CyanogenMod 10.1 for the Xperia U
Brought to you by TeamCanjica
TeamCanjica
We've been discussing to officialize the team a while ago and as Pablo (Paul-L) joined us we finally did it.
Our build server was then set up using Jenkins (Pablo's idea) and now and we'll are able to push nightly builds of Cyanogemod to Goo.im easily.
Also we are now joined by Pawel (DevSwift) which is now extending 4.2.2 development to Sony's Xperia devices
.
Diego Porto aka diego-ch -- CyanogenMod
Huang Ji aka cocafe -- CoCore Kernel
Federico Melano aka fedevd -- Miui
Franco Rapeti aka frapeti -- CyanogenMod
Matthew aka CallMeVentus -- NFC Variant
Pablo Lunarenko aka Paul-L -- P.A.C 4.2.2
Shantanu Londhe aka Shaaan -- Paranoid Android 4.2.2

__________________________________________________________________________________________________
The first full boot of our ROM was at 24/06/2013, current explaination of what works / does not
WiFi Tethering and WiFi Direct:
Wi-Fi Direct will probably NEVER work, we are working on Wi-Fi Tethering, which is probably going to work.
OMX -> Hardware Decoders / Encoders.
ST-Ericsson fault for NOT giving sources, it will NEVER work without them.
Camera
It's just missing symbols, it WILL work
Torch
Needs configuration, it WILL work
Audio
ST-Ericsson NEVER gave the sources, it's KIND of working, BUT is probable it never work at it's FULLEST
Bluetooth
Needs vendor configuration, it WILL work
_______________________________________________________________
Installation things for the paranoic ones:
YOU MUST INSTALL boot.img VIA FASTBOOT/FLASHTOOL IF GIVES YOU ERRORS
So, someone surely will see...set perms failed, this is because we must add a custom edifier/ota tools packager script written in Python 2.x
IF you see the some set_perms failed. IT doesn't mean that the ROM failed to install, just SOME of the files permission weren't applied because mostly THEY DON'T EXIST.
What to do? stay at recovery, go to advanced settings and select "fix permissions". THIS is not required, if you find any problems, just try, it will not do harm to your phone.

Awesome work and thanks. And btw i saw on some other devices (samsung galaxy ace) that omx libraries were adapted from ics, i suppose we could do the same ?, because correct me if im wrong but without omx libraries then bye bye to video recording - hardware video acceleration.
Just installed the ROM. And the rom is, impressively smooth, right after boot. I am unable to make calls, and play audio, etc. But this is some terrific work you guys have done. Every thing is running silky smooth with out a bit of lag. Thank you very much.

We will work out the calls problem like we did on Galaxy S Advance, probably.
If by audio you mean...music? (Apollo crashing) Yes, it's because the sdcard (internal storage) isn't actually mounted/available for system use.

Later we will upload a USERDEBUG build, that should make red lines gone (along with the extra debugging)

You need adb on linux, or adb and ffmpeg on Windows.
adb pull /dev/graphics/fb0 fb0
ffmpeg -vframes 1 -vcodec rawvideo -f rawvideo -pix_fmt rgb32 -s 480x854 -i fb0 -f image2 -vcodec png image.png

No, bluetooth doesn't work, yet.
Why? well, we need to FIND the actual bluetooth UART Port, once that's is found (it's somewhere in init the files), we just need to add it in the bluetooth configuration files (they are the same in S Advance), compile, and done
Why I haven't done it yet? I'm repairing my computer (my actual Quad-Core computer, not the slow Single core with 1GB I'm using now). And also, I don't have the device so it needs to be tested by DevSwift first

Hello guys, devs
I've been looking to create MIUI V5 based on stock rom this whole months but have lots and lots of problems!
however I could manage so much problems (HUGE THANKS TO MUNJENI! ... feel free to press thnx on here) but still have networks and wi-fi problems (screen resolution fixed somehow! and there is no battery drain )
SO:
Not Working:
- WIFI NOW WORKING!!!
- bluetooth WORKED VERY WELL!!!
- Network (get fc on Phone.apk, Phone.apk related ... fixed telephony smali!)
- get FC on Provision.apk (to fix this first we need to fix telephony smalis)
- get FC on SEMCSetupWizard (Resource ID problem)
- get FC on Note (Overlay Problem)
- get FC on many app (Overlay and Resource ID Problem)
- some miss resolutions (fixed on phone, massages, lockscreen and more but still have problem on top of the other app that contains multi-page, see this
- get FC on radio! (Still overlay or Resource ID conflict problem)
Working? everything else! (every single settings tested)
and there is no battery draining! (at least not without network)

so here I am giving you all my works and files created in github you can use that for creating a rom using linux (ubuntu 12.04 is preferred and 64 bit is a must)
Attention: this rom is not released yet so you need still waiting for a release ... do not post: waiting for release, nice jub, great jub (press the thnx button is just enough )
for discussion or other question please take it to here => [P] .::| the official unofficial MIUI discussion thread |::.
this thread has been made for devs to come and contribute to this great rom
here is link to github => https://github.com/sijav/patchrom_nypon
remember:
. First you need to full wipe your phone (wipe dalvik cache and data and also cache)
. After flash do not wipe any data ( it will cause fc and auto reboot), Do not flash gaaps (it will cause your home button not working!)
. you may want to flash boot.img first then flash your rom but that doesn't necessary
. adb has been enabled on start so you can have adb logcat after the splash screen!
. adb is not activated during splash screen and in recovery ( for activating this in recovery I need to recompile recovery again and that I can not do but if anyone willing to do pm me I will send some information what he have to do)
. fix_patchrom.sh will rename framework2.jar to framework_ext.jar so everytime you update your miui framework2.jar will be updated and you need to do fix_patchrom.sh again for framework2 update!
Readme from github:
HTML:
Get started
----------------
$ mkdir micode
$ cd micode
$ git clone -b jellybean git://github.com/MiCode/patchrom_android.git android
$ git clone -b jellybean git://github.com/MiCode/patchrom_build.git build
$ git clone -b jellybean git://github.com/MiCode/patchrom_miui.git miui
$ git clone -b jellybean git://github.com/MiCode/patchrom_tools.git tools
$ git clone -b master git://github.com/sijav/patchrom_nypon.git nypon
- for patchrom fix run:
$ ./fix_patchrom.sh
Export path
-----------
$ . build/envsetup.sh -p nypone
$ export PATH=$PATH:/path_to/micode/tools
Build your rom
--------------
$ cd nypone
$ make fullota
- you will get error on compiling the framework-miui-res.apk so enter this code:
$ ./fmr.sh
After everything is compiled, you need to manually fix updater-script from zip! (this isn't nessesary)
- Please do look in temp folder for conflicts and try to fix remaining bugs, Thnx.
- for now Phone.apk and Provision.apk are not working, deleting them and SEMCSetupWizard.apk will make rom booting.
- after installing you need to run these command as some files won't have the right permissions if you don't fix the updater-script from zip:
adb shell chmod 06755 /system/xbin/*
adb shell chmod 755 /system/bin/*
- there is a folder named changes it containes the changes that has been made to the untouched frameworks until the first initial import

I didn't compile the kernel! ... but will upload the touched ramdisk asap
Edit: @percy_g2 I just used the stock kernel ... decompile it's ramdisk, added shelld service and recovery and rngd and white balance and init.d support by doomlord in init.rc ... add recovery start in init.st-erricson.rc , added sbin and res folder from nemesis kernel ... and that's all then I put everything together=>
I packed the ramdisk using this command =>
Code:
find . | cpio -o -H newc | gzip > ../ramdisk.gz
I maked the kernel by added ramdisk cmdline and zImage to python by using this command =>
Code:
python mkelf.py -o boot.img [email protected] [email protected],ramdisk [email protected]
then I opened stock kernel and patched one by hex editor and copied these from 0X00000094 to 0X000004E6 from stock rom then put '04' to 0X0000001D,
(that's all I did )

well somebody report that if there is no cert in kernel for stock rom we will see a huge battery drain but it was for GB and ICS so I thought maybe in this rom for not having cert we may encounter battery drain ...
anyways with or without cert the rom is booting but wifi and bluetooth not working so implenting cert is not a much big deal! ... I'm working to see if I can make CM running and borrow smalis from there

Ok guys,i managed somehow to turn on the Bluetooth and connect it to my moms Nokia. But then i tried to replicate it and now it won't turn on.
Here is the logcat and you can see on the bottom that it connected. http://pastebin.com/PaDuCZiB
Camera crashes on start and Focal is working but crashes when i take a picture. That is probbably because of the SD problem.
No sound,no wifi,i didn't test the gps. Rom is fast, but some animations are laging.
@atis112 i see in the source that you did some changes to BT did you fix it ?
EDIT 3,i think. xD
#define BTM_DEF_LOCAL_NAME in bdroid_buildcfg.h is set as "HTC Explorer A310e" , i mean it's not really a bugfix but i think that BT deservs the name of our device.
EDIT 4 :
So i checked the bt_vendor.conf and there was a file in /system/etc/firmware/ named BCM4330B1_002.001.003.0221.0228.hcd but when i checked on the phone it was named something like BCM4330B1_002.001.003.08xx.08xx.hcd,can't remember correctly. So i renamed it and when i rebooted the bt was on. But when i turn it off it won't turn on again unless i reboot the phone.

I am not really a dev,i am just trying to help. I tried to find some help on cm irc channel, but they were to busy trying to help some guy with his S3. -.-' I'll se what i can do,so far i know that sd card can be acessed fully in file manager but only when you enable root access, other then that there is only a download folder. Also when charging the green led turns on as soon as the phone battery lvl reaches 92-93%. Sound works in phone calls,i did two phone calls and some messages and everything was ok. Are there any gapps,i would like to test some other things ?

Yes, i added it: https://github.com/ProtouProject/android_device_htc_protou/blob/cm-10.2/ramdisk/fstab.protou#L6
The sdcard problem is because of prebuilt init. But with CM init, the ril don't work and the rom have random reboots.. and I don't know why.
I think that the sdcard is mounted as read-only or idle.
I read on some disscussion that fsck -f /dev/store/media this would help fix it.
Also is it possible to switch internal and external storage ?
There is a hashtag in /ramdisk/init.protou.rc on line 12,should it be there and on line 148 there is just # wifi-- ? I am just asking this because they don't seem like they should be there, but that is just me.
What is the diff. bettwen eth0 and wlan0 ?
EDIT:

I think that the sdcard is mounted as read-only or idle.
I read on some disscussion that fsck -f /dev/store/media this would help fix it.
Also is it possible to switch internal and external storage ?
There is a hashtag in /ramdisk/init.protou.rc on line 12,should it be there and on line 148 there is just # wifi-- ? I am just asking this because they don't seem like they should be there, but that is just me.
What is the diff. bettwen eth0 and wlan0 ?

Might i suggest a better method? make a git account and make pull requests. That way, atis112 will have an easier time looking at exactly what you mean.

Why does pico use NO "init" file??
That means they use CM init?

Yes, they use the source-built CM init.
I did adb shell dmesg and this popped out http://pastebin.com/vZdvYpB6 .
There are tons of <3>[ 1761.106391] C0 init: cannot find '/system/bin/fusermount', disabling 'fuse rmount' errors.

Why would he, 4.2.2 to 4.3 isnt a big jump. And most of the work done on 4.2.2 can be transferred to 4.3. Besides, I dont see it as a new project, but as an upgrade of the current. Its still a jelly bean. He cant help it either that cm gave it an other build number. Its positive in my eyes he moved on to 4.3 instead of sticking to an older android build. Isnt that what we all want? The latest and greatest? So, its not about what you or anyone else wants, but about what he wants. We just have to follow, like it or not.
Edit:
And an other thing: just noticed the thread title, can you please ask questions like this in the q&a thread, this is for development only. You can find the link in the OP.

This is an enhanced version of the 81c developer preview that google released.
It has currently been ported for Mako and Deb and improved for Hammerhead and Flo
It offers a permissive selinux policy, aosp merged in and rock solid stabilty along with drastic improvements in speed and smoothness.
It offers updated proprietary files, updated google apps, fonts, res files and animations from the newer sdks.

Deb does not have a working mobile radio yet, radio turns on but without access to the settings, we can't configure it. A work around is being worked on
Big thanks to @defconoi , @zyr3x , @percy_g2 , @ben1066 [MENTION=1050103] for improving and originally helping with the old lpv79 port to Mako.
Right now I rebased the entire project to clean it out and smooth it out
Huge thanks to @ramjet73 @bitstra @manueltts @skiman10 @psycho693 @jayfallen for helping me get it over to the other devices I don't have and testing everything I threw at them and the huge brainstorming and trying things I couldn't. It would have not been possible without these guys so please thank them

Warning. This has heavy ramdisk mods that are essential for it to work. You can flash current up to date "kit Kat kernels or L updaters only" but not full boot.imgs as this will break the ROM. If you do happen to flash a a boot.img, you can pull it out if the rom and fastboot flash boot boot.img
Hammerhead can only use L preview Kernels.
Remember, this is a port of a developer preview, there is already bugs in the official version from google and without the L code, we can not fix google's bugs. There are fixes to known problems in N7 2013 and N5 forums so if you do find them, please provide them with the bug

Now over 9000!!!!!!
Updated selinux security policy
tracked down some missing permissions
did some other work but can't remember
B7.0.1
Flo & Deb
removed some excess apps that were replaced and I missed in b7
B7
updated fonts, res files, animations from the latest sdk
updater-script wipes cache files
updated some more google apps.
now using smart-art
force dns to google's public dns
B6
6 finishes up the rebasing work from 5 (5.9 was just a stepping stone and getting it out to other devices so we could work out all the kinks)
(Mako only info)
The rebasing work meant a lot of clean up and trying to get it as efficient as possible so from 5 to 6 is a big step and will be quite noticeable
(mako, flo, deb)
updated egl drivers are from qcom developer are in here which are newer then the preview ones
(Hammerhead )
Proper working sound now
(All)
Built in Busybox should be working. I tested the functions and seemed good to me.
Got rid of all the looping code and debugging code to speed everything up.
Updated the preview proprietary binaries to the latest version (some can't go all the way up and are stuck on a previous set or even original preview versions)
(Hammerhead has the latest preview egl drivers)
Built in google apps have been updated.
Introduction of slim builds for those on a bandwidth budget.
Can't think of what else.
Most kinks have all been worked out

Installed it now, works great. Thank you for bringing this to deb.
Now all we gotta do is figure out how to access the radio setting outside of the setting app since they aren't there.
I had to track down the radio files and pulled them out of 4.4.3 to get the radio to start but I don't have a deb so I can't troubleshoot it as well.
I'm using the n7 as a base for mako along with all the framework files but had to use the n5's apps. The problem with deb is that if you try to use non tablet apps, it breaks the multi user feature so that might not be am option there so a script or an app that replicates the setting and configure it to the network might have to be done

Just so you all know it was me who actually did all this stuff, @sykopompos is taking all the credit ? no but really without sykopompos and his wizardly ways there would be no way this would have gotten done. He was nice enough to help with the project, then "take it over" and get it done the right way. Make sure to give him a big thanks for taking time out of his day and working on this through the nights. Without him this might have never happened. Thanks a lot man!

You are welcome . Yeah, I'm looking for that too.
is the camera working correctly on geeb?
The builds provided in the link you posted are from @Kevinjoa , and he has a thread on the Sprint LG Optimus G forums (http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-sprint/development/port-android-l-preview-gee-t2818325). There are more posts and active members there, so anyone that wants to know what's up should head there.
Also, Data doesn't work with kernelgeeb.zip on release 17 (just tested it)
You can get Data and camera to work on release 17 (or any Kevinjoa's builds i think) with this kernel (https://mega.co.nz/#!VNcRCCiK!I0cV-A1MgcEsTWsx07zVmxEDGgQIjt7DjP_dEqY_WwU) but then wifi doesnt work. Right now I'm experimenting replacing some wifi files in the rom to see if wifi works with the jollaman's kernel provided above.
I'll report back as soon as I can.
And btw thanks for creating this thread here on e970 forums, I don't think everyone knows about the Spring OG thread
EDIT2: Well turns out making a flashable zip isn't as simple as I thought xD
EDIT1: Ok so I got Wifi, Data, and camera working on release 17 with jollaman's geeb kernel for L, though autorotation gets bugged most of the times i think.
For those interested:
I took all wifi-related files in this rom (https://mega.co.nz/#!xB9xGSpK!kGCJo_GiLqRhPneqbv95xckbSmL2UMQbs7kdn0kZyAU)
from these folders:
\system\etc\wifi
\system\vendor\firmware\wlan\prima
\system\etc\firmware\prima
and copied them to the respective folders in release 17 rom.
Then I flashed the modified rom file and the jollaman kernel.
I can try to make a flashable zip of the wifi files, though i have never done it before.
And also, I read that jollaman999 is working on v12 of his kernel which would be compatible with Lollipop, so in the meantime if you want jollaman's kernel features then this is the way to go

You could try decompiling the framework-res.apk and then modifying the file "storage_list.xml" in "res/xml/" and add the proper values, something like:
"<storage
android:mountPoint="/storage/sdcard1"
android:storageDescription="@string/storage_sd_card"
android:removable="true"
android:maxFileSize="4096" />"
(from https://source.android.com/devices/tech/storage/config-example.html)
after the existing entry in there.
Then you would need to recompile the .apk and add that to the device.
After that, it might show up (with the right Kernel).

Hello everybody,
I've just compiled PACMAN-ROM for my new Z3C. Current version is PAC-LP MR1 Beta2.
Device trees are CyanogenMod's so probably all device specific CM-bugs will be there too.
The boot.img inside the zip contains CM 12.1 kernel and "Cyanogen Recovery" (no backup right now!).
For alternative recoveries/kernels scroll down to "TESTED - WORKING"...
If the rom is stable for daily use (as I hope) I'm gonna build newer version periodically (depending on PAC & CM updates).

Flash it before or after installing the PACROM zip. It contains the zip's
kernel + DualRecovery. Installing the rom zip will overwrite recovery again
so for backups it might be necessary
to flash it always before installing a new zip, e.g.
2015-04-29:
- Screenshots
- Yes! I got it running. After some hours of use, it seems really smooth & snappy. No reboots.
- How I installed everything: Root on Kitkat stock rom, backup TA-partition, install
Dual-recovery, update to Lollipop rooted, make nandroid backup of hole system,
unlock bootloader, flash PACMAN boot.img, wipe data/caches,
flash PACMAN zip + GAPPS ... quite some hours of work.
TESTED - WORKING:
- 2G, 3G, 4G
- wifi, wifi hotspot
- bluetooth audio
- nfc
- usb otg
- GAPPS (mentioned below)
- titanium backup
- PAC customizations (not all tested)
- video playback on youtube, vlc, mxplayer

- M5 kernel (CM12.1 based): http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/orig-development/kernel-m5-kernel-t3115498
BUGS:
- phone call volume loud / not reducable in dialer app. (skype & whatsapp calls are alright) solved on 150512
- If alarm clock is set active -> reboot leads to normal shutdown -> deactivate alarm for that case
- photo: Little fish-eye effect on short distance (it's not that little actually)
NOT TESTED YET:
- encryption
Installation notes: Unlocked bootloader required
- flash boot.img (rashr on phone/ fastboot on pc), then boot into custom recovery
- wipe cache, wipe art/dalvik cache
- when coming from a different rom wipe data (factory reset)
- when changing between different gapps packages format system may be useful
- flash rom zip
- if needed flash gapps zip

It's the same as any Lollipop based PAC ROM, so just search the web for pics.

I think PAC is AOSP & CM based. Custom kernel. Unlocked bootloader, yes.

Happy to build actually it's not that difficult with CM device support. Probably I'll build some monthly versions or so...

:good: In case of resurrection remix you only need to add/edit 1 file (local_manifest) to be able to compile a working rom. All the rest it just setting up ubuntu, init/sync repo an start building ...
Hmm it could be a reason to unlock bootloader.,)
XZDualRecovery

Just flash it before or after installing the PACROM zip. It contains the original kernel + DualRecovery. CyanogenRecovery really sucks, not even a way to make backups. Now we can
does this have a camera fix included, or does that need to be flashed separately? I don't have a backed up TA partition, so I rely on the fix for image processing (like many others on here, I'm sure).
thanks in advance and nice to see the ROM!

there's nothing like this included. as far as i know custom roms/ custom kernels can't handle drm keys from TA partition. not sure about flashable drm replacement, i don't think it will work, but maybe it does
perhaps someone knows more about this sony image processing stuff.
isn't that all software based? if so, i could imagine that a good camera app (FV-5 or something like) can bring the same results.
Great work mate. Been running a few hours with the updated boot.img
Hopefully there is no "memory leak"

That fix is only useful on stock Sony based rom's.
bugs update
(1) i found a small, almost funny bug. couldn't reboot to recovery today because phone always ended with shutdown. i desperately flashed the boot.img again but no change. only after deactivating everything i thought not being active at installation the problem disappeared.
well, it's the active alarm, that i use every morning ...
(2) in call volume issue seem's to be somewhere hidden in android_device_sony_z3c/audio/mixer_paths.xml of the repo. just in case someone likes to search
I have noticed a small bug, could be just me though. When rebooting while plugged in to the USB charger it goes as far as the Sony logo then freezes until I unplug it. How would I go about submitting a bug report for it?

Hi, thank's for that! I've just reproduced what you wrote. On my phone this is also connected to active alarm clock. It's rebooting fine when alarm is off. So, quite the same as my last post.
I have no suggestion about real bug reports, because of 2 reasons: this is an unofficial build, primarily for myself ... but shared. I would stop building if Z3C would get official PAC support. And I've just started building roms 2 months ago. So, I'm not having the skills (yet) for advanced debugging. Right now it's more like being voluntary apprentice  ... I'm gonna add your input it into 1st post.
For now stability of this rom is mainly dependent on PACROM itself and official CM support.
Im glad you could reproduce the same bug. I think you have done a great job mate. I'm loving this ROM and appreciate your efforts. I'm trying to figure the dev side of things myself, not having much luck yet.

Good job, m8!
Can someone post a picture, taken by camera on this phone with this rom ?
A picture of a door , or a wall, for example. Any picture featuring a rectangular shape with straight lines.
I had a broblem be4 on CM12 @z3c , the camera ( any camera app ) took pictures, distorting proportions, like there was a fisheye filter applied
