Cannot check "SIM CHANGE ALERT" and "REMOTE CONTROLS"

Hi,
I am having trouble with My Samsung Galaxy S2 (ICS 4.0.3) Sim alert and mobile tracker.
I go to Settings -> Location and security -> Find my mobile and everytime I try to check SIM CHANGE ALERT it says in progress but it doesn't check so I am unable to check or set up the other two options (Alert message recipients or remote controls) so can't track my mobile with Dive.
I have a samsung account and I am signed in...
Can anyone help me out - be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Maybe you should try to remove your sim card, reinsert it and try again,,,
If it does not work, check other security options for any errors..
Yes, i have tried that...but nothing changes....
I had this problem the other week. If I remember correctly, I had to delete the Samsung account (don't worry, there's a bug in Samsung's ICS 4.0.3 which allows you to remove it without doing a factory wipe!), then re-add it, and go into Samsung Apps->My page->Downloads to check that it's working properly.
Oh, and it should go without saying that you need a data connection (3G or WiFi) and your Samsung account password...

Yes it's works ! Thanks for your help cowbutt....
we just need to remove and re-add the samsung account...
1. just go to Settings > Accounts and sync then remove your samsung account from there....
2. then go to Settings > Security > Find my mobile > check the menu "SIM change alert" then insert your samsung id and password...now the menu is checked.
for menu "Remote Controls" same as step 2.
if one of the above menu checked will automatically add your samsung account to account and sync menu.

SIM alert sending IMEI instead of Phone number
After ICS upgrade 4.0.3 in Galaxy S2, SIM change feature sending IMEI number when SIM changing!! Previously it was sending phone number.
Anybody knows how to fix it?

Yes , I tested this feature on Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-i9100G, it works and It really sends the IMEI number.
But if you checked the source of the message it will be definitley , the phone number.
so you have both IMEI and Phone number.
Regards
Thanks

Transfer .csv (contacts) to Galaxy sII gt-i9100

hi,
I was running Andriod 4.0.4 jelly-bean(nexus) on my Galaxy S II GT-I9100. I saved contacts using "Backup contacts" app from store. It saved contacts as ".csv" file. Now I switched to Android 4.0.4 ICS for galaxy S II GT-I9100. this requires a ".vcf" file to recover contacts.
so, here're question:
1. Can I convert .csv file to .vcf file (please state a simple solution) ?
2. Can they be recovered?
3. is there a restoring app which could read a .csv file and load contacts to my phone?
Thanks (in advance).
Why would you need or think you need to do any of this? Your google account automatically backs up your contacts and restores them to device upon adding account to device.
There just isnt any real need to backup/restore with CSV.
However if you insist..

el-O-el for link
I have almost half of them restored via google. but I lost loads too. The .csv file when opened in Microsoft Excell Shows those missing contacts.
)
BTW: I found my answer. Just to help some peeps like me (because there are several awkward solutions on internet) the solutions is pretty simple.
you can upload your CSV file to goole from your computer and sync any of your phone again. they will be restored.
Cheers.

[Q] Galaxy star gt-s5280 password retrievel.

Hello,
i bought recently a s4 and gave my lg prada to a friend of me. The thing is he wanted to log in to the google store and email.. when he came to the conclusion he forgot his password for that email / google account. He did not enter any recovery fall backs for that account ( like sending a sms to his phone or a one time use password to another email ). But since he can still log in to the play store on his old phone i concluded that the password still has to be stored on his old gt-s5280.
Is there any way to recover it?
I just rooted his phone.. i found some articles about recovering passwords from the web browser with root explorer within data/data/ and then the browser map. I did found the tool usb cleaver, but they are all for different passwords then the one im trying to recover.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
greetings mellow.

[Q] how to recover deleted system apps on a rooted galaxy ace

Ok...so I recently rooted a friend's galaxy ace s5830i and I told him he now has the privilege to delete any bloatware on the device...as dumb as he was,he went ahead to delete all the system apps(not everything because some apps are uninstallable using kinguser app)..
Now after master resetting his device,he can't get past the select language setup screen...and also I realised he has deleted his android.process.acore alongside other system apps like email and messaging.
Now I have no idea what to do to the phone in other to get it to work normally so I decided to create this thread...
I'm really in need of help because this friend of mine is disturbing me.
Any help will be deeply appreciated...thanks in advance

Inorder to get the stock apps back you would require to flash your device with the stock ROM again.
