[Q] Omega installed, ext memory card? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Having installed Omega on my international i9300, my ext mem card is not showing, can someone tell me what I need to do to get it working again?
Many thanks

If you don't have any important data, formats it into FAT32 by using computer or whatever.
If you can't afford to loose your data, try flash an exFAT supported kernel

That's right, probably it's exFAT formatted, try flashing Boeffla kernel, it supports exFAT and at the same time it's an amazing kernel.

I don't get it, first the problem was you don't see the extsdcar, and now it doesn´t boot?
Can you enter recovery mode? do a wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik.

The ext mem was not being recognised having installed latest omega, , so I followed your advice, flashed the boeffla-kernel-2.12.tar, using odin on my laptop, now, I turn the phone on, it only displays Samsung i9300, then nothing, I try to enter download mode or recovery pressing volume down, power and home, no responce.
Previously I had installed some rom management software on my i9300, I thought that might affect my ability to enter recovery.download mode.
Please advise.

Remove rom management wipe phone and flash stock rom .

Flash Philz recovery touch from ODIN also-> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002953 - > http://d-h.st/users/philz_touch/?fld_id=16049#files -> philz_touch_5.07.1-i9300.tar.md5
Probably you have a CWM not compatible with extFAT
Or try to flash a stock ROM with ODIN, and then start from zero again if nothing else work.

Thanks, having flashed stock rom, flashing philz_touch_5.07.1-i9300.tar, (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2201860) using odin results with Fail, could someone tell me the odin flash options to pick, as this frustrates me.
Flashing boeffla-kernel-2.12.tar always makes my i9300 not run, does not work.
Many Thank!!

Here are the odin options for Philz, be sure to root it also, in that post you will find all the steps.
Later flash boeffla from recovery with the zip one

Looking @ boeffla it says on the site:
Note: This kernel is only for Samsung based Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.x) roms!!! Do not install it on CM or AOSP based roms!!! And do not install on latest Samsung 4.2 leaks !!!
I am running 4.2.2, is it ok, to flash it?
Q: pressing power button holding, no option to boot into recovery, how can I change this?

Ow, that's the reason that explains all, don't use boeffla with 4.2.2, there are no kernels yet that I'm aware of for that firmware.
I don't recommend you 4.2.2 yet, not perfect yet.
For recovery, you have to press power+home+vol up, then release power button (not the others) once you see the first logo.

As said no kernels for 4.2.2 though the leaked rom is itself very stable for a beta rom .

Tegrak also wont work. I guess kernel issues. Maybe both probs are due to this?

Error mounting /sdcard!

Hello, I'm using Cyanogenmod 9 ok for 2 weeks and today I've tried to test MIUI. I have just placed miuiandroid_GT-I9100-2.9.7.zip into my internal sd card then "install zip from sdcard" in CWM v.5.5.0.4. Everything was ok on the installation but MIUI doesn't load. The problem i have is that i do not have any backup of my old Cyanogenmod and i also don't have any other rom in my internal sdcard to install. If i could install a ROM from external sdcard it will be great but when i try to mount it i get this message: "Error mounting /sdcard!".
I have a Samsung Galaxy SII I9100, i bought it of another person (who was rooting it and so...).
What can I do?

Only in Settings > About.
But since your phone can't boot properly, I'd recommend you to flash Siyah through Odin, then flash MIUI through CWM.

Hello, I installed SiyahKernel S2-v4.1.4 from here: gokhanmoral dot com using Odin3 1.8.5. Now when i run the galaxy it shows me the Siyah's logo but nothing happens, also i can't enter to the CWM using volume up + home + power button. Am I missing something? Odin3 told me everything was ok.
Thank you very much.
I can get in the download mode... Is there a way to install cwm again using odin?

I really tried but I cant flash a ROM for my ACE "i"

Hello everbody,
I tried many times but it doesnt work!
Here's the steps Im doing:
- Flash my phone with ODIN, everything works.
- I check in the apps if Im superuser: i am
- I enter the recovery mode and enter the CWM
- I do all the wipe
- I install the rom from SD
- install successfull
-I push back and reboot the system
now the problem comes out.
The cell its like freezing on the "Samsung Galaxy Ace GT..." screen, I tried to wait up untill 1 hour, but nothing happen.
note: if I try to shut it down with the power button, it turns on again, but freezes everytime on the same screen
note2: if I try the button.combo to get in the Recovery mode, it doesnt function
What I do next?
I enter the "Download mode" and re-flash the phone with ODIN
Flash stock first. When wiping dont wipe system. Some roms dont like wiping system.

Link to the rom, you are trying to flash?
If you are on stock rom you'll be on stock recovery (RED one!)
You have to install ClockWorkMod Recovery from stock recovery and flash desired rom from there...

Try to change kernel. Use stock one in ace i sure and flash. If it doesnt work after flashing the rom you want, try rafaels or hell locks kernel.
Even than nothing works flash stock. Use iamareebjamals boot extractor script. Flash custom rom as usual. Use the extracted boot image to recover stock boot. And if this works root your phone. It shoul be ok than.
Good Luck...

Different recovery

Hello I've install the ClockworkMod Touch Recovery 6.0.1.2 but he's different that the screenshots I've found on the web.
On mine I have this one :
reboot system nom
apply update from ADB
apply update from external storage
wipe datafactory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
So I can't see how I could install a new Rom from a Zip file for exemple, what is the problem ?
thanks for your answers.
You have stock recovery, not custom. Either you didn't flash correctly or you have stock firmware which will restore stock recovery on each boot.
Go read the sticky threads as you are missing some basic knowledge.

[Q] S2 fails to boot, suspected dead..HELP!

Hi,
My old Galaxy S2 (i9100 - rooted with Siyah) randomly rebooted and failed to boot since. I ordered a new Anker 1900mAh battery but nothing doing, same goes for different charger/outlet.
I don't know what could be wrong or what else I could do. Is the data on the internal salvageable at all? Some of it is backed up but most of it no.
Please help me with any suggestions!

No that doesn't work either
I'm starting to think it's probably the Siyah. But I'm not sure what version of Siyah I had on the phone to reflash. Also, will the reflash erase my internal data files?
Please advise.
Bump, can anyone please help me?
Will reflashing the Siyah erase all my internal data? or is there a reflash method via odin that'll keep my internal data?

No, reflashing siyah will not wipe your internal data. You can flash siyah under ODIN, CWM or TWRP. Siyah is not under development any more so I'd advise you to use a different kernel. If your android version is stock jelly bean, go with apolo kernel 4.14. If on kitkat, go with apolo 7.1.
Thanks. I'll just reflash siyah because its what I have and I'm not proficient with GS2. I need to remember what ver I had. Can't use cwm because the phone doesn't boot at all, can't go to recovery. Odin is my only choice here.
