Hi there.
I would like to ask wether the internationl/UK '3G' version of the Galaxy S3 (GT-i9300 i think) is compatible with the newer DC-HSPA+ (or DC-HSDPA+) band standard?
Please advice. Thanks.
What "new" standard?
What country are you in? What carrier?
I get HSPA and HSPA+ on my gt-i9300

DC-HSPA+. Double speed compared to regular HSPA+ at the same MIMO settings.

DC-HSPA is only compatible with the LTE version of the international model, (I9305) the I9300 is not compatible.
I'm with T-mobile UK with a "standard" Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) model.
I heard Three UK's DC-HSDPA is twice better than that of T-mobile's or Orange's and (in my opinion) could be a cheaper/better bridge towards a future LTE handset upgrade.
WOuld you agree?
Shall i get the S3 LTE (GT-I9305) which is DC-HSDPA enabled on a contract or get the latest S4 bearing in mind Samsung has a habit of releasing "updated" versions of their Galaxy S phones mid-life.

T mobile S2 is different from the international version. There is a separate forum for it on xda.

The phone is obviously sim-locked, no need to redirect him to another forum.

Yes I understand that, but his problem is that it's T mobile but locked to at&t which is weird. Maybe someone in the correct forum knows about it. I doubt people here have heard of such a thing.

First thing you need to do is confirm model number. Look on the label under battery. Is it GT-I9100? Could be that it's a European T-Mobile Galaxy SII that somehow got sim-locked to AT&T.
T-Mobile Europe is different than T-Mobile USA, and uses different frequencies.
EDIT: FYI, GT-I9100 will work on both T-Mobile USA and AT&T, but will only get Edge data speeds on T-Mobile USA. It only gets 3G/H/H+ on AT&T's network, or other network that uses the same frequencies as AT&T. T-Mobile USA has their own bastardized version of the Galaxy SII, which is the SGH-T989.
In addition to that, AT&T has their own branded version of the Galaxy SII, which is the SGH-I777, and a bastardized version that is LTE enabled called the Skyrocket, which is the SGH-I727.
And this doesn't even mention all the other models for other North American carriers, or any of the Asian variants.
All really confusing, huh? Clear as mud?
Hey guys. I looked for an asnwer for this question but for some reason I am still not sure if what I've found is correct. Here it is:
Is the Galaxy S III International Version going to work on AT&T 4G( NOT LTE ) network or just 3G ? I am not sure if it is HSPA or HSPA+ as I've read somewhere that there is a difference in two.

Hi, I am debating on buying the international galaxy s3 or T-mobile's galaxy s3 (the dual-core model). Since I am from the US, would I be able to use T-mobile's 4g if i bought the international version?
No. Hardware differences.
This has been asked countless times before.

If you live in some parts of California or the east coast that have 1900mhz 3G it will work. But that only covers like ten cities max. It would be 2G everywhere else.
Also T-Mobile doesn't have 4G.

Hey!
No its not international I'm leaving in UAE and I'm using Du cariouer and its not supporting 4g so it depends on the operator
I would highly appreciated if any one can help me with this, I have an HTC Amaze 4G on US T-mobile, and I would like to get the samsung galaxy s3 but the international version the (I9300) with the quad core. My question is would I be able to use it on t-mobile network with no issues especially on there 4G speed?

No, it wont work with Tmobiles HSPA, I think Tmo is changing their HSPA to 1900 next year so that would of been a different story, but for the moment its just not worth it.
Thank you very much....that's very disappointing....

You're in the wrong forum, but since this is a pretty generic question, I'll answer it. Yes, the phone should work fine as long as it is unlocked. There is no guarantee you will get 4g or HSDPA coverage, that would depend on the carrier and the band frequency they use. If 3g or 4g matters to you, I suggest you find out what band frequencies your carrier uses and compare that with what the i727 skyrocket supports.
The slow rockets are coming again! run for cover!
The wall served a purpose and should be restored.
