Hi...My xperia doesnt get detected by PC after flashing this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846760
What should I do now, pls help...
Does your system.prop have something like these lines.
persist.sys.usb.config=mass_storage,adb
sys.usb.config=mass_storage,adb
Or
persist.sys.usb.config=mass_storage
sys.usb.config=mass_storage
If not try to add those lines in your system.prop file and reboot and try again after. And if those lines are already there then i realy dont know
Maybe some USB related .rc files are not right but you cant edit those without de and recompiling it.
Hope its just the system.prop for you.

I didn't, its turned on..Still thanks for help.
Your welcome and sorry it didnt work.
Hope you find a solution for it.
Btw can you connect to the computer and access usb from recovery? Hopefully it does work in that way. Because if it does the recovery.fstab is working/correct.
And only 1 thing I can think of then is maybe the vold.fstab in the /system/etc directory which should have these lines.
dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard auto /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.1/mmc_host/mmc0 /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.0 /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.4/mmc_host/mmc0 /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.4/mmc_host/mmc1
It's the last thing I can think off.

Can you please tell more about accessing usb from recovery?
P.s I have only CWM working.
There should be something like "mounts and storage" somewhere in the menu and in there should be the "mount USB storage setting/switch for the mount and unmount hope it's the same at your recovery I use cwm but xrecovery should have similar options.

This says:
USB Mass Storage device
Leaving this menu unmount
your SD card from your PC.
-Unmount
Okay so if you press unmount and then mount again that doesnt work?
Can you browse the sdcard content with a file browser apk or gallery on the phone if so i really don't know how to solve it.
And if you can't browse the sdcard from a file browser or the gallery app on your phone the only thing then is that maybe your sdcard got corrupted somehow.
Only way is too check sdcard is by using a sdcard adapter chip. Or a special USB with a slot for it and then insert it in a modern computer or laptop, with the special kinda slot is only for (the adapter.) Then to check if you can browse the content of it.
Or if you have another phone which uses the same sdcard type as the x10i too check if it works on that phone.
If that all not works maybe it needs a formatting but then you lose everything on it.
So beware of it.
(I had this issue one time a while ago when unplugging my phone from the computer and I couldnt browse my sdcard or mount it after. I needed to reformat it within cwm recovery to make it work again but lost everything on it.lucky I've made a backup of the content of my sdcard like maybe 4 days before it happened)
Hope someone else could help you more or solve it before you try to reformatting it, to preserve your contents ofcourse.

Hmmm...I press unmount and nothing happens, there is no mount option. I have other phone and SD card is working good and I can search it with root browser normally.
Thats weird i am sorry really don't know it then.
And did you tryed flashing new/other kernels and different roms.
Or restored a backup of any rom you used before and tryed too see if it works properly on them.
But make a backup first.
I will try that rom when I have my x10 back running with new battery. And see if it works at me. If so maybe the rom and kernel you downloaded got corrupted somehow probably when downloading it.
But i am not sure.

You could
1) download the ROM you wish to install to a PC
2) remove your SD Card from X10
3) put the SD Card on the PC
4) copy the ROM to SD Card and put the SD Card back on the X10
5) reboot in xRecovery and install your new ROM
hope it helps.

I don't have xRecovery, I have CWM rec. Tryed to flash few ROM-s but unsucceful.
Hello I installed and tryed that rom.
I installed the normal rom TUG-SDE and provided kernel semcdebrandengine.ftf
I must say I had few issues aswell with USB first with flashing the kernel, but flashtool said something like install drivers from the drivers folder which is located at flashtools directory.
I used that program to install all drivers I need for the x10i.
And flashed kernel again and the rom with success.
And after that it worked properly also USB to PC connection.

You don't have custom recovery working to flash .zip?
Can flash stock firmware found on Intratech thread. Will lose root, but can flash CF-root kernel from Chainfire thread to get root again...... All with Odin.

...quite new to all this. I have installed a rom on the sd disk but when I go to install zip from sd card can't see it !!
If its ok could you explain your method ....as Im a bit of a thicko !!
thanks
sr
Depending on what version of cwm 4 or 5 you have will make a slight difference but essentially these process.
Place the Rom zip on your internal sdcard not the removable external sdcard.
Navigate to flash .zip from internal sdcard in recovery. If you are changing versions if android or. 2.3.3 to 2.3.5 or flashing between different Roms, maybe best to factory reset, wipe.cache, and wipe dalvik (in advanced) from within recovery. Immediately flash ROM, and then reboot, give it a few minutes. You will lose your data etc, but will help to ensure you don't get boot loops or force closes etc

Thanks
...for the prompt reply, problem is I can only get rom onto the external sd card. Can't see a way of getting it onto the internal one !
Guess this looks like my evenings planned with the wife moaning at me!
sr
Boot up. Connect USB to PC and transfer the file.... If your still not sure if your putting it in the correct "sdcard", power off and remove extrenal sdcard.
You could also connect cable to PC in recovery, then "mount USB storage",. Transfer file to USB storage, "unmount", then flash from internal sdcard (look for the USB storage within).USB storage is just a sub directory of the internal sdcard.

I have the phone working but the PC will not recognise and storage on the phone which means I can't update etc. Do you have any ideas of what is needed to fix this. At the moment the only thing that I can use is Odin. I did have another rom on the sd card but cant open it.
Sorry about this !!
Steve
Have you installed Samsung Kies? You need the diverts from that installed to PC. Just remember that you need to close kies before using Odin.
Edit :You have selected connect from the phone (maybe have notification on phone status bar?)

One last question .....I install roms on the internal sd as I can never see them when installed on the external sd, guess I am missing something simple ?
Thanks for your help this afternoon
Steve
Hi everyone,
Few days back when I was in Sammy LSJ ROM, I noticed there is a file already created and I am experiencing difficulty to delete this file from the Internal Storage.
Location:
/sdcard/00/01/02/03/
Inside this path, there is a file with weird character name in 0 byte.
I already try to delete that file (also try with the folder 03) from:
>> Root Explorer --> unable to go inside folder 03
>> My Files (comes with the OS) --> only can see one file with 0 byte
>> ES Explorer --> found three files in it, all with 0 byte
None of it allows me to delete it. :crying:
I did try to remove it from Terminal Emulator with command “rm –rf /sdcard/00/01/02/03/” but not successful, since I have limited knowledge on linux command line. You may refer the screenshot that I have attach in here.
My Current OS in SGS2 : WanamLite v14.1 LSD – 4.1.2
Appreciate can someone guide me how to permanently remove it? :fingers-crossed:
Thank you.
Bump.... any help is highly appreciated. :fingers-crossed:
One sure way would be to backup needed data and then format /emmc (internal) or /sdcard (external) via cwm and re-install rom.

Connect your phone to a windows computer via mass transfer mode. Then right click on the internal SD card icon and go to properties and check disk for error. It happened with me. Some bad sector was built up. This process removed those files and my bad sector was also removed. You can also defragment your drive from here. I did mine.
I hope it helps...
Best of luck.

Thanks for the suggestion. :good:
Whenever I connect my phone to PC (USB mass storage), I shall see a pop up windows to perform check disk for the phone (Internal Storage).
So I choose "Automatically fix file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors".
Then I remove the phone and reconnect back, it will prompt the same windows.
Using defragment from PC did not solve the problem as well.
At the end... I managed to solve my problem by formatting the Internal Storage from Windows:
- connect the phone as "USB mass storage"
- select full format from PC on Internal Storage
That's all... now the annoying folder 00 no longer appear.
**I'm not sure format from Windows will damage the partition in Phone's Internal Storage? I rebooted the phone and check again, the storage remain as 11.50GB, I guess should be all fine now.
And you didn't have to torch it after all.
+1

Hi I have the same problem, what file system do you use when formatting from windows?
Thought I formatted my external SD card only but I accidently formatted the Internal SD card. Im able to boot into recovery only. Can I transfer a ROM to Recovery from my PC or do I have to use Odin again to recover my phone? Thanks...

If you have an LG phone, you need to seek help in the appropriate forum. This forum is for a Samsung phone, and we would not have the knowledge to address your issues.
I thought I was doing pretty good with this One being used to the HTC One X . Now a new problem I can't figure out. When connecting usb. It says usb connected. Debugging mode checked. My computer says Android device , My HTC. but it wont show as a hard disk in the computer, It only shows as a portable media player. I can't access the SD card, can't go into Recovery and mount SD card to copy or delete. This just started when I flashed Cognition 1 rom. I had factory on it before and was reading the SD by copying and deleting roms to the card. Any backup I make in recovery and rename , it still has a label as factory rom.
Windows 8,
unlocked , rooted, TWRP recovery v 2.5
I have a folder on the SD card labeled "Roms" where I put the Rom zips to flash in recovery and can't find that now either. In settings , under storage there is "mount usb storage " as greyed out. I have deleted HTC sync. Deleted drivers, reintstalled drivers and back to where I was before. Any help ?

I haven't got stuck yet to the point of no return. I tried using CWM no difference. Tried calling HTC. they offered no help. For some reason I just made another folder for roms and presto there is the folder. When in recovery I see the "rom" folder and whats in it, but connecting to the PC there is no folder except now the one I made. When I go back to recovery there is only one "rom" folder but I can also see what I put in it before making the new folder and adding to it. Still can't mount the SD card in recovery tho.

Never call support... Absolute uselessness in that solution. Just install from zip to get the boot.
Hi,
I need to copy large amount of files from my PC to the phone and preserve the time modified for the files.
I've tried all the solution I could find on xda forums such as:
using adb push
using adbsync
using localsync app
using quick pic app after copy and activate "fix date" function (didn't do anything)
Every time the result is the same, the modified date is set to the time of transfer,
I'm really out of ideas at this point.

Do you really need the date? And I think it is modified because they just appeared on the SD Card. it's like saving a doc file for the first time. Try rebooting into recovery and mount USB Storage. I've seen that so it moves everything how it should be. For example, I can't move by just connecting the phone to PC any kind of zipped ROMs. Try this and then come to report

Hi Andrey!
Tried you're suggestion and result is weird.
First of all usb storage is not working in CWM recovery, Iv'e read that its broken since version 6.0.1.0.
So i just used adb push, and then this happened (looks good..):
* please look at attached photo (I'm new user and therefor cant post links :|)
but then i reboot device and files are just not there!
tried search with root user and its just gone..
For me it works. Used it in the morning. You can try latest Philz or TWRP.
