Hi,
I've neved had a problem deleting files from my external SD card.
Just installed Boeffla Kernel 2.12 and now I can't delete any file, I'm rooted and using Root explorer. (but I can from my PC connecting the phone to it, it's not a card problem). Also I've used Boeffla for a long time, no issues with it till now.
Anyone has experienced this issue? How can I fix it?
Thanks.
What rom?
In terminal emulator type "mount" and paste the output here (in code tags) please

Odd. Permissions look correct.
Can you flash the previous kernel version back and test please?
Oh my! I've just realized that some of the files I was trying to delete had wrong permissions! Changing them allowed me to delete those files.
But i can't understand why, i've copied them from the pc as allways, why some files had proper permissions and others don't?
Enviat des del meu GT-I9300 usant Tapatalk 2
You're not supposed to be able to change permissions on sdcards. They should take the permissions specified at mount :/

Guys, how did you solve this issue??
I'm trying to copy some folders/files from sdcard to extSdCard. The progress seems ok, but I noticed the contents I copied were not in the extSdCard after I rebooted.
Just so you know, I'm stock rooted...
[SOLVED]
I've sent it to SanDisk, since it was defective. Got a new one back...

Hi all,
can you please help me, how it's possible to create my own .tft file? I have ICS, rooted, unlocked bootloader, cleaned all useless apps like Google+, Maps, Places, Facebook and many others ****. So now I'm using pure cleaned Android. But is possible somehow to create "image" of my OS to .tft file, so in case of any problem with my ICS I can simply flash back my .tft? I mean something like using Norton Ghost in Windows when making image of C: drive....
Thank you very much,
Rado

Uaaaau, perfect! And now waht? I see there 6 files :
.android_secure.vfat.tar ......1,50k
boot.img...............................16MB
cache.ext4.tar......................7,50k
data.ext4.tar.........................243,53MB
nandroid.md5.......................249b
system.ext4.tar......................490,77MB
What to do now? My speculation is to copy it to computer and use flashtool to create .tft file from these files? Sorry for my stupid questions....
Noo. Don't go that far in. Stay in the folder i told you. And copy the whole folder there (it's named as a time and date) to your pc as a backup.

That's a complete backup. You can keep it on your sd card and just restore when ever you need

As I understand, in case of problem with OS I can simply boot to Bootloader (pressing volume down key when SONY logo appear) and select "Restore" option
Hey guys,
I recently installed first CM 10.1 then PACman rom on my i9300. Before that I used roms based on the stock samsung roms (Darky, Chaos, Wannam, etc). As soon as I flashed CM all my files dissapeared from my intrnal SD card, at first I thought that it had been formatted not knowing that CM installed itself on /sdcard/0. Last night when I went on and installed the PACman rom I noticed that from CM, when I navigated the sdcard to install the .zip the files I was browsing through were my old files and realized what had happrned. Now my question is how can I browse these files so that I can delete them and free up all that space? I tried using different root explorers both on my phone and on the PC but I just can't get to my "old" files. Any suggestion? Thanks.

do you have old files in your phone or they are gone??
secard/0 directory is accessible from PC and from root explorer too.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
So, the default directory I see when starting the file explorer from the phone and the pc is /sdcard which has the "new" files and no subfolder named 0. I tried going to /storage/sdcard0 and /storage/emulated/0 but it takes me to the same folder. The strange thing is that when in cwm recovery I go to "install update from sdcard" I see the "old" folder and have to go to ./0 to get to the files I can access from the phone and pc.

That's the way Android 4.2.x works not specific to CM, but yeah your advise holds Search thoroughly before asking questions.
Your old internal sd data that you were using with Android 4.1.2 is now in /data/media when you are using any Android 4.2.x based ROM
Thank you vary much! Found it! Sorry for reopening this topic, I did not know what to look for

Hey there !
any explnation ? may i wipre the extSdCard ? it seems to be a clone of the internal card, because there are the same folders and files in both cards and when i upload a file o one i found it in the other one !!
The explanation is in my signature - 4.2 and sdcard
Edit... I have misunderstood the problem.
It is like you have a script binding the 2 together. Maybe best to ask kryten

Here are some themes I have acquired over the past week or so since getting my Lg p-769 I figured I would share. These are some pretty cool ones (IMO). Let me know what you think! My personal favorites would have to be miui or prada! I did not create any of these themes just passing them on. Now as far as I know you MUST be rooted to use these themes. You must also have es file explorer or similar program with copy/cut capabilities. Now what you need to do is download the files. BEFORE installing you must enter your file explorer program. Find where you downloaded these files and copy or cut them. Now go to /device with the file explorer. Find the folder called "system". Once you find this folder open it and look for another file call "app". You must find the folder called "app" do not confuse it with the folder called "apps". Now open the folder "app". Upon opening the folder paste the downloaded files in this folder. Now click on each one and install. That is all there is to it! Now under settings/themes they will be there! Be advised just downloading and installing will not work! You must follow the above method or it will not work! Make sure you grant your file program Superuser access or you will receive a error when trying to paste to the "app" folder. Enjoy! :good:

Post pictures if possible
Thank you! My phone is the p769 version 20h I think it is. Anyways... followed your instructions but it didn't work for me. I had to install the themes FIRST and then copied them to system/app folder. Worked perfectly after that.
p769-rooted-locked bootloader-taptatalk
Followed steps to no success.I kept getting error msg "permissions denied". Lookout said it was a malicious file and prompted me to delete.so I continued this process 5-10 times with no luck.So by chance I just installed without copy paste to system app's and now Worked flawlessly. I only had to download and install.

First, like always, sorry for my English.
I want to know if we can create a partition like we make on windows for "backup" some folders. For when installing a new ROM.
(I miss SD card!!)
So we format internal storage for a clean install but don't touch the other "new" partition with our data (pics, ringtones, roms, mods, docs, etc...)
I hope someone understand what I try to write.

I think so but im not the person to ask. Ill talk to some devs and if any know how to do this ill lead them to this post.

Nope
The partition is in the pit file and cannot be modified as you wish
Nandroid is good enough for you to backup, via a custom recovery
