Hi,
My problem is somewhat similar to many posts.
The fastboot is not working.
Here is the issue:
I have rooted the phone.
Removed the SD card w/o unmounting.
Some of the apps turned out to be not working.
I decided to restart the phone.
It seemed to be doing so but repeatedly cycled after "Rethink Possible" having passed the M logo.
After numerous cycling, now the phone is starting but stuck ad red M logo "Dual Core Technology" screen.
Trying to enter into the fastboot mode via volume down (or even up) and turning on simply do not give any effect.
Interesting enough, I have also the Motorola Factory Cable and that does not heal my problems either; the computer simply does not recognize (though all my drivers are intact) the phone in RSD...
So the most obvious question to one I guess is: "Is this piece of technological advancement now a scrap?"
Thanks,
have you try this.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871

hi mate,
thanks for the prompt response, i appreciate.
this thread is giving instructions for a phone that is capable of going into the fastboot mode.
however, my case is somewhat tricky i guess; the phone stays still at red M dual core technology screen despite my attempt to power up via holding volume down button.
any further suggestions?
thanks,

hi xploited,
good advice but there is a small problem here
the phone does not turn on but stuck at red M logo dual core technology screen nor goes into fastboot mode.
i feel it is lost somewhere in the bermuda triangle or neo of matrix between the real world and the machine world...
so, the situation is simple as it can be; turning on attempt sticks at M logo or fastboot attempt sticks at red M logo... both show the same door...
i hope i was able to better clarify the status this time
what do you say?

Something definitely got screwed up in your land
What's your current setup? OTA 2.3.4? And you have flashed pudding already? An SBF flash would fully restore your system partitions to default. But if you have updated to official 2.3.4, you can't sbf 2.2.2 cause the phone will hard brick.
I would do a full sbf of 2.3.4 with pudding included. If you flashed pudding already this should be safe. If you haven't flashed pudding yet, you need second thoughts on this.

This might be obvious, but... have you tried official hard reset instructions? -
If that doesn't work, or if your phone is frozen:
Turn the power off. If your Motorola ATRIX 4G is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
Press and hold the Power and Camera buttons
Release the Camera button when prompted
Press and hold the Volume Down key
A yellow exclamation will appear on the display
Select Factory Reset and press OK

yes... maybe all possible way outs... all failed...
i guess the only solution for me is to somehow force the pc and the phone to speak...
i am not sure if that is still possible, but there could be a physical alternative, i.e. test point, etc. like the old phones...
i am sure there is a definitive cure to this problem but i am still seeking for

Alright man, good luck. Unfortunately, this is beyond my knowledge.
You might wanna PM one of the devs and ask if they know how to fix this (kholk, sam, faux, etc.)

it's very odd... could potentially be the hardware (volume buttons) are broken...
Take the Battery our and leave it out for a while. Leave it unplugged and power it back up while holding either up or down to see if you get a result. If not then it sounds like your volume rocker is fubared. No matter what you should be able to get into fastboot or rsd. The only instance that i have seen where the phone is dead is going back to an older build after ota gb, even then it gives an error.
Hey everyone! New to the SGS3 forums.
I am a developer still in the process of getting my SGS3 so i need one of your guys' help to get a stock rooted ROM up and running. Anyone interested in helping please PM me and i will add you on GTalk thank you all.
Well we don't have any roms yet, best I have is a backup of a stock rom with root access.

I'd be happy to tell you about how I bricked mine while trying to install a ROM...
I was able to root and install CWM... but after running through ROM install it won't power on.
Ugh this sucks.
Looks like I'm going to have to go the Sprint store and try and get a replacement... at least it doesn't power on at all. Hopefully they won't be able to tell I hacked it.
Yeah that does suck.. Hard lesson learned though. Only try ROMs for the Sprint version of your device.
I hope you get that cleared up!

Have you guys ever gone to the Sprint store to get a bricked phone repaired?
I'm hoping they just swap it with another phone and won't be able to tell I hacked it.
It doesn't power on at all. No boot loader, no download mode, no recovery mode... nothing.
You think they'll have a way to detect that I messed with it?

and lesson is learned. I'll wait a while before trying any ROMs again.
I went from the Nexus S 4G and loading roms on that beast was so easy I thought it was going to be easy on this phone too.
Anyways... lesson learned.
Thanks

Yeah. I heard about that. You should only flash roms made for your phone.
Getting it replacd shouldn't be an issue. The issue is, you may have to wait for them to get them in though.
____________
Just Flash It !!!
New phone on the way!
I was able to get a replacement sent from Sprint. Had to go to a corporate store and have a tech look at it first though. All they were able to do though was a battery test and then they gave up.
So new phone should be in by the end of the week.
Lesson learned... I will wait for a supported ROM.
i tried to flash a rom and when it finished it turned off and now it wont turn back on. i have tried going into recovery and going into download mode and nothing. do you think a usbjig will work? or can i return it and just say the phone wont power back on?
update: if i plug it in to my computer i can hear the notification my computer gives when i plug in a usb device but the tome is different. its like a deeper tone.
anyone?????
So, you can get into recovery or no? Maybe look here:

no. i cant get into recovery nor into download mode. the screen shows nothing at all and the phone doesnt vibrate. i did the tmobile chat and she said they might need to exchange it but would take 7-10 business days. i didnt tell her it was rooted tho. i was hoping the usb jig would unbrick it. i have an old usb from my other phone. i already cut it and stripped it but i need a 300k resistor and radioshack doesnt open in 1 more hour.
i just checked device manager and if i plug in my device it shows QHSUSB_DLOAD with a yellow exclamation.
update: i installed some drivers i found online and it now shows as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (com7) in device manager but odin wont recognize it still
so after doing the live chat with samsung and they wanted me to send them my phone to check it out and i had to wait 6-10 business days i went to my local tmobile store the guy tried to turn it on tried charging it and said to go back on wednesday because thats when they get them. so i am stuck with a loner phone.

You are wrong in this case because he hard bricked it, which is why he only sees the QHUSB_DLOAD mode.
That requires special software in order to flash, and we don't get access to it.

An unbrickable phone does not exist. The closest to unbrickable as you can get is an iPhone. But it can be bricked if you try hard enough I'm sure. Strapping an m80 to my iPhone seemed to do the trick as well

unbrickable phones do exist, almost all samsung galaxy phones are capable of getting the "unbrickable mod" which is a hardware modification that enables the phone to be re-flashed without working bootloaders. but unbrickable out of the box, no.

Hi! It's kinda complicated story. But I will try to explain it to you. I bought my xtz 2-3 months ago, I was running android 4.1.2 until the new update 4.2 was released , and here comes the complicated part! My friend unlocked my bootloader, and he didn't root anything(I don't know why). I was running 4.1.2. And everything was fine! Then, after like 1 day using my new 4.2, my xtz had non-responsive screen ,and was a little bit laggy. So I thought that I should restart my xtz. When I turned it off . I wasn't able to boot it up again! I tried charging it(last time it was 96%) and even vol+ + power etc didn't work. But it didn't want to boot up. I connected it to pc and it didn't recognize my xtz. I tried on ubuntu, mac os x, windows. None of these helped me. So my tablet wont boot up. And pc doesn't recognize it. I don't know how my friend did update it. I'm really new to sony xperia devices. And he has like 2 years of knowledge. So my question is. Is Sony going to give me a new one, or fix my xtz even if it has unlocked bootloader? Mostly I'm using my xtz to watch youtube, use Internet, skype, and office things and sometimes play some racing games .

How did you update to 4.2? The Sony developer site warns people not to update by OTA if you have unlocked the bootloader. See here : http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
Can't your experienced friend help you?
I don't think you've got any chance with Sony giving you a new one if it's caused by you unlocking the bootloader

How much is it going to cost, to get my xtz fixed? I'm going to take my xtz to sony in 2-3 days anyway. So we'll see what's the best solution. Thanks for help!
Try using Emma sonys own flashtool but power down your xtz first and then hold vol down while you connect the usb cable from the tab to the pc (Emma restores all default firmware and wipes everything)

Looks like my phone just died! :/
Found it off and wont charge via magnetic port and I can only get a solid red LED when plugged via USB but I left it a long time connected and got REALLY hot but wont power on no matter what combination of buttons....any ideas?
Looking at a C6833 or Huawei Honor x2 703L (or Mediapad X2 702L) as possible replacements now...
PS Decided to get the 6833 and keep this one for parts just in case...

Yep, tried all the possible combinations I can think off. I have been flashing phones for a while so I am pretty used to the usual stuff. I am almost sure I will get the 6833....I cant think of any phone to replace it yet...the mediapad was close since I wanted a bigger screen but not having NFC just kills it for me. :/

mmm dont think I have seem many issues with them really. It happens with any device so I already found a mint 6833 to replace it for $200. Couldnt find anything remotely as good for that price.
Waiting for a mediapad X2 like device with NFC before I change. :good:
hey would u kno why my phone reboots every time try to update it or try a custom rom on it the only rom i can have is 4.2.2 any ettempt to go up from that gives a constent reboot
