Have you tried going the RUU way?

Not only wrong forum, but wrong OEM. That's a samsung phone. Probably have better luck asking there, since most of us (including myself) don't know much about them, but they are quite different at teh lower levels of phone (like the bootloader).

[Q] Help about HTC Inspire 3D

Hi everybody!
I have a question for you, I have an HTC Inspire 3d from Telcel in Mexico and I wanna update to Android 4.0 ICS but I don't find wich Rom must I install because there are only roms for HTC Evo 3D, will this Evo 3d roms work on my Inspire 3D? They have the same specifications but i don't know if they have the same hardware and if the rom will work properly, i want to install this rom on my HTC: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671369 [ROM][Cool Sense 3.6][2 July]Cool ICS v10|APM|FULL TWEAKS|FAST|450+RAM|EXT4 ALIGNMENT
Thanks, I hope you can help me...
Sorry for my bad english, i don't speak it very well...
I have the htc inspire 4G, the roms you have to use are the desire hd roms. All the ics roms for the inspire are beta and a bit buggy. I suggest cynaogenmod 7 rc2 until a better solution comes around. Hope this helps..

I'm sure I have an HTC Inspire 3D, but I think this is the same thing than HTC EVO 3D, HTC seems to only changed its name for Mexico, Inspire 3D has the same technical specifications than EVO 3D...
Ok then use Evo 3d roms.<--double check on this
**DON'T use HTC Inspire 4G Roms, or you will most likely brick your phone**
The HTC Inspire 4G has completely different hardware than the HTC Evo 3D.
As always happy rooting, and flashing. And as always I take no responsibility if you brick, or damage your device in anyway, shape or form.

Also you may need a different radio than the Evo 3D in the US. I'm not sure, but It's a possibility, so check into it

Ok thank you very much, i'll try the HTC EVO 3D Roms...
Well after several attempts to install King Cobra 3d, my htc did not start, stayed at boot, then I read it could be the kernel so i install it from the post of the king cobra rom and still did not work, so I had to restore my original rom : ( anyone knows what could have happened?

[Q] Flash to virgin mobile?

I went to Virgin Mobile a few weeks ago and got the Evo v 4G. I miss using the Evo 4g LTE and a friend said it was possible to flash the Evo 4G LTE to Virgin Mobile. Is it possible to do so, if so please post a link. I've spend a while trying to find anything on it but can't find anything. Thanks
yes its possible not the same device but principal is the same
That URL didn't work for me, but this did:

EVO LTE s-on

So I've gotta ask and take it easy on me if this is a stupid question. But do only certain roms work with s-on. I'm asking because every Rom above 4.1.1 has never gotten past the boot screen on my EVO. So is this question legitimate?

From what i read yes, but same with s-off depending on what version you're on.. S-off is the way to go, i was having mad issues flashing with s-on and always ended up in a boot loop, did s-off yesterday and have tried three different roms successfully... Totally cool.. Try the s-off using dirtyracun and if you have issues, they will help you out in their irc chanel... Bigdaddy explained it best to me... Him and captain throwback ate good to go if you need help...

Some Roms will require you to flash the kernels first via fastboot or the flash image gui app. Pain in the ass if you ask me. Just go S-off..

Thanks guys....in some cases I've said I'm lucky to have all mac in my house but I feel unlucky with this s-off process. No one is supporting mac, and while I know terminal really well I don't wanna brick a phone I got 3 days ago

If you don't want to s-off just use flash img gui to flash your roms.

[Q] Is the Virgin Mobile Evo the 3D or V?

I've recently gone through hell trying to root and install ROMs on my friend's HTC Evo for Virgin Mobile. Something I just noticed is that it seems the 3D and V are two variants of the same phone. Is the V the only version of the Evo on Virgin Mobile? If so, does this mean I should look for ROMs/root guides specifically for the V or should the 3D guides be exactly the same? The bootloader shows it as shooter, which means it's a CDMA 3D, but everything referring to Virgin Mobile shows the phone as the V. Can someone clear this up?
The virgin mobile variant of the 3d is the Evo V, only use ROMs from the CDMA dev thread or you will get bootloops

Thanks. I've had a huge headache with my friend's Evo. It got stuck in a bootloop not because I'm not using CDMA ROMs, but because I can't find any ROMs that work with hboot 1.58. And any RUU I use tells me the hboot it's attempting to install is an older version and the update fails, so it's a real mess.
