That FTF file contains the rom and the kernel, just flash it via flashtool, and make sure you are on unlocked bootloader, and dont forget to check no final verification box before flashing.

Nope....I don't think so.....

You have to flash the entire ftf file of .587 just as you would flash the .431 ftf. No changes at all. Also, kernel does not contain the system folder(ROM) but contains only the ramdisk and zImage binary. The system.sin file in your ftf package actually contains the "system" folder. Anyway, it is just safer to flash the entire package. Good luck!

Just place your ftf in firmwares folder, start flashtool and select the ftf from the list and click the flash button! Don't uncheck any options there and press flash. Then connect your phone in download mode and done! Don't worry about the kernel and all that stuff. Flashing a stock ftf should take care of all the problems in your phone.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you have a locked BL and you're rooted, if you install a Locked BL CWM, is other not the option in Advanced- Create firmware zip? Can someone do that for him?

In this case Im out of the game :crying:
Im so sorry but I cant help
I also faced that problem a while ago, as a stock update.zip would be very useful. Flashing a file via cwm is much more faster than booting up flashtool and flash a ftf file. I was able to extract the firmware files from a ftf file with flashtool but I just didn't know how to pack them into an update.zip. My main problem is that I didn't know how to set the permissions correctly.
EDIT: Ah. I think I found something out. This website sounds good. I think that is what you are looking for. http://www.xda-developers.com/android/easily-extract-ics-system-files-from-sony-xperia-ftf-files/
EDIT2: To build an update.zip package this could work. http://www.xda-developers.com/android/extract-ftf-files-and-turn-them-into-flashable-zips/
EDIT3: And with this tool you can unpack the ext4 files of a xu ics ftf file. http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidicsjbext/files/20130408/ext4_unpacker_exe.zip/download
EDIT4: I sum up the extraction process:
0. Get a ftf file(e.g. this generic ics ftf http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075526)
1. Get flashtool, 7zip and the ext4_unpacker(see above)
2. Open firmware ftf file with 7zip and extract system.sin
3. Flashtool->Tools->Sin Editor-> Select system.sin file. -> Dump data
4. Open extracted system.ext4 file with the ext4_unpacker and extract system files to a folder called system/.
Now anyone has to figure out how to create an update.zip file. I think that's the harder part.

Since you are on unlocked bootloader i suggest you install jb. It has been ported for sola too but don't know if and which bugs could exist.
If you want to restore the stock rom, search the ftf file from sola development section and dowload it. Flash it via flashtool and you are done.

jb is jellybean. Latest android os. Check here a modified version of jb --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2288630
.img is not the custom rom but the kernel mate.
As about stock: download the ftf and open it with winrar. Extract kernel.sin and flash it via fastboot mode. After that flash via flashmode the ftf..
Stock
Jb(jelly bean) is a new branch of software newer than Ics(ice cream sandwich), in my opinion i recomend ultimate rom V4z but you have to read the instructions and last posts carefully.
In case you still dont want to install a new rom, heres the stock,

Follow the procedure mentioned in this thread to flash default ICS .54 through flashtool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
After flashing .54, install Project XV-R JB ROM for Sola. I have been using it for the last few days and its pretty stable. Here the link

so how i can restore default kernel?
Just flash official ics .54 ftf through flashtool
I need stock kernel for My xperia p LT22I 6.2.A.1.100.currently i have custom rom with custom kernel but i need stock rom so first need stock kernel. Any One help pls.
How are you going to flash stock rom? Do you have the ftf file?
Yes I have ftf file and goes with flashtool.
Then why do you need stock kernel? It's already in the ftf you have. Open it with winrar or 7zip you'll find kernel.sin. Better just flash the ftf itself.
Thanks but my bl unlocked.necessary to first relock bl or flashes with unlocked bl?
You can flash it on unlocked bootloader also. It doesn't matter.
Thanks bro.
