Hi!
I'm having problems updating my P500 to the latest available rom. I tried about everything but it gets me nowhere LG software clearely isn't the best, I had quite some troubles with it in the past, trying to upgrade my old KP500 Cookie and apparently, it hasn't becomme any easyer in the mean time ...
First problem I have is that I cannot get the update software to work correctly on my W7home 64bit desktop pc. This is probably my own fault since I connected the phone before installing the usb drivers. Now it keeps trying to install the USB driver but it fails when attempting to install the MCCI(r)Firmware. Is there a way to remove everything and start over from scratch?
Secondly I grabbed my GF's laptop and got the software to install properly this time around and got the update process going. But for reasons unknow to me the LG software crashed at arround 15% when the P500 already was showing a yellow screen. After I removed the battery I got it to boot up again and it seems to be working ok but still shows the old firmware (v10b) on the settings menu. Problem is now that when I tried a second time the LG software won't commence the update process because it detects version v10h, which is says is the latest and no update is nesacery.
So, what now? I'm out of ideas ...
Not even any suggestions?

Just change a to d and download with idm by pasting the new link in idm. You will know what am I saying once you visited the link. But make sure you install the p500 driver. If you want you can downloadthe driver from here. I run win 7 ultimate 64 bit so it will work on your machine too.

Man, you are my hero!
Worked like a charm, i'm running V10h now and all seems to be fine!
AHHHHHHH this is driving me nuts! I just ditched by beloved (and now very slow) cappy for a new gt9100. Great. I'm runninw Windows 7 and I can't get it to automatically install the appropriate USB drivers - the process keeps failing. So i tried to find them online and install them manually but I can't seem to find them ANYWHERE. I can transfer files to and from my phone via usb when the phone is in "mass storage" mode, other than that, as I can't find or install the right drivers i cant use samsung kies or sideload wonder etc etc. Someone please help!

Please be more specific.
What error message is given when you try to install Kies?
Do you have an administrator account?
Which stepst did you exactly take to get the drivers installed?
1. Ok. Kies is installed fine though it will not connect to my phone via usb cable - it keeps telling me to put the phone into 'kies mode" and keeps doing so even when it is.
2. Also, when i connect the phone to the 'sideload wonder machine' it will not install apps on my phone and tells me "error: device not found" and before that it tels me to make sure i have installed the correct drivers.
3. Every time i plug my phone in via usb and its not in the mass storage mode windows automatically (re)installs (even thought it has done this on every previous occasion) the 'appropriate' drivers. Sometimes windows informs me that this has occured successfully, though next time I plug my phone it it starts the process all over again and tells me the installation ahs failed.
I do have administrator privelages and I've tried searching everywhere for the correct driveers to install but cant find any....I swear it was so much easier trying to find drivers and complete installations on my captivate.
Yeah, Kies is horrible and the driver installation can be a pain. But that windows tries to install them again and again is strange, I never heard of that problem before.
Sorry mate, but *I* don't know what's going on. Hopefully somebody else can be of more assistance. Sorry!
Go into settings/applications/development and untick usb debug mode.
Your phone is now in kies mode and upon inserting your usb lead it should say mtp connection instead of usb. Hope this helps

Hi everyone, i hope to find a solution writing there, since i'm kinda desperate about my situation.
So, i got this telephone, a s2 I9100g, but only the day after i noticed the browser was in chinese. Looked up a bit better inside and i found it is a chinese version of the telephone (original one, but made for chinese market).
So i tryed to pull in an original rom, but it failed; i found a guide to how to fix this problem, and become able to flash the italian rom on it.
Basically, i followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1702479%22 I did all the steps using the CHN version of the bootloader and.. i know, i was so stupid there, but since it got stuck at NAND writing (i did not see the progress bar after 15 minutes), i simply unplugged the cable.
Well, after that the phone didn't enter reset/download mode, but it started showing the yellow phone---!---pc screen, with wrote above "software update fail", and something else in chinese.
There is what i tryed to do:
-Flash another rom (tryed 2) with different versions of odin, 1.3,1.6 and 3.07.
odin does recognize the telephone with the drivers installed, but if i start it, it gets stuck at setup connecting phase and failing after. Same with all versions.
-use OneClickUnbrick, i tryed to start it normally and from CMD.
with the drivers which odin and windows use to recognize the telephone (last ones available on samsung website), it says "usb drivers are not properly installed attempting to install drivers". So, it starts Zadig. I follow the steps there, and the installation completes succesfully. But at this point, when i plug in the telephone windows recognizes it but fails installing the device with drivers, and odin doesn't recognize it at all, while oneclick keeps showing the "usb drivers are not properly installed" window, time after time even if i keep reinstalling with success the drivers using Zadig.
-delete everything and install Kies.
none of the programs above does see the telephone now, neither windows.
Tryed to follow the steps i did before after having it installed, nothing changed.
Every of this tryes, i did the following "changes":
-removing and inserting the battery
-changing usb port
-changing cable
-changing computer
-trying to enter reset/download mode by holding vol up/down+mid button+power
Would be enough to make odin go over the setup connecting phase, or kies to recognize it, or OneClick to stop showing the window about drivers.
I read that seems i'm in a hard brick case, but since the phone is seen by odin and windows and the battery does recharge, i got still a bit of hope.
Thanks
Click the link in my signature, there's more troubleshooting steps to try. You've done a few but not all of them.
I would usually say that pulling out the cable leaves you with no hope, but you seem to have gotten a little lucky. Don't hold your breath though.

Tryed all the steps.
Nothing changed.
You can either keep trying or take to a service centre & pay to have it fixed *shrugs*
Hi,
I keep failing to root my HTC One V. At first I used that Kingo ROOT thingy, which doesnt work at all. Then I decided to do it the old way. However, first of all, the bootloader unlocking program itself wont install. It says AdpWinApi.dll is missing, even after installing Android SDK. Next thing, when I get into my phone's bootloader, my windows 10 pc says that the usb is broken or something similair to that, while when connecting when the phone is turned on, it does show the phone and I can access all its files. Ive isntalled multiple usb drivers, and HTC Sync (which I closed afterwards, so thats not the issue) and yet, it doesnt recognize the phone when in boot mode. Help, please!
fyi the bootloader is still locked.
Kind regards,
me.
bumping this...
Hi all
Recently, my optimus L9 (the P760), has started to get popups saying ''the process com.android.phone has stopped."
This started when I turned on my phone and suddenly I got pop-ups of multiple apps and processes being stopped.
Then the phone was suddenly off, without having given any kind of warning that it was going to turn off..
Then I restarted it, it got stuck on the LG logo for a while (didn't count, was about 1-5 mins) and then it said 'Encrypting' (under which I can see something I presume is a loading bar, but it's not loading) And under Encrypting, it has a button which says 'Reset phone', which won't work. I've tried it several times, restarted the phone (which also took 1-5 mins) several times, and have looked for solved threads about this on xda, as well as other forums..
There have been several threads like this, but none seems to be solved. That is the reason why I open this new thread.
My pc won't recognize the lg when I try connecting it either.. Nothing seems to be able to fix this, but my warranty has passed due to it being older than 2 years..
I really hope you guys can help me, thanks a lot!
Patrick
The final production run of L9s featured an encrypted bootloader, phones manufactured in 2013, if bought until early '13 this cannot be the case.
Anyway this means the phone is bricked, if you did not activate Android' s encryption feature.
The LG recovery tool should ve able to fix it in download mode. There are driver problems under Windows 8&10, but download mode should work and is also the final option before sending it in or dumping it.
For download mode switch phone off, then press Vol- while plugging the phone in and wait until it switches on by itself. Activating download mode after an off-on-off sequence seems to help when even download mode doesn't work as supposed. Seems to do the same as taking out the battery in between tries.
This was the last issue I had before my p760 got trashed by this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2748384 I wish you luck though.
There's various driver issues in the various connection modes the phone can assume.
First there's more trouble with Windows newer than Seven. This affects Fastboot and generally the recognition under Windows. And with a custom rom the LG drivers may not recognize the phone, thus all LG tools will fail too.
Best support is gained with two sets of drivers installed: LG usb drivers and Google SDK usb drivers.
With Artas' CM11, the Google drivers provided support for non-LG tools and ADB commands. The LG drivers only recognized the phone in Download mode and were necessary for unbricking it, as all tools for flashing KDZ files are based on LG's own tool, which needs the LG drivers.
The driver installation is less difficult on Win10 compared to 8.1, run the setup to install both ones.
On Win8.1 you may have to manually assign the Google drivers after their installation in device manager, they' re either found in the Android Phone category or the ADB interfaces one, while the LG ones sit invisible(!) in the other category(phone not recognized, remember?), but the phone recognition will be triggered by attaching it in download mode, and a virtual COM port will be installed.
Hopefully this was confusing, weird and silly enough, but if you manage to get it right, unbricking the phone is still quite possible.
