Yes, I tried to delete and create again slot. Yes, I'm using slot1.
Here's (step by step) how I'm trying to install CM:
1. I'm rooting phone with Razrs Edge Windows
2 Innstaling Safestrap 3.11 app. When running it it has superuser access
3 Clickin in "Install recovery" -> "Recovery state: Installed"
4 Reboot phone
5 Safestrap splashscreen appears -> hitting menu button
6 I'm in safestrap menu
7 "Boot options" -> "Rom-Slot-1" -> I'm choosing 2GB of data partition size -> "Create Rom Slot"
8 I'm waiting a few minutes
9 Everything looks fine
10 Going to main menu -> "Wipe"
"Cache"
"Dalvik Cache"
"Factory reset"
11 Going to main menu -> "Install"
12 Looking for zip with rom (I tried CM stable, RC5 and latest nightly)
13 Flashing rom. Everything looks fine
14 Going to main menu -> "Wipe"
"Cache"
"Dalvik Cache"
"Factory reset"
15 Going to main menu -> "Reboot"
Then Moto logo appears, later Safestrap splashscreen, after 10 seconds CM logo
It spinning
1 minute
2min
3min
5
It still spinning
10
15
30
WTF
What am I doing wrong?
Does anybody can confirm I'm flashing CM right?
I'm trying over and over again and it's not working
You're doing it right. Thats the correct procedure. Though step 14 is unnecessary.
However there might be a chance that your downloads are corrupted. Try redownloading the files.

I have the same problem. I could use any rom before. Then after restoring phone with flash IT i cant install any of cm10.1 based roms. I tried about 15 roms: different versions of cm and aokp - same result. Rom just cant boot bootloop or just black screen forever. Same result with bootmenu and with safestrap.

I got into boot loop when i tried CM for the first time. Then tried another ROM, again boot loop. Then downloaded and pushed EU Jelly Bean using RSD Lite and its working great now.

All I can infer from posts above is it appears as a kernel incompatibility issue. Looks like your kernel won't allow kexec to boot the Rom. Its consistent with all kexec based ROMs so thats the only thing that could affect.
Since there aren't many people flashing CM over ICS kernel, this might not have been reported.

Where in the last days I switched between(ish) cm-10.1.0 cm-10.1.2 and cm-10.1-20130715-NIGHTLY-umts_spyder.zip. Wasn't too stable (perhaps Navigon problems?) so I went on trying those versions.
This night I tried to install the cm-10.1-20130717-NIGHTLY-umts_spyder.zip and since got stuck in bootloop since.
Safe Strap: Wipe / Factory reset didn't get me out of there.
Hi again,
I just found solution for my problem with boot loop:
I just removed my sd card
and CM boots correctly
Something is wrong with sd card - it is visible and working well with stock ics, but when I start CM and insert card, CM can't see this card
Sent from my XT910 using xda app-developers app
removed safestrap....
Since I like to use the memory of the external card I:
removed safestrap and back on "Stock" XT910 / 4.1.2
updated to 982.124.14.xt910.Retail.en.EU
So I got all the Memory and a working system back.
Even though I kinda "love" CM I couldn't warm up to the (still genius) memory management of safestrap.
Also I didn't get a really smooth running CM - system.
Perhaps it is Navigon related that I now and then really depend on. And no, not in every part of the country the google maps gets its info via online.
My next step is to root.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2202695
And in a couple of months I hope to find myself with a completely cracked (bootloader without safestrap) + CM stable.
format system is work
CM 10.1 boot loop
All,
Thanks in advance for any help. My XT912 was working great on the Cyanogenmod 10.1, until it became stuck in boot loop. I've tried all the steps mentioned above, to include wiping cache, FDR and removing the SD card - all to no avail.
I've also pushed the libskia.so file via: adb push ~/path/to/libskia.so /system/lib. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38591638#post38591638 - is there a similar file for the RAZR?
I'm able to use safestrap to go back to the stock ROM but i've had the taste of CM and can't get it out of my mind now!

Safestrap Bricked my Bionic Wednesday night
I used to run CM on my OG. I have always rooted my phones, relying completely on exploits found on these forums. I lost my Bionic in the forest last week and got my replacement Tuesday. After rooting it, I became nostalgic for a ROM that is devoid of bloatware. Casting around, I found good references for CM. So, I installed Safestrap 3.11 and downloaded the latest stable version of CM and booted into Safestrap recovery. So far, so good. I then configured a ROM slot 1 and tried to install CM into it. That may have been a mistake on my part since I have no experience with Safestrap and other users' posts seemed to indicate that they could switch between OS's by switching between ROM slots. Anyway, it didn't work and I couldn't boot back into my phone. So, I tried to restore my backup into Stock. That image didn't load. Presently, I could no longer get to Safestrap recovery and just got a black screen. That was late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning (8/15/2013). I tried getting to the normal recovery application and I could boot into the menu but, when I tried to select recover, instead of allowing me to navigate to my backups (or any other recovery file), I was presented with the dead robot image. After each dead end, only a battery pull would power off the phone. After messing around for a while with the recovery tools menu, I found that the sbf flash option appeared to be functional.
So, after researching how to use it, I downloaded the latest version of RSD Lite that I could find (along with the MKT patch, whatever that does) and tried to push the Verizon published zip file for the 4.1.2 OTA. Somewhere during the process and before it started pushing images, it hit an XML error and stopped. So, then I did some more research and found that someone had created a file with a patch for the XML error. Again using RSDLite, I pushed that file to my phone. It worked and, after it flashed the image, I had what was basically a factory reset phone. So I reconfigured it an rooted it using the Ubuntu exploit again.
However, when I boot into recovery and select the recovery option, I still get the dead robot icon. I tried reinstalling and uninstalling Safestrap but I still get the same dead robot behavior. With Safestrap recovery installed, I can boot into recovery and see my original backup files but I am afraid to use any of the functionality because Safestrap borked up my phone so badly the first time and I don't want to try to recover from a bricked device state. But I would like to get the recovery program working again just in case I need it to apply a package someday.

Hi guys,
I'm quite the newbie to advanced techniques of rooting/unlocking/flashing as this is my first Android!
Nevertheless, I successfully rooted my Live With Walkman WT19i (4.0.A.0.58) using the Zerg rush method.
Then I installed ClockWorkMod Recovery 5.0.2.7-nAa-r2(ported by nobodyAtall) and made a Nandroid backup.
Later I followed Sony's official guide on unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions to unlock my bootloader. To check if the unlock was successful, I went to the Service Menu where it said Bootloader Unlocked: Yes.
Then placed CM 7.2 coconut on the SD card, booted into Recovery, wiped data and cache partition, install ZIP from SD card. It then gave me an assert error (something along the lines of Status 7 error, Installation Aborted). So I read somewhere to remove the first line from META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script in my CM 7.2.0 ZIP package. So I once again tried installing ZIP from SD card. This time no error showed up. I got a message like ZIP updated or something. Then I restarted the phone and now its stuck for around 10 minutes on the 'Sony Ericsson' initial screen. No sign of CyanogenMod bootscreen either.
Consequently I can't enter recovery mode too. (because the Vol down button needs to be tapped just BEFORE the Sony Ericsson screen vanishes (which doesn't vanish at all now!))
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Is the phone 'bricked'? Thanks!

You have to flash a compatible cm 7.2 kernel. You can use the one that comes with the downloaded zip. Or you can use the ported rage kernel for cm 7.2.

Thanks a bunch there mate! I was still on stock kernel! I flashed boot.img from the CM 7.2 ZIP. Initially it got stuck in a (boot?)loop and I saw that the same stuff kept happening through
Code:
adb logcat
but after a restart, it works fine. Except that gApps, specially Market sometimes works and sometimes doesn't on wifi!
Thanks again! Its a huge world out there about flashing/unlocking/kernels/ROMs and stuff so I guess it's somewhat easy to get lost!
Heres what I did:
The other day I updated to TWRP 2.3.0.0. That seemed to work fine, but it may be part of the cause here. So that's my recovery.
Today I:
Downloaded latest CM9 nightly
Opened Goo Manager
Told it to flash that Nightly+4/29 gapps and do dalvik/cache wipes.
And hit Install.
I left the room for a while, and when I came back, I noticed it was boot looping after the CM logo(never makes it to the animation). So I booted into webOS, redownloaded the nightly from my PC, and moved in onto the TP from there. Then I tried to boot into TWRP to flash it, and it gets as far as the Team Win logo then it resets and goes back into moboot.
So, I safely boot into webOS, but neither CM or TWRP will load up. What can I do to get android back up and running w/o losing my data?
If not possible, how do I get android up and running at all?
I had been on the nightly before this one so it was running fine before.
Should I try to use Acmeinstall2 to reinstall an earlier version of TWRP?

I would use ACMEUninstaller then in webos from preware run Android uninstall as it clears out the boot folder .
After that yes do a normal installation using ACMEInstaller 2 or 3 , if using 3 gapps also needs to be renamed so that it begins update- .
Below is a link for TWRP 2.2 .
https://www.box.com/shared/dvtih92a2zwebe550mnj .
Which you can install after you're up and running safety with with the normal clockwork recovery.
PS someone else on this forum had the same problem.
Good luck .

Does this allow me to retain the data on CM or will it delete it? I don't guess it matters really, I just would like to know before trying.
Also, I went ahead and tried using ACMEInstaller2 to install TWRP and the latest nightly, and it makes the TP go into the linux command line install screen its supposed to go to, but it does it really fast. Not sure if its installing or not.

Normally I just put the latest nightly renamed to begin update- , moboot, gapps 04/29 and cmw https://www.box.com/shared/0dc8571f09a8f285df59 into the cminstall folder then run ACMEInstaller2
After that you can use cmw to install the TWRP zip or unzip and copy the TWRP ulimgage to your boot folder with the free version of Rom
Toolbox pro then deleting the cmw ulmage .
Well, I'm trying to get ACMEInstaller2 to work, but its not flashing *anything.* Not CM, not gapps, not CWM.
Its what I used to flash CM9 initially, so I know it works. And I put all of the zips in the cminstall folder, but after I type in the
novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller2
It goes to the Linux screen, and scrolls through about 10 seconds worth of text, then reboots. And of course I have no moboot.
Anything else I can try? As it stands, I have no moboot.
Posted by Mr. Z's Galaxy S3.
It sounds like your boot partition is full. It is located at /boot. You need to get some spare kernels off there. Adb can clear it out. Classic Nerds have a utility to clear out extra kernels. I'm sure there are other techniques. there is probably something at preware to do it. The boot partition isn't big. With webos, cwm, twrp, teamwin, cm etc. it is full. It doesn't give any good error messages either. It just tries to boot a half image and loops.
I am thinking that your boot folder has to much crap in it . Did you you run the Android uninstaller from preware as I suggested after using ACMEUninstaller?
I've been running the Cyanogen Mod 10.1 nightly's and yesterday my tablet crashed and rebooted but would not go past the boot animation. I tried restarting it many time but it only boots to the animation. I booted into bootloader mode and wipted everything and tried installing an older nightly and the wingray gapps. It still is stuck not booting up only showing the spinning boot animation. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Is there a way to update to a working rom though odin? I can't figure out how to do that.

Yes, you can use odin to flash a rom, but it must be a stock rom, after which you will need to root your device again, install CWM recovery and then flash the nightly again. To use odin, you will need to put the device in download mode connect to the pc after activating odin and when the device is recognised (one of the boxes will light up in yellow) then put the extracted firmware in PDA of odin and click start. If successful, a green PASS will show in odin. Disconnect the device and wait for the device to boot up. You can try ICS 4.0.4 which is commonly available in Samsmobile.

For the bootloop, you can try to Wipe Cache/Dalvik.
But honestly, every new update that is pushed out, it's harder for our tabs to manage. So unstable to keep it up-to-date with every version, haha.
Thanks! I'll be going back to stock when I return home from work. Does anyone know where I can get CM 9 or 10 nightlies or stable ROM?
Hi all,
I've been on the CM 10.1 nightlies for some time now, but wanted to try out CM 10.2. I'm on the ICS bootloaders and was using TWRP 2.6.0.0. After wiping everything but the SD card, and attempting to install 10.2, I've had nothing but bad luck with any ROM I try to install. I can install and boot 10.2 Diamond ROM by AAcount, but as soon as I try to connect to wifi I reboot and get stuck at the CM animation. Any other rom (4.2.2 or 4.3) I try to install can't get passed the Samsung logo or the initial CM animation. I've wiped, reflashed bootloaders, tried CWM 6.0.3.6 and had to resort to adb sideloading my ROM's since I kept getting "failed" messages when trying to install the ROM from the tablet directly.
Does anyone know what I can do to help fix this? (At this point I just want ANYTHING to load/work)
I have the P4WIFI model.
Update 1:
One of the error messages I get when trying to install via TWRP -
"E:Unable to open zip file.
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/Download/gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip'"
And via adb sideload -
"failed to write data 'protocol fault (no status)'"

Last time I experienced something like that, the culprit was inadequate memory. Take a look at that.
Secondly, when you said you wiped everything, hope it includes formatting system under Mounts and Storages. If it doesn't then you need to do it for a clean installation.
Cheers.

With lollipop and above you need to use safe strap 3.75. reflash with rsd then root then install safe strap. There are two versions of safetrap. One version is by stargo and the other is safe strap for unused partitions. Good luck. If you run into problems just hit me up.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I cant seem to get through SafeStrap no matter what I do.
I can only do the following:
1. RSD Lite - But CANT boot normally. ONLY BP TOOLS
2. Install BMM through BP TOOLS boot
3. Install and successfully boot ONLY 1 ROM - PA for Razr (All other ROMs give me a bootloop)
What I can't do -
1. Boot Normally (without BP TOOLS)
2. flash any ROM - I tried Lineage 14.1 , MIUI, Stock Razr ROM
3. Install SafeStrap - Keep saying Safestrap is deactivated etc
Update 1:
Following the instructions here:
http://www.droidforums.net/threads/how-do-i-install-safestrap-please-help.240178/
I did exactly that and there is progress
I removed BMM the right way, and I installed Safestrap successfully
I even created a slot1
I flashed Lineage OS 14.1 on it...
However, as always, it is stuck on the Lineage OS boot screen - the small circle going on the curved line from right to left
I can never get past this for some weird reason.
Is my download corrupted?
Update 2:
IT WORKED! I am IN!
Lineage OS 14.1!
ITS AWESOME!
Glad to hear you got it working

BUT oh well..life is NEVER as straight as that..I should have realised that...
Now, I can't flash any other OS on the Stock Slot. I am stuck with PA. I tried 4 different ROMs. All flash in less than a second and say 'Successful'. When I boot into Stock, its still PA.
Is it because they are BMM compatible and not SS?
