You are welcome . Yeah, I'm looking for that too.
is the camera working correctly on geeb?
The builds provided in the link you posted are from @Kevinjoa , and he has a thread on the Sprint LG Optimus G forums (http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-sprint/development/port-android-l-preview-gee-t2818325). There are more posts and active members there, so anyone that wants to know what's up should head there.
Also, Data doesn't work with kernelgeeb.zip on release 17 (just tested it)
You can get Data and camera to work on release 17 (or any Kevinjoa's builds i think) with this kernel (https://mega.co.nz/#!VNcRCCiK!I0cV-A1MgcEsTWsx07zVmxEDGgQIjt7DjP_dEqY_WwU) but then wifi doesnt work. Right now I'm experimenting replacing some wifi files in the rom to see if wifi works with the jollaman's kernel provided above.
I'll report back as soon as I can.
And btw thanks for creating this thread here on e970 forums, I don't think everyone knows about the Spring OG thread
EDIT2: Well turns out making a flashable zip isn't as simple as I thought xD
EDIT1: Ok so I got Wifi, Data, and camera working on release 17 with jollaman's geeb kernel for L, though autorotation gets bugged most of the times i think.
For those interested:
I took all wifi-related files in this rom (https://mega.co.nz/#!xB9xGSpK!kGCJo_GiLqRhPneqbv95xckbSmL2UMQbs7kdn0kZyAU)
from these folders:
\system\etc\wifi
\system\vendor\firmware\wlan\prima
\system\etc\firmware\prima
and copied them to the respective folders in release 17 rom.
Then I flashed the modified rom file and the jollaman kernel.
I can try to make a flashable zip of the wifi files, though i have never done it before.
And also, I read that jollaman999 is working on v12 of his kernel which would be compatible with Lollipop, so in the meantime if you want jollaman's kernel features then this is the way to go

I'm on E970 & camera, wifi worked perfectly. But thanks a lot for your detailed post. Is there any patch for SD card & NFC? Except these 2 things, this ROM is not bad!

Not yet. That's what's keeping me from using this rom as a daily driver :c .
I guess Jollaman's kernel v12 will fix those issues, but as far as I know, there is no word on when he's releasing it

according to jollaman999 camera is working and he added sd card init lines for geeb (http://forum.xda-developers.com/opt...el-jolla-kernel-cm-based-roms-t2851612/page46).
Sd card still not working with the new kernel
I am was install the kernel camera works perfectly but 3g data is dissaper

@mtatohin,
Nice work on the post
I tried the Android L Porting with Kernel "jolla-kernel_AIO_V12_Rev2-geeb,e970" and finding trouble in.....
---------------
1. No reboot option.
2. Camera can't connect error.
3. NFC Not working.
4. Data connection not working. Tried the steps to manually add the APN's but still problem exists.
5. SD not Mounted.
---------------
I did a clean install.
Please help for the above with any fixes.
Thank you.
P.S You are doing a Good Job.:good::good:

You could try decompiling the framework-res.apk and then modifying the file "storage_list.xml" in "res/xml/" and add the proper values, something like:
"<storage
android:mountPoint="/storage/sdcard1"
android:storageDescription="@string/storage_sd_card"
android:removable="true"
android:maxFileSize="4096" />"
(from https://source.android.com/devices/tech/storage/config-example.html)
after the existing entry in there.
Then you would need to recompile the .apk and add that to the device.
After that, it might show up (with the right Kernel).

__________________________________________________________________________________________________
The first full boot of our ROM was at 24/06/2013, current explaination of what works / does not
WiFi Tethering and WiFi Direct:
Wi-Fi Direct will probably NEVER work, we are working on Wi-Fi Tethering, which is probably going to work.
OMX -> Hardware Decoders / Encoders.
ST-Ericsson fault for NOT giving sources, it will NEVER work without them.
Camera
It's just missing symbols, it WILL work
Torch
Needs configuration, it WILL work
Audio
ST-Ericsson NEVER gave the sources, it's KIND of working, BUT is probable it never work at it's FULLEST
Bluetooth
Needs vendor configuration, it WILL work
_______________________________________________________________
Installation things for the paranoic ones:
YOU MUST INSTALL boot.img VIA FASTBOOT/FLASHTOOL IF GIVES YOU ERRORS
So, someone surely will see...set perms failed, this is because we must add a custom edifier/ota tools packager script written in Python 2.x
IF you see the some set_perms failed. IT doesn't mean that the ROM failed to install, just SOME of the files permission weren't applied because mostly THEY DON'T EXIST.
What to do? stay at recovery, go to advanced settings and select "fix permissions". THIS is not required, if you find any problems, just try, it will not do harm to your phone.

Awesome work and thanks. And btw i saw on some other devices (samsung galaxy ace) that omx libraries were adapted from ics, i suppose we could do the same ?, because correct me if im wrong but without omx libraries then bye bye to video recording - hardware video acceleration.
Just installed the ROM. And the rom is, impressively smooth, right after boot. I am unable to make calls, and play audio, etc. But this is some terrific work you guys have done. Every thing is running silky smooth with out a bit of lag. Thank you very much.

We will work out the calls problem like we did on Galaxy S Advance, probably.
If by audio you mean...music? (Apollo crashing) Yes, it's because the sdcard (internal storage) isn't actually mounted/available for system use.

You need adb on linux, or adb and ffmpeg on Windows.
adb pull /dev/graphics/fb0 fb0
ffmpeg -vframes 1 -vcodec rawvideo -f rawvideo -pix_fmt rgb32 -s 480x854 -i fb0 -f image2 -vcodec png image.png

No, bluetooth doesn't work, yet.
Why? well, we need to FIND the actual bluetooth UART Port, once that's is found (it's somewhere in init the files), we just need to add it in the bluetooth configuration files (they are the same in S Advance), compile, and done
Why I haven't done it yet? I'm repairing my computer (my actual Quad-Core computer, not the slow Single core with 1GB I'm using now). And also, I don't have the device so it needs to be tested by DevSwift first

Gaaps_4.4.4_Download
Before you install CM-11.0: Preparation (First three are optional. If you want to start fresh, these can be skipped)
Install AppBak from Market, run it and save a list of all your apps.
Install SMS Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your SMS history.
Install Call Logs Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your call log history.
Boot into ClockworkMod recovery. Make a full backup. You will need this backup later if you decide to go back to your previous ROM and data.
WARNING: Many apps will Force Close crash if you restore data from a previous ROM.
Install ClockworkMod Recovery
Warning: Only use this recovery to flash CM-11.0. Otherwise, you risk bricking your phone!2
Wipe data and cache.
Flash cm-11*.zip.
Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM11.0 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
Reboot phone.
After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
Warning: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.
Upgrades
Upgrades from previous versions of CM11.0 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM11.0 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.

How did You Installed it please give the method
I installed it and I'm testing it currently. For now very smooth experience without any problems. Everything seems to work fine. It didn't updated the modem which is good as I'm with latest build for it. I cannot tell if the battery life is good yet as I'm on the rom since a few hours but I haven't noticed any big drain while using it till now. For those who are wondering how to install it - just flash it as any other rom trough recovery. I recommend to wipe all before flashing it as it is a completely different rom than stock. I use philz recovery because as far as I know it was build to flash kitkat roms. Also there is no google apps so you will have to flash them separately if you want. I did it and all is working fine for now. Will continue the testing and will give you more feedback soon. Thanks to the developer for his efforts to bring us cyanogen rom ! Keep up the good work !
I want to ask something - how can I switch to gsm network only ? I don't want to use 3g/wcdma mode. I cannot find this option in the settings menu. If someone can guide me I will be very grateful. Thanks !
Finally! God bless you xD being waiting for this since ages. Downloading right now!
Let me share this with you. I was thinking to change the kernel with another one from those compatible with aosp/cm roms because I want to have bln and other goodies but before I started to dig information if changing the kernel is possible I decided to check the bln and I can confirm that it is working perfectly even without initial activation via gosms pro or other application. I think this is important for you to know. Anyway can anybody confirm that we can change the kernel safely ? I'm curious about it as I want to customize the rom according to my needs and taste. So if anyone can tell if it is safe to flash a kernel which is compatible with other aosp/cm roms please let me know. Thanks !
thank you good sir !!!!:good:
d/l, will report back in later in evening how it goes.:cyclops:
Thank you very much sir, you bring back the life to our phone
I will test it soon...could you please add links to Gapps and CWM
Thank you again
Working nice and smooth under art
I'm using paranoid android gapps
Still testing but I think is flawless
Thanks a lot for the work! I would like to test the ROM but as I use the phone for work, I'd like to know some things before, maybe someone can help me (used numbers so you can use them with your answers if you want):
will there be an integration into the official CM-branches?
How is the DualSIM-feature integrated (choosing which SIM to use making calls, writing SMS, ...)
What about updates? After installing, do I have to wait for updates in this thread or can I use packages for other phones?
which CM-builed is the ROM based on?
THX,
Matthias

Read the official thread first, starting october 6 2014.
These modding descriptions are for the works of the AOSPA and AOSPA-legacy team, about 101% of the credits go to @ayysir and @houstonn and all oft PA team. Awesome stuff.
Feel free to donate to them in the way of their liking.
And of course @777jon, owner of the cited unofficial VS980 thread, who gave the essential hint about the display-caf package
This thread is intended to provide a knowledge base for modding the official builds as long as they seem flawed for some of us. Feel free to reference helpful stuff from other threads in accordance to forum rules.

Here's what made the issue go away for me on D802. This might be dangerous, so don't do it if you can't live with the risk of bricking your phone, you are entirely on your own if something goes wrong.
Prerequesites:
- Install official 4.6b3 AOSPA-legacy zip-image to phone
- [optional] Install Renders Kernel
- Install updated root
- Download and extract unofficial 4.6b3 VS980 zip-image from @777jon 's thread (yeah, it's the wrong phone, but we need only one file; find thread in Forum yourself, got yelled at for crosslinking stuff before )
Procedure:
-MAKE NANDROID BACKUP!
-Copy file from extracted VS980-image [zip]/system/lib/hw/hwcomposer.msm8974.so to phone's sdcard folder via USB (eg. ./Download)
-Start terminal on phone or adb shell
-Create backup dir:
Code:
mkdir /sdcard/noheatbackup
-get root access by typing
Code:
su
-make /system writeable by typing
Code:
mount -o remount,rw /system
-backup existing file by typing
Code:
cp /system/lib/hw/hwcomposer.msm8974.so /sdcard/noheatbackup/
-overwrite existing file by typing
Code:
cp /sdcard/Download/hwcomposer.msm8974.so /system/lib/hw/
-reboot by typing
Code:
reboot
-Note that you will need to be on a root shell to remove the backup again with
Code:
rm -r /sdcard/noheatbackup
:
Screenshot after replacing /system/lib/hw/hwcomposer.msm8974.so : Heat issue gone, see temp in status bar. After deep sleep, temps are about 3-5 K over room temperature.

Oh yes. See me:
Can i do it?
Download the vs980 From Post on original g2 development thread. Extract the zip and copy the file. (the 06/29 version)
Download the official beta 3 on aospal and extract it. Now i'll copy the file before and paste on beta 3 extracted zip, then i replace it. Now i'll zip the files and flash them via twrp. This method works too?

No, i meant the 4.6v3 version from october. Might work the way including it to the zip, but I'm really new to this and haven't tried.

My phone rebooted of it self after doing the step above!?
But the copying seem to have worked! Thanks a lot for this guide!
For me doesn't work.

Did you take the VS980 zip from @777jon s thread? I guess the official one has the same issues as the d802 official one.
Also I did it in an ADB shell, dunno if it works on phone's terminal.

Do Anyone try the new 4.6Beta4?!
I wonder if you can just take the hwcomposer.msm8974.so file from any rom based on dr87's source?
Its the same thing right?
______________
Edit
I just extract the lib from 3 different rom cm unofficial by fabioio (no number), pa vs980 (1), and mahdi 920 (2). Fabioio's cm is smallest and both pa and mahdi are of the same size.

I didn't compare the sources and also didn't check for device dependencies. If its design is done properly there shouldn't be any though. So yeah you should be able to take it from any dr87 based image as long as the structure doesn't change between different commits.
For the size that might just be different compiler options or even just symbol paths. Difficult to compare.
Also with this whole pa closedsource vs. pa opensource one cannot be sure what's really behind the official builds. Can someone actually bring me up to speed what's behind this open/closed source nonsense? Just IP protection?

The closed source thing is supposedly because that particular stuff(?) Is still buggy. Seeing how stuff go at desktop linux, this reason is really weird.
Yeah i just did the copy paste thing, i got stuck at lg logo. Right as i paste it the cellphone rebooted. I havent changed permission. I havent tried it for the second time though. Not sure if itll be the same.

That does indeed seem weird. It seems to me that custom roming is more about magical coding wizardry and fame than about progress in a classical open source sense. Maybe it's just an issue about age. I'm obviously too old...
Strange, my phone didn't reboot. I did it with adb shell and su.

See Post #2 for addons/additional files
See Post #3 for Install/Rom issues
See Post #4 for modems, rpm/tz partitions, and info. - as of 2-26-15, I would recommend NOT flashing the rpm,tz partitions. If you haven't then don't worry about it.
Anyone can use this as a base to build from. Just give credit.
Make sure you back up your EFS and current ROM first!!! - If you don't know how to backup EFS, look in the FAQ.
What is has:
Bone stock and rooted
Modem and Kernel are included - the Modem doesn't seem to be backwards compatible. It works, but shows as "Unknown"
Install instructions:
1. Flash this in TWRP - MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN FLASH THIS!
In TWRP, select Wipe>Advanced>then select cache, dalvic, data, and system. You can wipe internal and ext SD. BUT MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR FILES FIRST!! And don't wipe Ext SD with TWRP. Format it FAT32 on a computer.
2. Flash Rom
3. Profit!
After install:
Go to Settings>System Updates> and update profile/prl. You can also go to "Activate this device".
If you do not have Wifi Calling
You will need your MSL number and do the dialer reset. So in the Dialer ##786#. This will wipe your int SD!! And everthing else, so you will be starting fresh.
Bugs:
None that I know of.

Additional Files/Mods
I've combined mixer paths with a fixed build.prop. - Flashable - If you don't want both, then just remove it before flashing.
Mixer_paths are VERY LOUD!! - You have been warned!!
build.prop changes:
1. persist.splitwindow.support_all=false - true
2. ro.lge.qslide.max_window=2 - 8
3. dalvik.vm.heapsize=36m - 512
ZV8_Mixer_build
SD_Card_fix Flashable in TWRP - If this doesn't work, Some people are using an app from the Playstore to fix SD issues. SeLinux Changer, and set it to permissive.
EXTREME_ZV8_mixer paths - I AM MOST DEFINITLY NOT RESPOSIBLE IF YOU FLASH THIS ONE!!! Use at your own risk.
Install/Rom Issues Read This
Modems and rpm, tz partitions
Modems and rpm, tz partitions - FLASHABLE
If you guys need the modems for any of our Roms, Here they are.
Modems Folder This is the folder that has all the modems. Choose which one you want. It also has Apn's from the past.
The KK and L modems don't seem to be compatible.
RPM and TZ PartitionsTo be used with the corresponding modem above.
These are kind of up in the air, and for now are considered Beta. Although I have been using them with no issues.
History
After doing some reading in the International Forums, Cloudya recommends that we use these 2 partitions for a better Lollipop experience. I can't find the post now, and I have know idea what he meant. But I figured we could try it out.
Read here, near the bottom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57541255&postcount=428
Make sure you use the corresponding modem for these. - It SHOULD still work fine, but just be warned.
The ZV4/6 seem to work better for us
ZV8 rpm, tz partitions
ZV4/6 rpm, tz partitions
Hell yea!

The deodex might take a while. I looked at it briefly and it's quite different from past Android versions. But I will be making one shortly. Next project, actually.
I don't know about the volume mods yet either. I'd say for now don't use anything from KK. This thing is all new and very different.

Hello everybody,
I've just compiled PACMAN-ROM for my new Z3C. Current version is PAC-LP MR1 Beta2.
Device trees are CyanogenMod's so probably all device specific CM-bugs will be there too.
The boot.img inside the zip contains CM 12.1 kernel and "Cyanogen Recovery" (no backup right now!).
For alternative recoveries/kernels scroll down to "TESTED - WORKING"...
If the rom is stable for daily use (as I hope) I'm gonna build newer version periodically (depending on PAC & CM updates).

Flash it before or after installing the PACROM zip. It contains the zip's
kernel + DualRecovery. Installing the rom zip will overwrite recovery again
so for backups it might be necessary
to flash it always before installing a new zip, e.g.
2015-04-29:
- Screenshots
- Yes! I got it running. After some hours of use, it seems really smooth & snappy. No reboots.
- How I installed everything: Root on Kitkat stock rom, backup TA-partition, install
Dual-recovery, update to Lollipop rooted, make nandroid backup of hole system,
unlock bootloader, flash PACMAN boot.img, wipe data/caches,
flash PACMAN zip + GAPPS ... quite some hours of work.
TESTED - WORKING:
- 2G, 3G, 4G
- wifi, wifi hotspot
- bluetooth audio
- nfc
- usb otg
- GAPPS (mentioned below)
- titanium backup
- PAC customizations (not all tested)
- video playback on youtube, vlc, mxplayer
- camera & video recording
- GPS using Google Maps
- headphone sound
- XZDR recovery (version 2.8.15 not working): http://nut.xperia-files.com/
- FOTA TWRP recovery (persistent in fota kernel partition): http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-...12-nightly-t3010550/post58854063#post58854063
- M5 kernel (CM12.1 based): http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/orig-development/kernel-m5-kernel-t3115498
BUGS:
- phone call volume loud / not reducable in dialer app. (skype & whatsapp calls are alright) solved on 150512
- If alarm clock is set active -> reboot leads to normal shutdown -> deactivate alarm for that case
- photo: Little fish-eye effect on short distance (it's not that little actually)
NOT TESTED YET:
- encryption
Installation notes: Unlocked bootloader required
- flash boot.img (rashr on phone/ fastboot on pc), then boot into custom recovery
- wipe cache, wipe art/dalvik cache
- when coming from a different rom wipe data (factory reset)
- when changing between different gapps packages format system may be useful
- flash rom zip
- if needed flash gapps zip

Just flash it before or after installing the PACROM zip. It contains the original kernel + DualRecovery. CyanogenRecovery really sucks, not even a way to make backups. Now we can
does this have a camera fix included, or does that need to be flashed separately? I don't have a backed up TA partition, so I rely on the fix for image processing (like many others on here, I'm sure).
thanks in advance and nice to see the ROM!

there's nothing like this included. as far as i know custom roms/ custom kernels can't handle drm keys from TA partition. not sure about flashable drm replacement, i don't think it will work, but maybe it does
perhaps someone knows more about this sony image processing stuff.
isn't that all software based? if so, i could imagine that a good camera app (FV-5 or something like) can bring the same results.
Great work mate. Been running a few hours with the updated boot.img
Hopefully there is no "memory leak"

That fix is only useful on stock Sony based rom's.
bugs update
(1) i found a small, almost funny bug. couldn't reboot to recovery today because phone always ended with shutdown. i desperately flashed the boot.img again but no change. only after deactivating everything i thought not being active at installation the problem disappeared.
well, it's the active alarm, that i use every morning ...
(2) in call volume issue seem's to be somewhere hidden in android_device_sony_z3c/audio/mixer_paths.xml of the repo. just in case someone likes to search
I have noticed a small bug, could be just me though. When rebooting while plugged in to the USB charger it goes as far as the Sony logo then freezes until I unplug it. How would I go about submitting a bug report for it?

Hi, thank's for that! I've just reproduced what you wrote. On my phone this is also connected to active alarm clock. It's rebooting fine when alarm is off. So, quite the same as my last post.
I have no suggestion about real bug reports, because of 2 reasons: this is an unofficial build, primarily for myself ... but shared. I would stop building if Z3C would get official PAC support. And I've just started building roms 2 months ago. So, I'm not having the skills (yet) for advanced debugging. Right now it's more like being voluntary apprentice  ... I'm gonna add your input it into 1st post.
For now stability of this rom is mainly dependent on PACROM itself and official CM support.
Im glad you could reproduce the same bug. I think you have done a great job mate. I'm loving this ROM and appreciate your efforts. I'm trying to figure the dev side of things myself, not having much luck yet.
Sent from my Xperia Z3C using Tapatalk
Good job, m8!
Can someone post a picture, taken by camera on this phone with this rom ?
A picture of a door , or a wall, for example. Any picture featuring a rectangular shape with straight lines.
I had a broblem be4 on CM12 @z3c , the camera ( any camera app ) took pictures, distorting proportions, like there was a fisheye filter applied
