A member here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32374963 reported that works on jb also (check latest posts).
Otherwise you can just backup everything, downgrade to ics, relock bootloader and upgrade again to jb.
Great Idea Thank u Bro

Is this a custom rom or a program to root locked bootloader?I am interested in rooting my xperia u with locked bootloader in order to change my customization number and flash the phone with arabic firmware from se update. Thanks!
When the U ICS update rolls out next week - is it expected we can use the "Root Many Android" method to obtain root without unlocking the bootloader?

yes, you are on GB,
see the instructions under GB for root,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Sony_Xperia_U
try this also
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2063029
though rooting ICS can be achieved on locked bootloaders where on GB you may need to unlock it !
update to ICS and root, is what i suggest.

First of all you cannot untill you hv CWM installed on your device
You can install it acc
A) Unlocked Bootloader :
