BUMP if like to know too
That's a good question. How do you know that Voodoo Color is having its effect? Any way to toggle it to see the difference?
There was a Voodoo Toggle on the market...might toggle color as well?
No, just enables/disables Voodoo.
I remember the Eclair X-Mod kernel by JAC had Voodoo color and you could tell because the lowest brightness brightness setting was lower!
galaxy s tuner app from market has color adjust option if u can adjust your colors from there u have voodoo color , and if you dont have this app (its free) your vibrant SUCKS ASS so get the app ,and u can notice that icons have more color in them witrh voodoo color more saturated colors that no ipho0ne will ever achieve
Thanks bartek!
Look within Supercurios voodoo project site, he has a write up on what you should be able to notice when using voodoo color..

The auto-brightness on the thunderbolt doesn't work very well as it is almost always too bright. when i'm in a super dark room it seems to still be running at 50% brightness, which is far to high.
CM has a way to tweak the levels of auto-brightness by way of adjusting what screen brightness setting is assigned to a certain level of the light sensor.
so it seems clear that there is a way to bake this into custom roms.
Can this be put into a .zip file so that we can just update our current rom instead of flashing a custom one?
I've gathered some information that this should be in liblights (or something similar) and possibly in the kernel as well.
If anyone is willing to help me bake a custom rom that is a unique rom i'd much appreciate it, but i think the community would benefit as a whole if we found a solution for everyone.
I agree with you 100%, the auto brightness on this phone is wack. Completely dark room in the middle of night and the phone's screen is so bright it hurts my eyes.

Yeah it WILL NOT dim down to min in a completely dark room. I'm dying for CM so I can fix this. I use the power widget in the notification dropdown thanks to the Das BAMF ROM I'm using to dim to min at night sometimes.
I tweaked the auto brightness levels to be lower in my rom if you wanna check it out.
Very nice thank you for the post

Hmm that's a bummer and kinda makes me wonder why so many people use it
The prime reason people use Bali is for the excellent battery !!
all kernels have voodoo colour dont they
people say by default it adds more colour and sharpness to the screen i think but i havent really noticed a difference

It really is only noticeable at 100% brightness, but the difference is incredible when you do notice it.

still loving the battery, its definately better than gb but gb was faster .... thanks
If you want a quick way to tell the difference between stock and voodoo color, open up gmail. The sharpness artifacts are glaring on stock, and not present with voodoo color. HUGE difference. Voodoo color is a big improvement.
You know that a gingerbread rom makes a color when you push it to high or to low on the screen right ? I flashed AGA-Rom 1.3.5 and the color is blue... Can someone teach me how to change the color...
You mean the overscroll effect?

The overscroll effect colour comes from the theme as far as I know. Correct me if I'm wrong. I've never seen any other color than the default golden one which comes with Mik's ROM.
What theme ? and how do I change it ?

I can confirm that it comes with the theme. ROMs based on Cyanogenmod support themes. I've no idea whether your ROM supports any theming. Please confirm from the ROM's thread about this.

which led? the notification one? if so use light flow from the market.
Yep I think OP is wanting to know more about an App like light flow myself...

You can use the "sky blue" color now with Light Flow, that hasnt always been available.
With the next build of CM7 you will be able to use all the colors too, directly from CM Settings.
