Ok so updated to this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2267199
Basically stock JB.
Flashed this modem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41107784&postcount=167
Can do literally everything without issue but send texts, and can receive them fine. I've tried reflashing( even a clean flash) does nothing. Tried reflashing the modem....does nothing.
Literally the only thing I messed with was I changed the message center number to my number. I really don't think that has anything to do with it though as no other app that sends texts work either. Here's some screenshots of my APN....I only have on available and it's non-editable.
Even if I could edit that stuff I have no idea what i'd put anyways.
Figured it out. For those that run into this problem here's what you need to do:
Put in this into your dialer. It'll take you to a hidden menu.
*#*#4636#*#*
If you're on AT&T enter this information into the smsc number:
+13123149810
Then go to phone information scroll to smsc enter number above and press update
There ya go you should be able to now send messages.
I found this information here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506812
This was in fact 100% my fault I believe from messing with the message center number. No idea why I messed with it other than I'm an idiot and play with things I shouldn't. lol

Quite a while ago, I flashed to DCD 3.2.6. After that, I noticed that I couldn't dial phone numbers from my contacts, but I could dial them directly. When I would dial using the contact, it would look like the call was going through, then I would get three error chimes and a message saying the call was disconnected.
Finally, I figured out that the difference is that in my contacts, the phone numbers all have "+1" before the number, i.e. "+1(206) 555-1212". This is the international prefix (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_international_call_prefixes#Syntax).
I assumed that this was a problem with DCD 3.2.6. However, I just flashed DCD 4.1.2, and the same issue is there. I suppose I could go through all 223 of my contacts and edit the phone numbers to get rid of the plus sign. However, this is the correct format for a number, and non-custom ROMs have worked fine with it.
Anyone got an idea of how to get the dialer with DCD 4.1.2 to work with these phone numbers? I'm guessing I just need to change some configuration relating to my International Prefix (U.S.) Alternatively, does anyone know of a ROM that does work with these phone numbers and also keeps the GPS and tethering (via Internet Sharing) working on my Verizon XV6800?
Thanks,
Jamie
Got it
Okay, I found it.
In the dialer application, go to "Menu", "Options...", "Services" tab, scroll down to "Plus Code Dialing". The rest is self-explanatory.
Hopefully, this will save someone else some time.

I am using CM7 and I change my phone number by going to Menu>settings>call settings>my phone number but after I shut my phone off it does not stick and it goes back to unknown phone number. Can anyone help me?
Also has anyone successfully used the My Phone Number app by Lytsing to fix this?
it just usually fixes itself....i did reflash back to JFD stock a couple of times and it added my number on there...might try that...but I called t-mobile abt it and they said it corrects itself eventually but I still reverted to stock anyway to correct it.
Like he stated, your phone number should automatically update in the phone. I've never seen an instance where manually updating it would fix it. Have you tried removing the sim, booting the phone, shutting it down, replacing the sim and then booting back up again?
Contacts>menu>More>Settings>Own Number>Menu>Create>Reboot

Thanks to all seemed like it fixed itself, but in cyanogen mod, in the aosp messaging, isn't it supposed to display my picture for messages that I send. I am a bit confused about that.
I had to call T-Mobile to get the number fixed on two of our three phones.
Search the forums (always a good idea), there is a procedure you can tell them to do which should fix it.

It does...you have to add yourself as a contact and it will show your picture
I've somehow lost the ability to send SMS's on my SGS II. Likely during one of my recent ROM swaps. I've tried entering the SMSC when dialing *#*#4636#*#* but it doesn't seem to accept it ... when I do refresh it shows up as "00". I'm quite sure that's the reason my SMS's are failing - it somehow doesn't have the SMS gateway number for my carrier.
I've tried doing full wipe, installing other ROMS, changed the radio, flash the CSC...nothing seems to work.
I'm travelling this week and will be swapping SIM's, I (sort of) hope that will force it to the SMSC for my prepaid carrier and that when I get home it will put in the local SMSC...but I'm probably dreaming.
Any ideas?
When I had that problem I did go messaging then to options and put my carrier message code there.

Can you still call people?

Awesome! That did it. Can't believe it was so easy after all that (for some reason no one has posted this fix elsewhere, because of course I did a ton of Google Searching). Thanks again!!!
I am having the same problem now, but with Galaxy I. I go to the hidden menu and I can't input the smsc myself. It shows up automatically as "00" and I can't change it.
When you mentioned, go to messaging and then options, you meant settings? I tried that but I don't see any option where I can insert the smsc number myself...
anyone who could help with this?
can't send galaxy I
I have a friend with a galaxy S version 1 that can't send texts, but can receive them anyone have some direction in which to go, I will give you a cookie
thanks

I just had this problem and did tons of searching and couldn't find the answer. I swear this should come up more. Anyway here's how I fixed it:
1. Make sure your radios are the latest
2. Check your SMSC number (this is what fixed it for me, link below)
wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/SMSC_Updates
is a good guide on configuring SMSC numbers (note that the AT&T number in the example is incorrect: it's missing a 9 as the third character)
Let me know if that helps!
I use Vibrant on the AT&T Network.
Recently I've been usin MIUI and Revamped flawlessly. They've been great.
Friday night MIUI (1.9.16) SS-6 came out, I was excited and did a full cache wipe+dalvik+factory fixed permissions and flashed. Went smoothly, no hic-ups, booted up and was happy. As I went through the day tho, I found out none of my SMS texts were going out. I would recieve but no one got any of my replies.
Strangely though I am able to send MMS messages. I know that they go out different ways so that would explain that.
I can make an recieve calls as well.
I've tried going back to SS-5, trying out LE-9, and Stock MIUI. (The current release and one previous.) Sadly the same result being unable to send SMS but able to recieve.
It does not have a continuous "Sending Status" it reports the messages as sent. With a timestamp.
Also tried sending from GoSMS, same result. I don't know if this problem has ever happened before.
Help is greatly appreciated.
Your message center number might be missing. Try the following method to look up and enter the number. Might be worth a shot.

07913121139418F0 Might be the number you have to add but you double check anyways.
Thank you very much. Solved.

Hi, out of nowhere now it seems I can't recieve SMS. I can send them though. If I put the SIM in another phone I can recieve SMS again, but the ones that I didn't get doesn't show up either, like's they've been delivered only nothing happened on my phone.
I don't want to wipe anything so apart from the obvius (wipe, kernel, change rom, etc) is there anything I can do or try or test or look for to see if everything is working as it should?

Check your APN's with your carrier. I have no idea why they would change out of nowhere, but check nothing has been deleted etc
I'll do and come back to you. Thanks.
EDIT
Checked, that's not it. As I said, the messages are recieved if the SIM is put in another phone. It's like something is preventing them to show.
EDIT 2
I ended up wiping everything but in case someone is interested, I suspect from Greenify.
