Hi guys,
I installed the CM 7.0.3 (the latest stable version available for Aria) a couple of days back. Everything is working fine, until I noticed something today.
I use the HTC wired headset that came with the Aria to take calls. Turns out the phone is using the handset mic instead of using the one on the wired headset, even when the headset is connected. the sound in the earphones is good, though.
Any clues how I can fix this problem?
Bump.. Any help would be appreciated.

I bought a $60 pair of ear buds and found out the remote buttons don't work with the aria. Idk why it has this problem.

Right there with you. CM-7.0.3.
Errr, nm, wrong forum. Well, different device, anyway, but I have the problem also.
Moved to Q&A
This is a problem I had wit the MoPho (love the nickname). I can't get the inline mic to pick up sound when Im on the phone and get noa response when trying to control music playback with apps like Winamp. I have some Apple Headphones and they did good with my EVO 4g but I get nothing with the MoPho. Tried to get help on Motorola forums but no avail. Anybody have this same problem or solution?

HTC has a similar headset jack as Apple, ditch the HTC and/or Apple headset, as those will not work.
Sorry,

PS - WE ALL LOVE THE NICKNAME, (now that's one bad MoPho!!!)
I solved it with an app.

Did you get the Apple iPhone earphones working with the Photon?? Please tell me what exactly you did! I installed the app but they still don't work I plug it in, and I get sound from the earphones but the mic does not work, nor does the buttons! They worked nicely on my EVO 4G but not with the Photon
That app didnt work for me either. I really would like to stick my phone in my pocket and talk. Im always holding it with headphones in. Disgusting

i have no problem using a pair of headphones with an inline mic. im using MEElectronic's m9 headphones. theyve worked great for me thus far, and sounds great for music as well.
Has anyone had any problem using the S3 in the car? I've got a factory fitted Bluetooth kit and it connects fine, but the other party cannot hear me at all. I can hear them fine though.

Mine is an A Class Merc, had the same issue with an HTC One S, I wonder If the Bluetooth is different on these newer phones and it's broken something somewhere.
Same issue here I can hear them but they can't hear me. Using sgs 3 and have a 2011 merc sprinter 313

Interesting, just tried it in my wife's Vauxhall, no problem at all...crystal clear both ways.
Try a couple of times. As it is intermittent in my van. Works sometimes but most of the time it doesn't. Callers just can't hear me
Ended up selling it today, car kit is a must for me, so back to iPhone 4S
I did see on the avforum
Just out of interest did you try it a few times in the vauxhall more than once?

Hi...Fine in the Astra, definitely a Mercedes problem, as I picked up a Note today from Amazon, exactly the same problem. I can connect, and hear them, they can't hear me.....so back it goes!
This is very strange, tried a Galaxy Note with Gingerbread, same problem, updated via Kies to ICS ,ver 4.0.3 and it fixed it, worked perfectly....borrow a Galaxy S3 to try again, running ICS 4.0.4, same problem.
Anyone have any thoughts?
I have the same problem, worked fine the first time I connected and hasn't worked again since :-(

Just bought a £100 Nokia 710 as an interim, works flawlessly in the car...
Just out of interest, to those of you with problems of the other person not hearing you can you still stream music through your car kit?
Yes I can.

I have the exact same problem. I have a 2 year old Toyota Camry with a Toyota factory built-in car kit and since switching to the galaxy s3 nobody can hear my end of phone calls.
I can use the car kit to listen to music from the s3 and can even control the music with pause/stop/previous/next buttons from the carkit, but the problem is the microphone is dead.
The bluetooth connection actually takes the microphone function away from the phone over to the car kit, but then doesn't work... Previously I was using a HTC Desire and had no problems at all with the same setup...
I've tried unpairing the devices several times, but to no avail.
I'm not sure what to do next, but I can't change the car kit as it is a factory one and actually works really well with every other phone except for the galaxy S3.
Any help would be much appreciated. Taking the car back to the factory is quite annoying, I'm hoping there's an easier fix that can be done on the phone...
Works fine in my UK Honda Civic 2007. Does clash though with my HTC Car A100 bluetooth bridge - works fine on its own but the Media Audio pairing seems to stamp all over the Call Audio pairing so I am wondering if the S3 has a bug with splitting the 2 audio connections between 2 devices.
Could it be that you're hearing your caller through "Media Audio" & thus they are unable to hear you cos the pick-up mic on the phone is too far away/being noise cancelled instead of routing through the car's hands-free mic & being treated as "Call Audio" as it should?
Hi!
I am facing problem on my new Galaxy S III. The original earphones works just fine but all other headphones including Sennheiser HD25-1, MDR XB-500, JVC RX-700, Pioneer SE M390 and many other have this problem. The problem is that I only can listen from one side (left),can't hear from right side unless I rotate the jack to to specific angle. Now the distributor of Samsung in Pakistan refused to accept the return as the original headphones are working fine. What should I do, and what could be the problem?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Anyone plz help....... :-(
Is there anyway I can contact Samsung directly to complain about the behavior of their distributor.......?
They absolutely pissed me off by saying that original handsfree is working fine, so we can not replace..... I showed them 3 headphones not working on it, and showed them in working order in another S III, but still they said that all of my 3 headphones are broken your S III is fine.......
http://www.samsung.com/pk/info/contactus.html
They also have have Facebook page, you could probably voice your concerns there.
Best of luck

Thanks for your reply......
I already e-mailed through the link you provided, but its already been 48 hours and I still got no reply....... It may be the very last Samsung purchase if this go unresolved.
Thanks though, much appreciated.....
The mic doesn't work.
I can hear people but they cant hear me, only some strange sounds, sometimes for a few seconds I can hear myself hardly
I bought a new charging port flex so i hoped a new mic (because the mic itself is there, isn't it?) will help but didn't work.
Now what should I buy? Which spare part? What is the problem anyway? I think it's a micontact because when I do voide record in a quiet room I hear some strange sounds. If yes, what can I do?
Or is it something with the software?
Thanks.
Which ROM ate you using? I've had that happen on and off with a few of the aosp ROMs

it worked for me!
Okay this is definitely not a solution but i had the same problem and
Even after the replacements it didnt work out. Ultimately i had to use a bluetooth while calling and after a week when i tested it without the bluetooth..viola it was working. So yes this not a solution but given that i also went through the same situation i wanted to share the experience. I know the strange voices. Irritating
