[Fixed] htc one not accepting headphones - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

Well yea i got my one finally ^^, but it seems to not like my skullcandy ink'd earbuds they have a mic on em and they work fine but the mic and button is broken. on my laptop and evo 4g they work. But my one will not play audio through them other earbuds work on the one. So im curious why myn dont work.
Also. I typed this up on my one while listening to music through the speakers :3 man i love this phone...
EDIT: Fixed this issue just pulled off the button for the mic with my finger nails. and just poked around the PCB in there. not sure what i did but it started playing audio through the earbuds a few seconds after i took the button off

Classy

Yea I think somethings shorting out. As when I push the cables soldered to either end it works no clue why... The earbuds work fine without need of twidling the cables on my other devices.

Head phone jack problems?

I noticed after using the Thunderbolt that I could only hear off and on from the Left ear - the Right was fine. I thought it was the headphones so I went & purchased new ones and after that plugged my phone in using my aux port in my Jeep and the same problem. Its only playing from the Right side speakers*-- so with (2) pairs of headphones & the car I am thinking its the phone?
Any one else had this problem?

my thunder bolt is rooted if that helps

I noticed with mine I had to push the headphones down kinda hard to get left and right audio. Probably not good for the jack though
No, thats not a storm. Its just my Thunderbolt layin down this post.
I have noticed the same thing...with that, and the sleep button, I am not impressed with the build quality of these devices.

Same with me...I get worried everytime I plug something in
Sounds like the headphone jack shorted out. I had the same issue with my og droid. I'd unroot it and get a replacement.

I have to push mine in hard also or I only get sound from one side. Also on phone calls the other person can't hear me if the head phones are plugged in
Does the pair of headphones have a Mic? If they don't then that makes sense on why they can't hear you. I'm rockin headphones now and don't have to shove them in the jack.

Skullcandy Earbuds

OK so whats the deal with skullcandy earbuds w/ mic and the x10!? my media app auto starts when I plug them in, and its all crappy sounding without holding in the mic button on the wire... and dont even think about taking a call with them because if you let go of the button it will hang up!!! Talk about a BUG !
So I guess my reason for posting is to give people a heads up and to ask- is there something to be done about this besides purchasing SE's headset? Something I can install? I am confused if this is a hardware or software problem- or both? The skullcandy's worked great with my blackberry..
sooooo no answers nothing i guess..I was hopin to get a reason why the fcking media app auto opens its pissing me off beyond belief.
It's a problem with the phone.. My Droid X did that for a while and it annoyed the hell out of me until Verizon came out with a update to fix it.. Call your phone company..

Me too having this problem. I have to use a paper clip to clip on the mic part so sound will be normal.

I hope gingerbread update in august will fix the problem. I sent SE an email.
my skull candy earbuds work PERFECTLY fine with or without the inline mic wire...
no distortion, no needing to hold down the mic button, nothing.
just crisp sound.
dont know why your having that problem

Headphones That Work?

The mic/remote button on my Dell Streak headphones doesn't do anything with the Note . Does anyone have a set that works with it? And what does the mic/remote button do during calls (the Streak used to mute the microphone).
havent tried calling with the dell headsets.. but the button does pause and unpause the music player.
Klipsch s4a are made for android devices. Feel kinda flimsy but are really good

Really? which player were you using? I can't get the button to work on either Google Music or the "Music Player App."
Oddly enough the iphone ones work

I'm an idiot, the case was preventing the phones from plugging all the way.
The single-button headphones that came with my iPhone 3G work great. The 3Gs ones with the three buttons don't mic.
Tested these at the store and they seem to work well: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B003OE30KQ (tested using mortplayer, the only player i use)
I use the Sony Ericsson Hi-Fi Bluetooth Stereo Headset with FM Radio. I'm not able to post links yet but I got it on Amazon.
I don't like regular bluetooth head sets that hang on your ear but its a pain for me when the headphones are attached to the phone. This is the best of both worlds for me. You clip it on your shirt, collar, or where ever and put the ear-buds in.
I got my husband the black one first then I got the white one for myself.
You can sync it with 3 different devices at a time. It's really great if you like to sleep and listen to music as your phone is in a safe spot.
thanks for posting this, i am wondering the same thing.
my iP 3GS earbuds only play sound, the buttons don't work and the mic don't work, so i can't use it to speak on the phone with
i guess i will look at the klipsch recommendation
*EDIT* oh nvm, i aint spending $90 on earbuds LOL.

They are REALLY GOOD.
i got sol republic amps hd and only the button worked,
they did say there making a android version
my Beats by Dre headphones with the mic and volume don't seem to work...
I'm currently listening to these:
http://www.amazon.com/Radius-Atomic...HU78/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1330656920&sr=8-2
They work well in calls and even better with music, I've paused from the button and answered a call or 2 already using the button.
They have very good bass and if you put the correct tips on and pump up your volume you can feel the bass INSIDE YOU HEAD! Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but I like em, even with their funky shape and $30 tag price I'd probably buy em again.
Oh and I'm only exaggerating a little, install an EQ app and change it to rock and rock out!

Some headphone mic's not working?Arrow
I had that issue when I attempted to use my Dell Streak 5 mic-headphones. I plugged them in and the Note did not register the headphones at all when I played music. I rebooted the Note with the phones plugged in one time and now they work fine every time they are plugged in. Hope this helps.
Cheers!

Other HTC headset

Hi,
I misplaced my iBeats, since I don't listen to music on the phone, I just need a pair of headset with mic, would something from Evo 4G or other HTC phone works with the Rezound? I did a search didn't find any info related to this.
This is the one I am thinking about getting:

any headphone will work as long as it fits.
I heard the ps vita headphones were good and at like $15 I think they have a mic as well

I know Jay's sound really good. A bit pricey but are comfortable in your ears for long periods of time. I think the one I had was jays ones then my sons cat chewed the cord like all the other ones. Definitely going to get another pair.

Sony makes a really nice set of headphones with the mic, If any headset works as stated above, that would be a pair I would consider. Walmart has them and also office depot, and usually theres like 3 or 4 models about 5 - 10 bucks apart.
There's been a few times i was traveling or something and needed a pair quick or the kids lost my girl's pairs, and a quick trip to walgreens and $15 got a nice set of stereo ear plugs and I know some of them have the mic and headset controls that will work with the headset hook mod.
Don't laugh but try Big Lots if you have 1 near you. The last time I was in the 1 near me they had a ton of ear buds & over ear headphones real cheap.
