This is slightly bizarre but my Samsung Galaxy S i9000 believes it is a tablet. I know this because when I downloaded Whatsapp, it said: Note: Tablets are currently not supported. Furthermore when I downloaded a game called Indestructible it started off the game as if the phone was a tablet (tablet starts with a different car to phones). Honestly, I'm quite confused.
Before all of this happened I had Icy Glitch v14 kernel flashed onto my phone and my phone had worked perfectly. Then after a few months it went into 2 bootloops; I recovered from the first one but then I couldn't reboot into recovery so I gave it to a man who fixed it - I don't know what he did but he fixed my phone and returned it to it's stock settings. After that I re-flashed Icy Glitch v14 kernel and my Samsung Galaxy S worked like before, except for the phone thinking it was a tablet.I then flashed a Semaphore kernel to see if it would make any difference but it didn't. Any Ideas on how I could persuade my phone it is a phone again??????

I just recently picked up a G Tablet off of FleaBay, and it has been flashed. The seller didn't remember what ROM was used, so I dug around on it and here is what I found using Spare Parts...
Name : FRF91
Version: Unavailable
Build/Fingerprint: FRF91 deodex/FRF91
System Version: Android 2.2
Kernel: 2.6.32.9

On bootup, I get the usual Veiwsonic trio (the birds), then a 3D animation that looks like honeycombs...
Any help ID'ing this ROM would be appreciated.
It sounds like you're running BoS or Bottle of Smoke. It was a honeycomb rom that was released back in the original days of HC. I would definitely upgrade roms though, because that rom is extremely faulty and outdated (no offense roe )
Thanks, that's kinda what I figured. I updated it two days ago to DRH's ICS. Loving it so far....
Hi,
Today I update my galaxy tab 10.1 gt-pt7510 from Kies to the ICS 4.0.4.
In a first time look, every seems great, much faster than the previws version and smother interface. But when i open the youtube app all videos looks laggy (the video get cuts but the audio works well), i tried with the nvision app (too discard apps problems) and the same happend.
Its normal? the ICS 4.0.4 didnt works well on my tablet? These version is failing? should i get another 4.0.4 rom or i should get back? should overclock my tab?
Please help me!
Thanks!

OK so I have an GS2 running:

Android = 4.0.4
Ok so I did the whole Odin thing for the first and only time around March/April updating from GB and haven't touched the kernel version of this phone again so it's quite old. I want to update to CM10 but I'm not sure if all my versions are correct and all the reading I do with kernels slightly confuses me because I'm not sure how it affects my current version as the CF-Root kernel I did ages ago isn't in my 'about phone', so I needed to ask on here because Whirlpool didn't respond.
Can I simply flash CM10 straight over the top? Or do/can I update the kernel version to do this? I would ideally love to have a kernel that optimizes battery life and gives me the ability to have the soft buttons flash for a notification.
I found these threads, are they applicable to my case?

Cheers.
You are running CM9 and you want to flash CM10? If yes, then you don't need to flash any kernel to do that.
Just follow these steps:
1. Download latest CM10 nightly and Jellybean Gapps
2. Backup your contacts, messages, and apps
3. Boot to CWM recovery
- Backup your ROM (under Backup and restore (optional)
- wipe data / factory reset
- format /system (under mounts and storage)
- flash CM10
- flash Jellybean Gapps
- reboot phone
Done.
Thanks Jokesy. Much appreciated

Here is the CM 10 thread for nighty buildshttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1794758
I was on MIUI (ICS 4.0.4) and have jumped to Resurrection Remix 3.0.9 and now on Revolt JB 2.5 both of which are based on AOKP and CM10.
I flashed Siyah and then DreamKernel and finally landed on Dorimanx 5.85. So I think you should be okay flashing a new Kernel for your current settings. I would suggest trying out different kernels as there is no best kernel and it depends on your usage. Dormianx has a Battery and Great Battery profile which you can activate via Extweaks app or in recovery. I am not sure about the soft buttons flash though.
Hi All,
Greetings!
I currently have a SHW-M250K galaxy s2 model.
I have flashed it with i9100 gt firmware.
However, some portions of my screen are unresponsive, only to some applications. The lower part of my screen is not being detected properly. Its as if some applications only detect my screen as 4.0 instead of 4.3. It only happens to some applications. Keyboard and other apps seem to work fine.
My details are as follows:
Model: GT - I9100
Baseband: I9100DXLP7
Kernel: 3.0.15 - TH [email protected] #2
Build Number: IML74K DXLP7
Would updating my kernel be of any help?
What would be a good way of fixing? Would wiping all my cache and data help?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hey...
yes, try to update or use another kernel once.
If this won't help, last option is to make a full wipe, but try the kernel first.
If u hadn't the prob before and not bigger drop of phone or anything like this, it wouldn't be a hardware issue

Hi!
I just flashed SuperNexus 2.0 M1 into my Galaxy S3 and I REALLY love it! Fastest and easiest ROM I've ever tried. Just one little thing. When I pair the phone to a BT-headset it doesn't work on some headsets and where it does work I can't switch back to phone.
For instance, if I pair the phone with my car stereo and answear a call, I can't switch back to talk from the phone. And I read something about that I could flash another modem to the phone and it will work. Read the last post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153728
Has anyone encountered the same problem and solved it? If I'm going to test with another modem how should I do and what shall I choose?
It's too bad, because I really love the idea of the stock Android experience on my Galaxy S3.
