[Q] GT-i19100P flashing... Black Screen - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Right guys after successfully flashing my partners phone to make it run better i used the Siyah safe kernel 5.0.1 and vanilla rootbox ROM.
i tried the performance option in the kernel options and it was draining the battery big style.
So... decided to re-flash the kernel and put it in battery mode for optimized battery performance and now all i get is a black screen. ive done a factory reset and I've wiped the dalvik cache and fixed permissions but still a black screen straight after the kernel logo.
What have i done wrong? how do i get the phone to boot again?
Cheers Brett

You can still get to Recovery and Download mode, right? Then flash a Stock Sammy ROM via Odin, then do a Factory reset.

Now, I know this seems like a stupid question, have you got the phone plugged in to either a pc or external power?
I have a few phones that restart when plugged in to a power source. Might be a feature of the rom you are using.
Just a thought...
nope its disconnected from pc and ex power
still doesnt work?
HELP
take aut battery wait 10sec go dawnload mod and flash again stock rom

yes.
depend on you. if you want to stick with stock, then you gonna need to find stock kernel other than this one.
if you ok with custom kernel, just flash cf-root kernel, then use triangle to reset binary count, then install mobile odin to flash speedmod kernel.
or
if you ok to break your warranty, just go for cf-root kernel, then flash speedmod kernel.
or
just flash speedmod kernel..
FIXED

[Q] Problem after loading Siyah Kernel

Hi guys,
I have an S2 which I installed JB v5.. On to and all seemed OK except I had an issue with the screen going blank during calls. I posted a ? On the forum and some suggested Siyah Kernel which I downloaded to solve the prob......... Prob now is when ever I reboot it comes up with System UI has stopped. This in itself isn't a real issue because I can use CWM and reboot back to original back up of ICS.
My question is why would this be happening, is it a matter of just trying another Kernel (to solve my original prob of the blank screen)
I would like to keep Siyah and use JB if possible as they appear good but I am very new to all this so any suggestions are appreciated
Thanks
JB = JellyBam..? Which version of Siyah did you try? It's important you flash the right one Look at the changelog on www.gokhanmoral.com.

In the CWM try to wipe dalvik, wipe cache, file permission, wipe factory reset. then restart again

Why do a factory reset if it's just a kernel/flash-issue? It seems he just flashed the wrong version.

Try kernel v4 instead. If you still have issues you will need to wipe data/factory reset. You can backup everything via Titanium Backup Pro.
If you still have issues you will need to use a kernel/rom cleaning script like these. Once you have cleaned rom/kernel of old leftover files you can do a fresh install of rom then kernel.

Stuck in a loop with CM

I've been running 10.1.2, but this morning was notified of update. So I installed the update.
However, the update killed my Wi-Fi, in that I was getting signal, but no internet connection.
So I tried to roll back to 10.1.2, but now have the constant CyanogenMod loading animation and it's been like it for an hour. So I held down the power and volume button and it does exactly the same thing, reboots and get's stuck with the animation?
I can't turn if off or anything?
Can someone please help?

Have had similar problems would love a dev input here, think it has something to do with having to separately flashing a compatible kernel? Or a bug in cm recovery when whipe? Anyways flash meow kernel and ROM, then in twmp recovery wipe all under advanced, then reinstall cm, that should fix it for you.

Problem after battery drained

Need a quick advise.
I've been running with SLIM stable 4.2.2 for many weeks now without any issues.
Yesterday the battery was drained accidentally after a radio app was left running for many hours.
After recharging with the phone off, I turned it on, and the SLIM logo stayed on forever.
Re-booted into recovery and wiped caches, re-booted and still stuck on slim logo.
Re-flashed rom and gapps, wiped caches, and it went past the slim logo, did the upgrading android process, then got stuck on starting apps.
any ideas how to fix this ?

This is my reply to your post in Slim's post:
Did you do a FULL wipe with /system formatted? If you did, try to flash another the ROM to see if you can get through, then re-flash Slim. Good luck.

I'll try. thanks. was hoping I could avoid a full wipe. not sure why draining the battery would screw up the rom

Are you using AJK Kernel? If so try to reset STweaks Profiles and fix permissions.

[Q] Caught in boot screen

Hello,
I am running Slim Bean 4.1.1 on my Galaxy S2 for almost one year now. I never had any bigger issues with this rom until yesterday. My battery died so I plugged the charging device in and re-started the phone but the booting animation won't go away. I am caught...I can still get into the recovery but that's it.
Any ideas how to solve this issue?
Thanks in advance

Let the battery charge a bit until you boot it up, then see if you can boot into the rom. If you can't, boot into recovery and wipe regular cache and dalvik.
Best practice is to never let your battery die - these older devices (and some new ones as well) sometimes don't respond well to a complete discharge.

Thanks!! I tried wipe cache and dalvik. Now I was stuck in the "android is upgrading starting apps" loop. So I just decided to do a full wipe and re-install everything...

If you're going to do a full wipe why not just upgrade to KK? The JB Slim isn't supported anymore, but @cyril279 has a few options for you, should you chose that route:
SlimSaber: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772468
SlimKat: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2760074
