I've tried everything to get into recovery (adb , fastboot, and key commands.) any suggestions?
The reason it's an emergency is because I need to send the device back to Verizon, and they'd charge me $800 to fix this.
why would they have you pay 800 whenits not worth 600 atm, also hold power button for about 30 seconds the phone will turn off then hold power and volume down the hboot menu should appear and and you should be able to hit volume down and select recovery then enter it with the power button, when did it start doing it? also might want to take out your sim card as well. EDIT: you music has potential BTW

I don't have home Internet and can't do YouTube at work... where I do any/all modding.
So I am htcdev unlocked and rooted.. what steps do I need to do before running ruu? Thanks.
If this helps you thank second poster too.
Update:
at BL screen I entered fastboot mode and typed "fastboot oem lock" no quotes in my cmd prompt
it locked and rebooted to BL
made sure I was in fastboot mode and double clicked my RUU which was the same as in my about phone in settings.
then waited until finish and rebooted.
downloaded the OTA update and installed.
I and my phone asre safe and sound.

First you need to relock your bootloader. Then from within the bootloader screen, select fastboot mode, plug in your phone into your computer and run the RUU file corresponding to the version your phone has (presumably the latest). Let that badboy run and you should be completely stock again.

I assume the old "fastboot oem lock" is the only way to re lock. This is the one I was going to use as others say the one that is .2 is not for our phone

Ok, so I'm going to help a fellow XDA member, he got stuck on the bootloader menu with S-on and Locked. He can't seem to run the RUU from his computer, so we are going to try mine. So select fastboot, then run RUU? That easy? Hopefully things will go smooth then...

Glad it worked!
I have an AT&T Note that has locked me out (bought from ebay), and the VOLUME UP is broken so I can't get into recovery.
I feel like my only hope getting into the phone is "adb reboot recovery". The problem is I can't get into settings to check USB debugging
Is there anybody out there that knows if it is possible to disassemble a ROM and make changes so that instead of USB debugging being OFF by default, it is ON?
And if you know it's possible, does anybody know of anyone that could handle the task. Thanks a bunch guys:good:
Any other ideas are welcome, I think if I can get into recovery I can factory reset and get past the lock. Will this even work?
if your rooted, you can use titanium backup to get into recovery mode
He is locked out, can't get past the lockscreen. How will he install TiBU?
Since the volume button is broken, and possibly other things wrong, why not get a new mainboard?
Or send it to a JTAG service to force a new rom into the phone.
Sorry didn't see that, couldn't you just flash a stock rom with Odin, the volume down button works right?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Ya I tried flashing a stock rom, it still doesn't get me past the lock screen. And this is a new logicboard already. What if there is a MOD or something that adds boot to recovery in the power menu? Then I could get into recovery. I would have to be able to flash it with odin though. I have 3 notes, one needs jtag, the good one I gave to my wife and this one I pulled from a note run over by a car haha. I would like to get this one going I can live without a volume button!
I think the next step is finding a way to get recovery on the power menu!
The new Novena J2 rom (stock ICS) has the four reboot options in the power menu. Go for that.
I think plan B would be to ask a developer to cook you a rom that has the lock screen removed completely.

A couple questions, Where can I find this rom you speak of, and is it flash-able with odin?
If this rom exists im set, thanks man. I've been looking but can't seem to find it.
Really?

oh look, there it is. lol
sorry about that guess I didn't look too terribly hard.
My phone is an HTC One M8 running Android Revolution HD and TWRP Recovery. I recently downloaded Multirom thinking that I could hold multiple roms just by downloading the app. The app told me to reboot into Recovery mode to finish installation, and I rebooted into recovery. The only roms that were available to boot in was Internal so I just chose that. Turns out Internal will always get me stuck into the htcONE boot screen even after 1 day of waiting. If I try to go into bootloader mode and go into factory reset, it brings me back to the MultiROM menu everytime. I cannot even access the phone from the computer to edit the files. Please help, thanks!
@sangothemango
When you say when you try booting into bootloader do you mean your recovery as far as doing a factory reset?
Try power+volume-up till it goes dark and as soon as it goes dark just hold volume-down till the actual hboot/bootloader comes up.

If you can get the above example type of screen to come up than you can save your device. Hopefully your familiar with adb/fastboot cause that's what's going to fix it.
Unless you already have S-OFF ?
Yes I can get into that screen, but if I choose anything, it says going into recovery mode and then nothing happens.

That is GPE (no Sense), not Dev Edition (unbranded Sense).
You can convert to GPE following the instructions here (s-off required): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708589
Keep in mind, that fully converting allows you to get OTAs. But it also changes the partition scheme, so you need to convert back to Sense partitioning if you want to use Sense ROMs.

I'm not a CM user, but I've seen others mention you need to update hboot for CM12.
Hold power and vol up to force a reboot. Once the screen goes dark (and before the HTC logo screen appears), let go of those buttons, and start holding vol down until bootloader appears.
From bootloader, go into custom recovery and restore your nandroid. Reboot and party on.

You're very welcome. Glad to have helped.
IMPORTANT: your phone needs to be running the lg official lollipop before flashing it
Here's a twrp from the internet that i found.
It includes a Bootloader unlock binary.
so, I've done a tool that automates the installation process
You run it, it'll install twrp and reboot into recovery
If it fails use the tutorial from the original developer
link for the original poster of the tool (thank him):

My cell phone gave brick and did not want to start.
When I put the battery and hold the power button it flashes the led 7 times and then it turns off, so I was able to do that process to make the led flash and I need to take the battery and put it back.
The only function I can access is FASTBOOT MODE.
