you can probably solve this by installing the official rom all over again or install a custom rom from the development section..
as per my knowledge you cant get back your lockscreen

If you have actually rooted your phone, I think it is the best to find the same version of android you were using, either custom roms or stock android and just flash it. If you can find the same version, there is no need to wipe data, but backup it anyway, in case something goes wrong.

mmmmm i think ICS Lockscreen depends on framework !
any way flash any custom rom . or your stock one again

ICStock theme for Venue

Hey guys,
I've seen some people asking for numbered battery mods for stock or StreakDroid4 2.5.0 ROMs so I put together a simple theme (thanks to UOT Kitchen) and wanted to share it with anyone who is interested.
The theme simply changes the look of status bar and the icons, battery, system menus, adds new Roboto font ( from ICS), ICS window animations and Blue Android boot animation. Also, due to Raven 2 kindly allowing us use some files from his theme, you will now get ICS-like Phone, Contacts, Gallery and Calendar apk. I'm attaching some screenshots so you can get a visual idea.
I'm running on StreakDroid4 2.5.0 but it may also work on the deodexed or stock 408 ROM.
As usual, I do not take any responsibility for any issues that the process may cause - proceed with caution
To install:
1.Download the zip file below
2. Flash via CWM
Big thanks to TheManii for his ROM and Raven 2 for letting us use his files in this theme.
Just in case you were wondering, the screen lock on the first image is Widgetlocker which isn't free, but you can download MagicLocker or MiLocker that have similar look for free. The launchers I used in the shots (just to show different looks) are Go Launcher EX (with ICS theme) and Espier Launcher both are free too. Also shown and used is another free app - Widgetsoid.

Thanks!

Also, if Raven ever comes back to the site I would like to ask him if we can use his themed Phone and Contacts apks that have an ICS look and I will include it in this theme.

Your language is fine, no worries. Thanks for letting us use your files. I'm going to update the OP and attach the new theme file.
I'll try it out on my deoxed 408 and see how it goes. I just put TeamDRH ICS on my Viewsonic GTab (no thanks to Viewsonic - you suck) and would like a consistent interface across devices
Cool, let me know how it works/looks. It isn't the actual ICS UI but the color scheme and other mods at least remind you of one
It works great! I flashed with CWM, cleared cache & delvik, and fixed permissions for good measure. I especially like the battery icon. Now to find a way to port ICS over to this and we will be set. Maybe our new Korean friends are working on that?

Nice, glad to hear that. Yes, I agree about ICS port or a new ROM from our Korean friends would be great. I think one of their main contributors Kukjin11 is going to upload his ROM in a couple of days, so we will see from there
Cool stuff.
Thank you.

hey guys iam having the 408 olleh gb running on my phone with ravens theam on top of it..
can i upgrade it to ics them here.. if yes do i have to rename the file that has been given here....
if possible can some one please write the steps since iam very new to this stuff...
thanks alot guys..
hey crainz,
Do you have CWM installed? Are you on deodexed stock 408 ROM created by TheManii? The theme was based on deodexed ROM files from StreakDroid4 2.5.0 (which I use) and I believe it works on the deodexed 408 stock - both of which put together by TheManii. I don't know for sure if it works with a normal odexed ROM - so let's hear from TheManii or anyone else who can verify.
If you have CWM installed, you can easily flash files, like the StreakDroid4 2.5.0 which is basically stock with tweaks and debranded (so no Olleh stuff) and then flash my theme. I recommend you install Titanium backup and back up your apps and data so when you install a new ROM you can restore (or import) you saved data like passwords, shortcuts, game levels, and so on.
Edit: Here's the XDA Wiki page that TheManii created which has the links to SD4 2.5.0 and CWM Recovery downloads:

If you have CWM installed then you can go ahead and install StreakDroid4 2.5.0. However, you would need to do a factory reset first so back your data up using Titanium Backup (this is a free version) and then you can restore all your apps and data once you flashed SD4. After that just flash ICStock theme and you're good to go.
Thank a lot for the information streak4m3
Just 2 more question before i start the process of upgrade.
1. when i installed the CWM using this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1423002
Ans started the phone i was able to get the CWM to work. But once i shut down the phone again and try
You switch mute to OFF hold both volume buttons down and power on. You will see a menu with 3 options, choose the one to upgrage SW package and choose with the camera button.
iam getting the Blue colour screen. iam not getting the CWM options.
Is this how it is suppose to work or am i doing something wrong.
2.Once i have flashed StreakDroid4 2.5.0 after renaming the file to upgrade.pkg.how do i flash the ICS theam?? IF you could kindly give me the steps that would be great..

OK, first of all you're not supposed to rename SD4 2.5.0 to update.pkg
Let's make sure I understand you correctly. You're saying that you have (or had) CWM installed and you verified that it works (worked), right? That means that you can (could) get to CWM recovery and see all the options, like: reboot system, install zip, wipe cache partition, advanced and so on, correct?
Are you now saying you can't get to CWM recovery? That it somehow goes to Dell stock recovery option which is blue (I think)? CWM mode has blue color text too so that's why it is a little bit confusing.
If you somehow lost CWM recovery just install it again and then simply flash SD4 2.5.0
i have seen the option that come with CWM reboot system, install zip, wipe cache partition, advanced and so on...
This comes once i have installed it using the instruction listed in the post...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1423002
i even was able to create a back up the rom on my system using CWM.. which got listed in the sdcard as well.
but once i shutdown the phone and start it again i dont get that CWM again it comes up with the blue dell flash tool.(which is in blue colour again) just like CWM
Just wanted to know if this is the same that happens in you case as well or are you able to get CWM evertime.
(if i install it again Iam able to get it to work once and them again back to the dell flash screen)
Just wanted to know if there is a way by which we can get it permenantly to work without having to flast it again and again..

CWM should be there every time - it's a permanent thing. You can install it again and flash SD4 2.5.0 during that one time that you can get into CWM recovery.
hey
Here is what i did. I flashed SD4 2.5.0 on my phone using CWM.. all went well
Then i flashed your ICS theme.. and restarted the phone.. that went well as well.
But what i did after that was i reset the phone to default using the option in settings.
The phone just stoped working completly.
It got stuck at the Blue Andriod startup... I tryed to do the process all over again...
No luck.... I think i have messed up my phone completly.
But before i started doing all this what i did was i took a back up of my phone using CMW..
So when restored the system back all came back using CWM the phone was back and working again...
What did i do wrong..... and is there any better way of doing this???

Not really sure what exactly may have happened in your situation. So are you up and running again? And why did you want to do a factory reset after flashing SD4 2.5.0?
If you're phone is not up and runing right now then you need to get to CWM if you can and just reflash SD4 and the theme. If you can't get to CWM, then you need to restore your phone using TheManii's steps in his thread for unbricking your phone (basically you would need to flash via fastboot options).

I read somewhere that if you want to go to stock rom, you have to re-lock bootloader. Try to search for more about it.

The restore only restores the rom, not the kernel, and the stock rom won't run on a custom kernel.
You either need to get a stock kernel to flash with flashtool or repair your phone using SEUS or PC Companion
The Backup will still be available for restoring, if you figure out how to install CWM on the stock kernel/rom
And there is NEVER a need to relock the bootloader, unless you want to send it for repairs under warranty.

i must say- everything is more than fine. after something like 10 hrs i really like it and tought i should test some other customs too.
but now my problem:
like above is wrote: i have the backup. but what i doesnt minded is- i need to restore my contacts..
normally i would say- okay. i will ask in facebook or something like this- but i have/had somethin ´bout 300contacts.
i thought the google-acc will add all my contacts if i log in( it does as i´ve used an other android-phone some weeks ago[the owner got all my contacts in his contacts-.-]) so- it doesnt adding them for now.
is there any way to restore just the contacts? i know- i should backup them seperately- but its too late now..
i looked around to open the ".img" data, but i only can burn them to disk.
i really dont want to restore the stock rom too get the contacts and backing them up otherwise.
hope you understand what i´m talking about.
mean-language is german- so ask if something isnt clear.
thanks everyone

Maybe you've got Auto-synchronisation turned off, so it won't sync your phone with your google-account automatically.
If all your contacts are still on your google-account (check with your pc) then syncing (Settings-Accounts and Synchronisation-Synchronise) should get them back on your phone.
If that doesn't work, restore your previous backup and maybe export your contacts to sd-card, then flash back your new rom and import your contacts from sd-card (in the contacts application, press the menu button and choose import-export)
You could go into CWM - backup and restore and do an advanced restore, which will put back all the settings and data from your original rom, but not all that may be compatible with your new rom, so it might cause more problems than it solves.
Those are your options, as far as I'm aware.
There is a way to 'decompile' the data.img of your backup, if you've got an Android-kitchen, which is for developers, but that's quite complicated, and i wouldn't know where to look for the contact-details that are stored there.

1. No. However, Samsung proprietary apps will not work with CM9
2. Since you have ROOT, we can get to work now.

3. You are lucky you got it fixed. Do you have backup of your /efs now?

Well Sir I have the back up from GS2 repair that initially backed up my corrupted folder and then began the process of replacing the original files with .bak files which worked, I backed up my efs folder again and now I have a copy of it on the PC.. I'm not satisfied to call it a back up... so I'll love it if you help me with that too, right now my phone is totally alright.
Thank you so much for helping me out.

To backup your /efs again, visit: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308546
Although optional, I recommended you flash a Samsung based ICS 4.0.3 ROM before flashing CM9.
I recommend Wanamlite ROM. Download Wanamlite 12.0 here: wanamlite.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=26
Visit CM9 thread, download ROM and Gapps here: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419102

Sorry bro for late reply, I've been very busy.
Step 1:
We will need to flash the Samsung ICS ROM (Wanamlite), you downloaded first, like I recommended
- boot to CWM recovery
- backup your present ROM
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- wipe dalvik cache
- format /system (under mount and storage)
- flash Wanamlite ROM you downloaded
- reboot phone
Use the phone for about 30 minutes to 1 hour then proceed to step two
Step 2:
We will now be flashing CM9
- boot to CWM recovery
- backup your present ROM (optional)
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- wipe dalvik cache
- format /system (under mount and storage)
- flash CM9 ROM
- flash gapps
- fix permissions (under Advanced)
- reboot phone
Please report feedback.

I'm so sorry for replying late.. I sort of had gotten busy..
so anyhow I did as I was instructed and first installed the wanamlite rom, everything worked smoothly however I didn't like the rom one bit.. it was laggy and boring..
after a little time I decided to install cm9 which was a nightly and after doing everything it didn't work the phone was stuck on the start, I reverted back to the wanamlite rom and then downloaded the stable cm9 and installed it and it worked like a charm and it wasn't that laggy at all,
however after installing it I immediately started to missing some of the samsung features such as, screenshot with home and power button, the choco cooky font and the ringtones, but I love the fact that the vibration was restored which I some how had weakened on my phone (I love texting with that)..
now I've come across new issues and I wanna restore my ability to change brightness from screen, screen shots and of course change the font.. I'd be beyond happy if you can help me out with that...
right now I wanna say thank you so much for helping this noob :3 your the best.

About your problem:
-brightness slider, screen shots (from power button) all can be found under settings, just go there and tweak your device as you please
-Rom Toolbox lite, a free app can help you change your fonts to whatever font you want, and lot more
good luck
I just came here to tell I had found the brightness option in the settings he he Okay now I really like this rom, its lovely.. yeah some little problems but I love it!
and about the font application its safe to use?.. I know very annoying question but I'm just asking cause Its really not that important for me to have a custom font :3

I've not heard a single complaints account that that app since I've been recommending it.

Well I tired the app worked great for the first two tries but on the third I got stuck on the boot loop, quick googling saved me the horror of starting over as I simply reinstalled the rom without doing any wipes and I'm back on the phone..
yeah on the third try I decided to apply the font I wanted which resided in the system fonts it was by a different name however after the reboot I was stuck..
There could be many reasons behind it.. but I think I shouldn't go taking too much risks over a stupid font..

Updating rooted stock ics to JB

I'm pretty new to android so sorry for newbie question.
When I bought my phone it came rooted on what I guess is stock rom etc, 4.0.4 version.
I tried doing OTA update but it gives me some error when it restarts and get into that state, don't remember, turned update off with titanium backup.
So for a while now I've been meaning to update to some nice new rom but I haven't found anything I really like so I want to just update my version to stock JB but now I have no idea how. Can anyone point me to right thread/guide or give me tips how to do it and how not to lose any files (apps, sms, settings etc etc), that's what putting me off from ROMs the most, losing all the stuff and setting it up back again.

As it seems you are not 100% aware of rooting, and your phone came rooted, maybe try to read first in the general section all the basic how-to documentations (e.g. how to root, how to unroot, how to flash a rom etc.). This will give you the background knowledge that you need.
After you got that knowledge and understand it, you can flash a stock Samsung JB rom via Odin or Mobile Odin Pro. The rom itself you can get on sammobile.com, here on XDA or via checkfus.
I hope it helps

Not Rooted full backup (HELP)

Hey guys

I saw a custom TouchWiz Galaxy S5 4.4 KitKat ROM thread and I immediately wanted to download it, but Im afraid in case I dont like it, I will have no way to get back to my old OS, so the question I want to ask is: Is there any kind of full system backup without root, or if not, is there a way to root it, backup, install the rom, and if I dont like it, reinstall the default one and unroot so I dont void warranty? Thanks.

Thanks.

You'll be able to go back.
I recommend backing up all your contacts, call logs, texts, apps, etc with a backup app like Go Backup, or something similar, then making sure that folder and your internal storage is copied to a PC or somewhere safe. Then you put the rom on your phone, install a custom recovery via Odin, reboot directly to recovery before it reboots to the OS (otherwise the stock system will replace the recovery with the original one and you'll have to do it again) and do a full backup of the OS and data (called a nandroid backup), then follow the install directions for the rom provided by the developer. Typically it's factory reset then install, but in some cases you will need to also wipe the system. Check the thread to see if they recommend using a different modem as many updates need the right one to make sure you have the best connection, GPS, etc.

Now I'm confused...how did you flash roms and do nandroid backups on the Galaxy Gio if not via a custom recovery?
But anyway, it's always good to check out your phone forum's Stickies, especially in the General and Developer sections.

I remember vaguely that I rooted it with some zip, installed cwm recovery but before that, i only backuped SMS, CONTACTS, CALL LOGS AND APPS, not the system, thus dictating that if I wanted to go back i needed a custom rom to install. I didnt make a backup copy of the system, just the ones I said above. In this one I want to make a complete backup, preferably before I rooted it so I could go back without voiding warranty. If you have any doubts, you can PM me your skype for a faster troubleshooting, thanks

Can't back up the whole system without a custom recovery. Only the stuff you previously mentioned and some other stuff like wifi/BT connections, wallpapers, ringtones, etc.
As far as recovery, it is accessed via Home+Vol Up+Power and Download Mode is accessed by Home+Volume Down+Power.

Ok so, then I have to root it, install cwm and download the rom and install in cwm.
Suggestions on where to find the root zip file and app to backup the whole system after I root it?
If you dont mind or can help with it, a step by step on how to root it, back everything up and preparing for install would be much appreciated as im rusty from messing around with that stuff

You don't need to root to perform a nandroid backup, just have to install a custom recovery via Odin and boot to it before the system reboots as it will overwrite the custom recovery. But I already gave you a link with all the info you'll need to root, recovery, and custom rom your phone. And as I mentioned, you need to look at the Stickies in the section for your phone here on xda. I don't like to help those that don't want to help themselves first.
