[Q] Individual ringtones on incoming Google Voice calls - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

On incoming calls to my Google Voice number, the caller id properly displays my contacts, but it ignores all my custom ringtones and only uses the default one I set in Settings. Is this like, how GV works? Is there a 3rd party app to make it work properly?

[Q] Google Voice - AOSP Compatible?

i noticed on Google's website, it shows a google voice call being made over the normal dialpad w/ some Voice splash on the screen.
I am using CM7 and there is no splash visible and no indication if voice is even working. Does anyone else here use it and on a Sense or AOSP ROM?
Works fine on sense. You press one to answer calls made to you on your google voice number and i have it set up to ask me if i want to use google voice when i make my calls or not
Sent from my TBolt using my f***king thumbs...
Same here I use CM7 which is AOSP
Sent from my Thundebolt running CM7 RC1.5.2
It doesn't matter what you use, sense or aosp, google voice works. You can make voice calls through google voice from your desktop (the screenshot I think you're referring to). On the phone, the google voice application allows you set it to make all calls using google voice.
Here's the caveat. Calls through google voice from your cellphone use the actual cell connection. It first dials the gvoice call center, and then routes to the number you dialed. If the gvoice call center's phone # is in your 'calling circle' or whatever, it's all free minutes.
It sounds more like you want to do VoiP...replacing skype, or fring. Make voice calls over your data connection, am I right? If that's the case, grooveIP has REALLY impressed me. It connects to your google voice account, and makes calls using the same voip interface as the desktop screenshot thingy (calls from the desktop browser).
That, or a complicated set up involving SIPdroid, sipsorcery, gvoice, and a 3rd party SIP service (there's a few free ones).

[Q] Assign a phone number to my Fascinate

Does anyone know how to assign a phone number to the Fascinate. My phone has no service and I am using GrooveIp to make and receive phone calls on WIFI using my Google Voice number. I am unable to install Google voice to handle texts since the Google Voice number does not show up in the phone....
You have to add a phone number from the google voice website. It could be any number, home phone, friend's phone, make sure the number you add has service cause google voice will call it with a verification number. Once you verify the number on the website make sure you disable it so that when people call you it does not forward to that phone, keep it on google chat so groove ip continues to work. Then when you go to the voice app it will list the number you verified, select it and you will have a few options based on what you want the voice app to do for calls, I usually "put do not use voice for calls" skip the voicemail part and you should be able to receive text and voicemail messages with the app. Hope this helps!

ATT visual voicemail AND google voice work together

so i have my regular ATT number and my google voice number setup on my note
i have google voice set to call screen... it gives you option to accept or send to voicemail
this way i can always see caller id, and if it gives me the screen option i know it was calling my google number
now here is the cool part, if they are calling my google number and i don't answer or screen it to voicemail... IT GOES TO GOOGLE VOICE MAIL
if they call my regular ATT number and i don't answer, it goes to ATT visual voicemail!
so now i can see caller id, i can tell which number they are dialing from the screening, and if i miss the calls the voicemails are separated so i know which number to call back from!
i do hate the ATT messages app and it duplicates gosms pro notifications but that is minor annoyance for having 2 distinct numbers and voicemails on 1 phone
How did you get the Visual Voicemail to work?
How did you get the Visual Voice Mail to work on the ATT NOTE? Thanks!

Forwarded Incoming Call Notification on Amaze 4G?

I have several mobile numbers in different countries diverted to my Amaze 4G, and it is crucial for me to understand - before I pick the incoming call - if the incoming call was placed directly to my current SIM or it actually got diverted from my other SIM.
I tried two apps: Forwarded Call Alert as well as Divert Call Indicator, and then I also tried converting them to System Apps – but still with no luck.. no any notification re the diverted calls.
Does anyone have an idea how to get this basic GSM feature working on the fabulous HTC Amaze?

[Q] Confused on receiving calls with new Hangouts/Voice.

Very excited about the new Hangouts and Google Voice integration.
I use my Google Voice number as my primary number for calls and text.
1) Now that I have the new Hangouts app, does the Google Voice app provide any use?
2) At home I have poor signal, which is a perfect environment to receive calls to my GVoice number in the Hangouts app. Unfortunately when I check the "Incoming phone calls" option in Hangouts and when I receive calls things get confusing. The Hangouts dialer rings first, which I presume is the call being routed over data to my phone. Then the normal phone dialer rings, which I presume is the call being routed over the cell signal. This normal dialer shows up on top of the Hangouts one. If I want to answer the Hangouts one b/c I know my data signal is more reliable than cellular signal, then I have to slide the normal dialer to "hangup" and then answer the Hangouts one. Is there a way to disable the normal cellular dialer besides putting my phone in airplane mode when I'm home.
Thanks.
