I am about to root my VZW S4. I just wanted to make sure nobody knew of lost functionality like netflix or hulu not working on rooted S4s. I have searched the forums and google, but have not come across anything about rooted S4s losing content access.
I don't want to lose google play movies, netflix, hulu, or other apps by rooting.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
thanks
Works fine

Nope, this is not like an iPhone where they know you jailbroke your phone and won't let you run certain apps (Ie. DirecTV) ... Everything works fine!
I've tested Netflix, and it totally works. Don't use Hulu or Google Play movies, but I assume they'll work as well. There's no reason for them not to.
Netflix, Hulu Plus, Play Movies all work on rooted devices, no problem!

It has been never easier for unrooted users to take full backups of their Galaxy S4 or any android smartphones until now. One has always suggested to install Titanium Backup but unfortunately its available for only users with root...

I have a Kindle Fire (that I love!) and have tried almost everything posted on this website, but so far nothing has worked.
Does anyone have a REAL solution to this issue? Sorry, I don't mean to sound rude, it's just really frustrating that I cannot get anything I've read on these forums to work.
I just want to be able to download apps from Android Market which is obviously ran by Google. I am completely at a loss here and not to tech-savvy.....
Thanks for any info that anyone can provide...

So guys. We have a gigantic screen to use watching media when we're not at home but we still want to watch our favorite shows and movies.
I've tried everything, Emit, bubble UPnP with xbmc, among a ton of others. I want so hard for this to work, but the best I've found over 4g was airplay it, which is not supported by Android versions later than gingerbread.
Everything I've tried seems to lag randomly every couple of minutes or so for 5 to 10 seconds at a time.
I know a bunch of you probably have a similar set up with newsgroups and xbmc etc, and was wondering if anyone of you has found a solution that works without hiccups.
I should also let you know that I have the fastest Internet provided by my cable provider and unlimited 4g.
Thanks in advance guys!

I think you want to stream content from a machine at home while you're out, over 4g right?

1) Is there any video chat app that is comparable in quality to facetime? I've tried Skype, and .. it works but the video quality is atrocious comparably. Doing a facetime chat from my iphone to another iphone/ipad/etc was almost HD in quality, virtually no artifacts smooth motion etc. This is not the case at all on a S4 with Skype. Suggestions ?
2) My parents have an ipad without cellular, so they don't have straight texting, they've been imessaging me for the past 2 years and now they can't. What options do we have? They can't even use Whatsapp being even that requires a phone number to tie to.
Loving the phone, screen and load of features .. just rrying to find solutions to some of my 'use' scenarios
1) you should use Google's new hangout app, loom at number 2 for reason
2) Google hangout is your best solution. It will allow you to message your parents on their iPad and will let you videochat all from the same application. You won't need a phone number to make the app work.

2) WhatsApp Messenger will work
I would say hangouts would be your best choice

Hi all.
I hope im posting on the right place.
My question is simple.. Is there any game hacking program that works on lollipop? I had game guardian and it worked fine, until i upgraded to lollipop. I have a rooted device.
I have also tried gameCIH and game killer with no success..
I have also read somewhere in a forum that lollipop comes with a "protection" against that kind of programs.
Basically what happen is, when i open the gameguardian for the first time, it stays open until the root access box pops up. When i grant root, it vanishes, and when i try to open it again, it opens and closes very fast. GameCIH crashes my tablet, and game killer keeps saying it doesn't have root, although i have given the permission myself on supersu.
So, if anyone know anything that can help me, please feel free to share!
Thanks in advance.
Nothing is going to work and its art that is stopping it new runtime and the apps arent updated for the new runtime yet. OP
Isn't there a working version of gameguard for lolipop?
Some hacking of games is allowed on xda, but please do not discuss ways to hack any paid features of any software, because that would be considered warez and is expressly forbidden by the xda rules and specifically rule #6.
Some packages like freedom and luckypatcher have the sole purpose of getting paid content for free and so these can never ever be discussed on xda.
Thread cleaned of the warez discussion and closed to prevent a new one.
Sorry and thanks!
I just finished re-rooting my HTC One M8 (AT&T). Got TWRP 2.8.7.0 and SuperSU v2.46 onboard, flashed and ready to go. Still S-ON but I don't think that matters at the moment.
I'm looking for a valid and workable application to "further" my progress on CSR Racing. GameCIH is no longer available from what I can tell, just AppCIH which doesn't really tell me how to do ****, just looks like a glorified file explorer/editer. No search function or any overlay interface with the game. Same thing with GameKiller. Both were in the AppStore, but something tells me I'm gonna have to force it on via ADB.
Any help? I'll keep looking/researching.
First, questions go in Q&A sections. Second, warez is not discussed on XDA.
