Hi, I have bought recently a cheap android tablet running jellybean 4.1.1 .
How can I root it ?
I have already tried superoneclick and root_with_restore.

i updated my ramos w17pro to android 4.1.1
but after the update i felt the device lag a bit and it also did not have root access.
so i decided to go back to stock 4.0.3
but it gave an error that ro.build.date is newer.
what should i do??

Yesterday i tried to root my tab.. The procedure seem to be going fine... But then when it restarted, the su is there as built in app but the terminal confirmed my tab as unrooted?
How to successfully root it?
I use universal rooter for ICS and JELLY BEAN!

Not sure if relevant, but the tablet was bought in USA.

I have seen the post you've linked here before I've posted my question (I definitely know how to use the search option ) but its seemed somewhat complicated/Indirect way compare to the simple ways of rooting I'm used to from my 2 other devices (SGS3, Nexus 4)
Is there any simpler/straightforward way?

Nope. There is no current exploit in 4.3 Sony firmware. So, you either unlock your bootloader, or do that process.
Wait till 4.4!
If I was you, I'd wait till KitKat upgrade comes out! after that I'd root my tablet

I tried with VROOT, but seems like there's no update yet. Was researching about 4.3 root methods, there a few, most of them you have to go back to 4.2 and then upgrade, but a direct root, no, I haven't found one yet :good:

tried Towelroot, Kingoroot, OneClickRoot, Framaroot...

Just give it a try... Towelroot don't cause any kind of bootloop so there's no risk at all

So I did tried it and says that phone isn't supported. In the meantime I searched around and found that there are 3 codes that I can put in. Tried all the codes but the app just froze.
