You could try volume down and power for factory reset screen, but it will wipe your internal storage.
will try that next. Going to try and flash the ics files first.
Nothing. Can get no recovery of any type! Just stuck at either att screen or download mode.

That would get you to stock ROM but it would still be rooted and unlocked.
Maybe keep trying the power and volume down.

So I've had my Verizon S4 rooted since I got it a few weeks ago and today I decided to put a custom ROM on it.
I installed TWRP Recovery via GooManager
I installed Hyperdrive RLS2 Android 4.2.2 ROM. I booted to it, it ran fine. I rebooted my phone and now it will not turn back on. I get stuck at the Galaxy S4 screen with the unlocked padlock icon. Sometimes I can boot into TWRP recovery but then it just hangs on the "Teamwin" blue screen. How do I get out of this?
Any help is greatly appreciated
-Ben
Edit: After numerous battery pulls and restarts I finally got back into recovery, flashed OUDHS recovery, wiped data, cache, reinstalling Hyperdrive RLS2 Android 4.2.2 ROM via OUDHS

You may want to do a stock restore and then resetup your roms.

Did you put it in the PDA field? IT should be working. Worked fine on other peoples phones. Also did you extract the file? It's compressed. Use winrar to extract it. www.rarlabs.com.

I did extract, it is a 2.55GB .tar.md5 file. I'm not sure why it won't work, I am familiar with ODIN as I have previously used it to root the phone. I am trying to download the one click executable restore now and try my luck with that...

If Odin still connects you can flash the stock ROM and start over again.
I agree. Restore back to stock and retry. Links in my sig should help you.
Why were you trying to flash CM9? That doesnt even exist for are phone. You should really check what you are downloading and file names before you just go and flash it.

Hey guys I'm having the same issue. I rooted my phone and tried to flash CM but it didn't seem to work. I get the message "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again". I'm still able to get to odin and it is recognized but fails every time I try to load the tar via Odin. Any help would be much appreciated!

I downloaded the Google Edition ROM last night and somewhere it went wrong. Now when I try to reboot, the yellow triangle comes on and I can only get back to the this ROM. Here is what it says:
System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest Verizon Wireless store for help.
I want to go back to the stock 4.2.2. How do I do that, thanks.
Mine or nitro's? And what did you flash AFTER the GE rom? Was it a kernel? Where did you get it?
That message only comes up if you foul up a kernel install or recovery install.
Both are fixable by an MDK stock kernel Odin package. I'm not linking it because it's in the how to root topic. So if you are here, you should already have it.

Yes, each time I try to reboot, the same error comes up and I can't go further.
try pulling the battery. Put it back in. Hold volume up and power until it vibrates and then let go of power but continue holding volume up until you see the blue text in the left hand corner.
See what recovery it boots into, or if it even does.

I'd boot into download and just flash the mdk kernel. It'll fix it up.

So I am having a similar issue. I accidentally flashed a non-loki'd recovery. Now I am trying to figure out a way to install a loki'd recovery but cant figure it out. I need an odin tar of something... I may just go back to the stock mdk build and start from scratch with root.
I just can't flash any ROM at all, I can't even do a factory reset.
Here is where I've been the last hour.

yeah assuming you're using the stock ROM, Samsung's bootloader likes to revert any modifications you make to the system upon reboot. i've found this out through my own research.
the solution is to flash the gingerbread bootloader, which is here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/72206619/GBBootloaders.tar
flash this through Odin in the PDA section.
you might want to reflash the CWM that you used along with the superuser zip too. just in case those don't work.

Need more details, what bootloader are you currently on? Looks like if you need a stock ODIN image for your corresponding bootloader.

SS 3.72 is a recovery, but if you're on NC5, NG6 or something you can take a look at this thread and use ODIN to flash the stock image.
