetooth-related commits to CyanogenMod lately. I haven't checked NFC and I'm on stock LG Lollipop.
Good luck!

also,
these are not stock based roms, and never will be. for the most part, they will never look like or be like stock.
most of what you mentioned are common things and not stock specific, so they are included and generally working.
however, the camera will more than likely never be as good as stock, and wireless charging i would be surprised if it ever gets fixed. they are just a few things that are very difficult to get working on aosp/cm/whatever non stock base.

Your full line of lg apps will be missing. The q remote app I think can be added.
Gps works although you may have to flash a 4.4.2 rom like skydragon first and get a GPS lock.
Bluetooth works.
My laser focus works with the Google camera app on illusion 6.0 I can even see it lighting up ever so slightly.
Hotspot always works.
Xposed works but I haven't tried it or felt the need to. There were enough tweaks in illusion box (quick settings, nav bar, power menu, gestures, etc)
NFC worked for me yesterday with Google wallet.
Miracast has never worked fit me though but is not a deal breaker.
Illusion also has the best support hands down. Tons of people there to help with a fast response time.
If I were you, I'd set yourself up for success. Make a TWRP backup. Then flash skydragon and get a GPS lock. I'd be sure to flash the 12b radio if you haven't already (located in jasmine rom thread). Flash illusion, then desired gapps.
The worst thing that could happen is you won't like it and you can just flash your backup....

Hi All, just wanted to start this thread to add my feedback for CM12 11th May 2015 build.
I flashed the ROM using TWRP after a complete wipe. Before this ROM, I was on CyanogenMod 11, 20141115-SNAPSHOT-M12-d802
Download Google Apps from here. Version CM 12 (20141212)
So far, I have an amazing experience with this ROM
Everything works as it should (Wi-Fi, calls, messaging, camera etc etc.).
Battery life seems to have improved. There was an issue in the previous ROM. Google Play Services use to keep a wakelock for one of its processes. This was resulting in immense battery drain.
This ROM seems to be lighter than CM11
The interface is smooth as butter, no lags nothing.
CM11 also use to give me random call drops (loads of them), CM12, no issues.
Hope this helps : )

Yup, no issues with BT toggling either.. even tried transferring a file. worked perfectly.
Rotation works without flashing baseband?

didn't flash anything but the CM12 ROM and GApps.. from the links above.. Did a clean install. Rotation works perfectly well...
I'll just leave this here

All good. It's my daily driver. Awesome experience so far.
Found one issue.. Not sure if its ROM specific. I use open WiFi when in travelling to work via tube. I always use to be able to connect to the WiFi and sign in to the network. Now I can connect but can't sign in to the network. Cm12s 'sign in to network' is very different than the one on CM11. In CM11, I will need to click on 'Sign in to network' notification and it will take me to the default browser for signing in. In CM12, it doesn't take me to the browser, rather I get a dedicated 'sign in to network' window (see attachment) and it never signs in.
This not a big issue but I thought I will point it out : )

I remember reading where others have had Internet problems where they get an exclamation point (!) instead of a data icon and the 4g does not work. This happens to me on every Aosp Cyanogenmod based rom that I try. It's an intermittent problem and sometimes rebooting the phone Fixes the problem.
Has anybody found a fix for this yet? Or anything I could try? Thanks!

I have been suffering from this also. I have flashed every single AOSP rom available, tried every fix and trick for APN's that is mentioned, tried every modem. I just believe some phones just can't run AOSP roms. Any tried and proven fixes for this would be great.
