ROM Description:
This ROM is built from AOKP source using LorD ClockaN's IceColdJelly frameworks_base, RomControl, and Settings. You can love it, you can hate it, I built this for myself and decided I should share.
ROM Features:
All the standard AOKP features plus:
-Smoocha kernel compiled using CFX 4.8 toolchain
-HALO
-PIE
-ROM DPI changer
-Per app DPI changer (using Xposed installer and App Settings)
Credits:
None go to me. I'm not a dev, I just learned to build here on XDA:
LorD Clockan for his gangster custom sources (I've been a fan since the DHD/Inspire days)
AOKP
TeamLGOG
Chadouming for his dope kernel source
dvhexer for the call bug and app crash fixes
Lloir for the first ROM building tutorial I used on the HTC OneX+
Haze028 for the LGOG ROM building tutorial

Bugs:
I use it as a DD. I can't code at all, so squashing bugs will be tough.
-Status bar is sluggish if PIE is enabled
-DSPManager acts funny with the different audio outputs (headset, speaker, BT). I have that problem with other ROMS as well.
Installation:
You have to have been on stock 4.1.2 or LGNPST'd to it from a custom ROM. Search or ask if you don't know what that's about.
Do a nandroid backup
Wipe: data, system, cache, dalvik
Flash IceCold OG
Flash GApps
reboot
restore apps and app data using TB or your other favorite backup application
Downloads:

I use the AT&T Jellybean radio and BaNkSGApps

Here's the disaster one might consider a source.
Changelog
7/7/13: first build
7/19/13: Resynced to AOKP, IceColdJelly, and Smoocha sources. Added Android 4.3 boot animation. Used prebuilt DSPManager.
7/27/13: Resynced to AOKP, IceColdJelly, and Smoocha sources. Used IceColdJelly packages_apps_phone source to hopefully fix APN FCs. Thanks ActionMax09 for pointing out the bug. Put back the long list of APNs with AT&TPTA included.
8/3/13: Didn't resync to any source. Not a lot going on with 4.2.2 source right now as devs transition to 4.3. Forked dvhexer's hardware_qcom_audio source to hopefully fix the headphone bug. Thanks zymphad for pointing it out. Used AOKP APN list instead of the long list that comes with the device sample source. Added a "phone" APN to the list.
8/11/13: Resynced to IceColdJelly and AOKP sources. No smoocha updates lately. I'm not sure of any new features or fixes. It's been pretty quiet out there since 4.3 sources were released.
Can't wait to try it thanks!

I never had any camera problems. I just had to physically remove the camera from my phone to bring my phone with me to work, so I don't know if it works or not. Does anybody know how well the camera works?

Make sure you have the right APN active.
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
Are you on AT&T? I took out the huge list of APNs for all of the carriers and only put in the AT&T APN. If you have an APN you want me to add, I can put it in the next build. Or maybe I'll just put the huge list back in.

The weird things is that I am very sure it has to do with the APN. The problem is that it won't let me go in to change them. For some reason it crashes. I redownloaded the files and rom and flashed with a different recovery (clean.) It crashes on the APN screen. I am on At&T, I like this ROM alot so I am still messing around with it. Thanks for your time.

Got it. I'll fork the IceColdJelly phone.apk for the next build and see if that fixes it.
Right now I'm using the AOKP phone.apk and I'm sure LorD ClockaN modified it for IceColdJelly.

Fully compiled from AOSP source ( source.android.com) with their (Slim Rom team) mods and interesting ones from CM/AOKP.
Feature requests are welcomed as this is an unofficial ROM and I can do what I please with it.
As per the Slim ROM team, no ports based on my ROM zip or their ROM zip at all! Their manifest is updated regularly and they encourage building from source.
Check out the feature list here
Code:
[B][COLOR="red"]- Initial release of Slim Bean[/COLOR][/B]
[B][COLOR="red"]- Slim Bean Version 1.1 [/COLOR][/B]
- Fixed MMS (Confirmed by Sean8172 and Sinistertensai)
- Compiled with linaro toolchain 4.7 (12-2-2012)
- Optimized the ROM with Linaro -O3 (please read what Linaro does and all that stuff in the FAQs)
- Updated the hosts for an ad-free experience
- Please do a full complete wipe (everything but your sdcard) before flashing.
- Provide a logcat and/or as much detail as possible or your bug will be ignored.
- Remember the XDA rules! Please be respectful to each other, I do this for free and have NO TIME for the BS!
- If and when someone does step out of line, either ignore them or report them, don't feed the trolls...PLEASE!!

- Whatever you guys find.....testers had nothing to report
Source for the ROM - https://github.com/Slimroms
Source for the Kernel - https://github.com/Evervolv/android_kernel_htc_msm8960
Q - I flashed the ROM and now I have an issue, what should I do?
A - Don't freak out! Pull a logcat and paste it on to pastebin and provide me a link in the thread to it. Along with the logcat, please provide me with as much information as possible. Things that you would think could help me fix this issue.....i.e what kernel you're running, what happened, what did you prior to the bug/issue.
Q - How do I pull a logcat?
A - Check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726238
Q - Do I have to wipe before flashing??
A - YES, even if you're coming from a previous version of this ROM. By doing a full wipe each time, it not only avoids any issues that come from not wiping BUT if you report an issue, I then know that is a legit problem and not because of lack of wiping.
Q - I see (Insert developer name) has fixed this or has added this feature, are you going to do the same?
A - NO! No disrespect to that developer but I have not and will not keep up with what other developers are doing.
Q - I'm getting "Incompatible" errors in the Google Playstore, what can I do?
A - Don't freak out!! Read this post by spycom773469, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36319242&postcount=59
Q - My home button doesn't seem to work, what can I do?
A - 9/10 times this happens when you flash the wrong GAPPS. This ROM is 4.1.2 not 4.2 so you would need to flash the GAPPS for 4.1.2
If the problem continues, then please pull a logcat and post the url to the logcat so I can troubleshoot this issue further
Q - WHAT IN THE WORLD is Linaro?
A - I could go on and on about what Linaro is and bore the masses with facts and this and that BUT I won't!
Basically, linaro is just improvements done to the kernel and the ROM. These improvements are done by optimizing the GNU compiler collection (GCC) toolchain, the kernel, ARM power management, graphics and multimedia interfaces.
Q - What is Linaro going to do to this ROM?
A - Well it will do a few things to the ROM but one thing it won't do is, it won't increase the performance by 200 percent like you first heard when Linaro came out! It will indeed make things snappier. You will notice apps opening up a bit faster and in some cases, it will make a few of them run smoother. You will also see an increase in benchmarks (useless but fun to show off...lol) compare to a ROM not optimized by linaro by overclocking your device but I would recommend you not do this as this will also cause your battery to drain.

Rom is running very smooth. Facebook contacts sync without 3rd party app. Notification led only works if you set to always on I'm settings. No bugs so far, been running for about 4 hours. Haven't tried sending or receiving mms. Only issue I saw was the dotted circle battery mod shows blank when at 100%. I'd like to have lower auto brightness settings. I think there's somewhere to set it up. Just haven't found it.

Its not about reverting back to tw or aosp. Its about downgrading from 4.2.x to 4.1.x. You need to flash one simple zip after you've flashed the 4.1.x ROM(usually tw). It just restores your files to their original place as 4.2.x creates a new directory. Its really not a big deal to flash the zip. If you are going form a tw to aosp you shouldn't have to flash anything but the ROM and gapps.

Looking good over here. I hope battery life is as good as the Avatar ROM. I had Carbon 1.5 running but it drained my battery way faster that Avatar did.
This here is a top notch Rom am glad that i have Deviant Development on my Note 2. Like all other Roms put out by the team was impressed as usual. Will keep this as my daily driver thanks for your dedicated work guys five thumbs up.:good:
Last time I investigated, before official CM10 was out, I had to flash a zip before and after. Also if I wanted to use my micro sd formatted as exfat then I couldn't leave TW. I have been trying to find a decent workaround but could never find one. It's a necessity for me to store large files soo..... any ideas?
I'm glad now that I only have one zip to flash tho. Thats not bad at all

Been waiting for something to get me off touch-wiz, seen this and decided to leap. I will report any issues i run across(hopefully very few i can not find the answers to before asking...Thanx!!!
Am I an idiot... No, don't answer that, but where did developer settings go? I liked the ROM overall, but need dev options, especially back button kill which everyone seems to remove...
Also is there a way to change superuser when its baked into the ROM? I bought super super user and would like to be able to use it...
Later,
Jason

A ROM that we want it to be. Smooth. features. Creativity. Without those in the credits in the box, i guess, you won't see this ROM being a combo.
What is Xylon?
A Generally based of many kinds of features around the Android Development and fits into minimal customization. It may act up like AOKP, but totally not at all. Overall, we're still in work in progress state of changing the base to slightly minimal like FNV before. This ROM is built off with GCC 4.7, O3, Linaro Strings enabled. (Galaxy Nexus Kernel, fusion with anarkia's horn, O3 and Linaro GCC 4.7.3 enabled.). Feature list will be available in the 2nd post. Changelogs. We don't usually write up but we will starting builds of 2.2.

Only thing to report is that the Boot Animation is not full screen....its about the size of an iPhone 4 screen....other than that I've been running it for 17+ hours and not a single hiccup....great job
Yeah not going huge changes other than speed.

The boot anim is 720p. I requested a 1080p anim from our gfx artist and I'll integrate that once I receive it.

This was my go-to in my GNex days, has the perfect combination of features. It's been running great for me on the S4 for the last couple days, thanks for bringing it to us!

I love the sound the phone makes when you tap on an icon, or a menu button. It's just... different. I'm into it xD I would love you forever if that was a flashable zip or something alone those lines. Very nice ROM by the way! Tried it out but went back to Carbon because of Halo features. If this had Halo though.... oh boy... game changer.

Yeah I realized that 25 minutes after I posted that comment. I feel dumb I saw the Halo)))) app but I just thought it was a missing feature that wasn't taken out. This is now my daily!
So I'm having a hard time entirely disabling hybrid, I choose phone mode and things are mostly sized properly, however quite a few things aren't? Is there anyway to remove it entirely? I don't know how people can even enjoy hybrid mode...

Did you reboot after disabling hybrid mode? Beyond that, make sure UI Mode and Apps UI Mode are at 320, and System Density and Apps Density are at 480. Then go through DPI Groups and remove all apps from each group. That should put everything to "stock" even if hybrid mode was still on. For the record, I love Hybrid Mode

If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or AOKP team if it conserns their modifications. This rom isn't AOKP supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

What's Broken:
ROMS
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy KK. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
You want to see a normal night at the DEV office, click here!!

Probably not. It doesn't seem like they have any nightlies going on, so it wouldn't benefit me much. With Vanir and CFX I just got the builds going and submit it to their git and I can set it and forget it, it'll build automatically. I'm the maintainer for CFX, so I gotta keep up with the device tree. With Vanir we managed to get it going with straight CM device tree, so no tooling around needed there. I haven't been able to get AICP's kernel to work yet either.
Will everything you do for this device is much appreciated... Im enjoying the Vanir ROM right at this moment...

What a great ROM. I just plugged it in this morning. I love the resolution, how smooth and fast it is, and the WiFi / 4G strength is fantastic.
Great work. Best KK ROM yet.

I've got a weak spot for CFX, but AICP was a second favorite of mine on Jelly Bean. I think it carried over nicely to KK. I like it a lot. I have a hard time choosing between CFX, AICP, and Vanir.

I had this with all of the CM Based roms. Not seeing it on this rom however, but didn't try.
On issue I DO have is that the android keyboard is constantly downloading at 10k/sec when on wifi.. I had to stop, clear cache and temp files, and now it looks like it is OK.

Great ROM. Loved the 4.3 and really liking the 4.4. I though this rom used another font as the system default.. anyone know what I am talking about?

running very nice ... took me a min to find the switch to slim recent menu for anyone else here it is .. Settings -> AICP Extras -> Display & Animations -> Enable Slim Recents.
so regarding my issue with the network dropping. It seems like is has something to do with the Connection manager settings in AICP settings. If i turn it on or make any changes I lose my network completely.. I got confused and gave up messing with it but I thought I would let someone know. Not sure if that feature is functioning or not but I have reverted to the CM11 nightly for now.

Not all features are available yet.
Features:
Welcome to VanirAOSP. Our mission is to deliver a clean optimized version of Android with subtly improved versions of the features you love to as many devices as possible. we've tried to incorporate and improve our features in a way that makes them more cohesive to improve the overall user experience while correcting any performance regressions and improving functionality..
What to expect:
- This is not a McCopy ROM. What goes into our build is well thought-out and not a bunch of stuff duck taped together because we could.
- maximum optimization. We do our research. We test hard. We build -fstrict -O3 globally and include a massive array of code optimizations and memory leak fixes that we write ourselves and eventually submit to AOSP or Linaro.
- originality in our source. We generate a lot of new commits being features or general code improvements. We are open source to share and improve the community but we also try to make sure we offer a unique experience.
- aesthetics.. hopefully in your opinion
General features:
stock mode - ability revert to stock AOSP code with the exception of a few custom features we chose to keep active
enhanced performance.. longer uptime with less slowdown
custom written CRON and init.d.
UI and graphics improvements
custom navbar, navring, and hardware key features
improved notification handling (active display & halo are in review also)
usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound
animation control
Improved Vanir keyboard
CM's profiles & quicksettings
additional quicksetting tiles
immersive mode
statusbar mods
clock & battery mods
lockscreen blur and other mods
soon to come -> quick cam and flash notifications
busybox, embedded root, init.d, cron etc
yatta yatta yatta
more to come when i feel like updating the op
