I have tried looking through all the ROMs but I have been unable to determine if any of the ROMs out there have implemented the bluetooth A2DP audio fix (bitpool setting change) for the ATT HOX+? I included kernel in the question because I have no idea where this setting is located.
As another question, is this something that can be changed in some file using a text editor or the likes or does it have to be changed and then recompiled? Could someone tell me how to do it?
thanks.

its not kernel
You are out of luck for now since there is no "daily ready"
AOSP based rom for the ATT version which includes that change
that has been incooperated into all custom AOSP based rom code
sources (CM10.1, AOKP, ...)
I dont know if there is a mod to inject that into a sense based rom
especially because sense roms use a completely different way
to handle BT

That is kind of what I had figured out but I was hoping I was missing something. I guess I'll go try the Elegancia thread to see if I can help get it implemented there.
Thanks for your help.

Well - try to find out if it has been done on ANY HTC device for sense roms
For AOSP its "braindead simple" to add

Maybe it isn't Sense limited? Lots of samsung folks with the same complaints.
Having said that, I don't think the HTC One X has this issue with stock ROM. Ugh!!!
Is there anyone here in HOX+ land that would be able to help me try changing the bitpool settings? I'm getting desperate!

Hey all...
Now that the official ICS has seen light of day, can I request some dev to make an official AOSP ICS ROM port from the GNEXUS devices...
In fact, I don't mind doing it myself if anyone can just point me in the right direction...I went through the guide here to port ROMs, but the thing is, all the downloaded stock ROMs are .img files and don't contain folders I can edit...
Who can help me...again, I don't mind making an attempt myself...any1??

If you are on cdma (i don't see you are american so i doubt it) on droidhive there is a cm9 based on ics so camcodere hw accel etc, if you are on gsm there is only the miui. The dev have some problem making the data working with the gsm patch on ics. So you can use the miui or wait the dev can fix the gsm patch (or if you are good on this help them fix it )

Ok... i'm not new here, but Android has changed a lot since last time i used it. I see many new things here, and i tried looking other threads but still have some confusions.
1. I know AOSP is the original source, and AOKP is the modified one, but can someone still tell me what's the difference? what what in the hell do they modify, and why do they need to modify, i guess the original ROM is better than the Kang.
2. Is CM a AOKP ?
3. Which one is better AOSP or AOKP?
4. What is a Kerenel ?
5. If i flash my phone with a ROM, what happenes to my Beats Audio ? If its gone, can i get the app from somewhere, cause its there in the gplay.

All roms have to be based on source, otherwise it's not android, it's just another mobile OS running on linux.
Kernels are not new, every OS has a kernel, GNU/Windows/OSX. A kernel is used for communication between the device at a H/W level and the software.

Good Morning,
I have looked around and am having a hard time finding an answer to this. Specifically, I have the DNA and a CM10 theme that I want to use. My understanding after research is that in order to use the Theme Manager you must have a ROM that was compiled with Theme Manager support?
If so, does anyone know of a ROM for the DNA that has Theme Manager support? Is it just a matter of finding a ROM that supports it? Im currently using Team Viper's ROM. Long story short, I want to use this theme: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mac.theme.Alloy.Red on my DNA.
Thanks!
You need to be running CM10.1 to use a CM10.1 theme

Did you forget to check the section labeled "Original Development"? There is a thread for CM10.1 in the top 5 or 6 threads. It isn't stable, but it's there.
I didn't forget, it's just not usable at this point. There is no voice support, play store support, etc. I was curious if there were any CM10 based ROMs. Also, someone told me that AOKP based ROMs support CM10 themes, do you know if that's true?

Theme Manager themes will work with any AOSP rom that has Theme Manager support. AOKP and CM builds with that built in will support those downloaded themes.
If there were any fully functional CM10.x/AOKP roms, they would be among the top threads in the Original sub-forum. You're not missing anything. CM10 is being worked on, but will take time. Once that's finished, it will have Theme Manager, I'm assuming.
Thanks mad, I never fully understood that. So AOSP has the ability, at compile, to support Theme Manager. Both AOKP and CM typically choose to include this, and are build from AOSP code. Does that sound about right? Either way, I will just have to wait for either an AOKP or CM build with Theme Manager support?
Thanks again for all the help, and sorry.

Yes but not purely default AOSP.
The thememanager was made by the CM team is is baiscally incorporated into any AOSP rom that isn't OTA because why not.
I'm about to give it a go with ROM porter tool
but I wan't to ask something initially,
if my phone is android 4.1 (custom rom) , can I port and use a 4.3 rom from somewhere else?
I am also aware that I need to make sure the phones specs are similar, what specs should be similar (pixel density, processor, screen size/resoloution, etc).
Can I use a custom rom for DX as a base?
If anyone knows any similar phones to the DX i will be very greatful
I also asume if I fail miserably I can simply boot into recovery and restore my backup too
I don't want to be rude but if you don't know how to update stock roms, how you can think porting roms?
You have to know how are working libs and decompile apks/jars.
And with Rom porter tool if you click a button the Rom is not ported.

No offense taken,
I have updated my stock rom ages ago btw , it was reverting back using ruu that was something that I wasn't clear on (wasn't sure if the hboot changed) because i didn't make a back-up.
This is gonna sound really naive of me but I watched the video with the rom porter tool and it seems complicated but the steps to port in the software seem fairly easy to follow too, plus if it doesn't work, I simply restore my backup :victory:
I don't think I have much to lose tbh...

I think i understand now :cyclops:
because there are no stable versions of cyanogenmod for dx, the possiibilty to port a rom is not going to be as good as you will carry the bugs from the base cyanogenmod over to the ported rom.
Now, if i use cm9, does that mean that I can only use ported roms that support ics or can i use a ported jb rom on cm9 base? im talking about this cm mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265338 (i am aware of the several bugs btw
-Bluetooth
-GPS
-Video recorder
-Internal memory
-Wifi tethering
-USB tethering)

You cannot port JB roms over ICS roms and viceversa, this because the kernel won't boot both of them.

Ouch,
So the main issue is trying to find a stable version of CM that runs JB or higher to use as a base to port roms over. But trying to fix the bugs are difficult because it is hard to find the problem and the CM website have not even released CM for dx.
Hey, first of all thanks alot for all the development and crazy amount of information going on in here
I have searched but unfortunately I couldn't find a solution to my problem so I'm asking here. I recently installed official Cyanogenmod 10.2 stable release on my i9300 international S3 (since CM11 gave me some bugs) and it's pretty great so far, but I've been searching a way to change the color settings of the screen. On CM there are some built in ones but I don't really like those. On the 4.3 Stock Samsung ROM there was "Professional Photo" or something like that that I did like. Does anyone know what I can do? If I understood correctly kernels can do that sort of stuff but I didn't find a kernel to suit my needs.
Thanks in advance

Yes you understood it correctly If your Planning to run a ROM based on CM Screen modes like Dynamic, Professional Photo etc Are available only through custom Kernel.
In Sammy as v all know you can change it under settings but for CM unfortunately you have to stick to Kernel Settings to do that.
Almost All popular Kernels Have that option under Screen>MDNIE mode
All you have to do is select the right kernel
Unfortunatly You asked a Question in this Thread and Also Gave an answer for the same.
Just remeber that for CM ul have to stick to some Externel Kernel as these options wont be available with stock CM 10.2 Kernel as well
Just as a recommendation give GoogyMax , Boeffla, Agni a try as these gave me really good results(Special Thx to Dev's of the same )

I've looked into GoogyMax and Boeffla but as far as I could tell they don't support color changing. If I do install them what can I do to change the colors?
And I have yet to install a kernel, does it come in a zip file that I can install in CWM?

Strange To hear that. Well ive never used Stock CM so cant Comment on that GPS issue.
