I am a heavy torrent user and usually depend on overnight torrenting to get all my stuff done.
With my previous phone, I used to download using ttorrent all night and I have a few concerns now regarding my new S III.
So, what are the adverse effects of leaving a torrent download overnight with the AC adapter connected?
Any help appreciated.

Bloody good question mate, I'd like to know this as well but I think we'll need to wait for a review or for someone to get the Infuse 4G to see what the battery looks like.

Hmm the phone dimensions might indicate a large battery in dimensions but that could also just as well be the phone itself being larger due to the .2" larger screen?
I've asked Android Community guys who done the side be side comparison, will let you know shortly.
How nice would that be if it would fit, The phones "physically" are similar. maybe when at&t gets the phone ill go rip the battery out like a mad man and try it in my sgs2

WOW how did you get such good battery use?
I get only 12 hours and its dead. Only texting and some email and some web browsing. I'm running everything stock and have background syncing enabled
I also am charging the phone with the cables from my atrix, if that makes a difference.
Thanks in advance
Damn, oh well worth a shot I guess

Well everyone has their own definition of "heavy usage".
Mine discharged in 3 hours of non-stop Tank Recon gaming yesterday (gave it to a group of kids), WiFI off, but all notifications on , like push for gmail, yahoo mail, talk, YIM, facebook, twitter, etc, and net-connected widgets updating.
Admittedly this was my second day with the phone, and the battery did not "optimize" itself yet, plus I did not tweak anything yet either.
I'm having an issue with Juicedefender and that latest KG3 firmware. The problem is that somehow juicedefender keeps the phone wake constantly. It turns the radio on/off but because the phone is wake all the time it the batterylife doesn't improve at all.
Anybody else having this issue?
Not sure if this helps, but, I'm running JD 3.5.8 Beta with KG2 without any issues.
Two schools of thought on JD
One it saves battery posed mainly by newbies .
Two it drains battery posted by very experienced users and devs .
jje
For me it doesn't matter either way. Infact I'm better of without it because JD turns the radio off which means no instant push. I'll see if I can downgrade to KG2 and replicate threw results.

there can be no doubt whatsoever that Juice Defender particulary the paid versions does save battery.

Agreed. How can it not work if it only syncs every 15 minutes or whatever you set. It in no way interferes with my usage either.

Well obviously there is.
Im glad im not loosing my mind also here, but im on a SGS 4G with the beta version of Juice Defender Ultimate, and it also will wake itself up every few minutes, screen on and everything. That alone is taking up a lot of unessesary battery drain.
Does anyone have an update here?

Use better battery stats to identify the applications which are draining battery for you instead of using jd.

This is correct, get rid of JD it drains more battery than it saves and that is fact.
That's a bold statement, and not true in my case. Why do you think that?
I've heard varying reports of how long peoples' batteries last, anywhere from 9 hours to 3 days. But what seems to be the common theme is that if you use your phone pretty frequently, you'll get maybe 10 hrs, but if you use the phone sporadically and not for long periods of time, you can expect the phone to last through the day and even maybe the next. But with mine I've found that the battery on average will last me maybe 10 hours, but that's with slight to almost no use. From what people have said online, the screen is what sucks up battery, but when I check with GSam Battery Monitor, my screen never seems to break 30% of my battery use. Apps are what usually take up ~45% of my battery. What's up with this? I don't wanna have to buy that stupid Mugen case, because it apparently sucks, but there are literally no other options to extend my battery... any advice? Will post screenshots. Thanks!
GSam screenshots
Also, as you can see, the individual app %'s don't add up to the huge number that Apps is taking up... is that related/significant?

It looks normal to me. Usually the people that are saying they get good battery life are the ones that are on a custom Rom and a custom kernel. From my findings the stock Rom especially with the net updates battery life seems to be worse with each update. One really good combination I have run that yields amazing battery life is CM11 and crpalmers kernel. That combination will give amazing battery life. It also depends on what you use your phone for. Judging by your screen shots thing look pretty normal. I would try giving battery guru a go in the market of you want to get some more juice. Let it learn your habits and it will help with you battery life.
You also have to remember as the device ages and you recharge the battery you can't expect it to remain fantastic like the first day you got it. Like anything else they wear down over time and can only go through so many charging cycles.
Or it may just be your battery starting to go bad. Its hard to pin point what may be wrong. It may be as simple as a rogue app. Try some of the suggestions I mentioned above and post back to let us know how your doing. If your not rubbing a custom Rom I recommend switching to one. They are packed with features and the battery life is generally better.
Anyways good luck. Post back if you have any more questions.

100% agree. Especially with the updates leading to worse battery life.
I recently switched to the DNA from an S4. Unlocked and S off'd. Flashed 4.4.2 Rom and immediately noticed how awful battery was in comparison to my Samsung. I actually flashed an older jellybean Rom with Sense 4+ and now I'm experiencing battery life as good as my S4, even though the S4 has a larger battery and newer hardware.

Thanks for the info guys i'll keep that stuff in mind. I've tried several times to S-Off and flash a custom ROM but every time I try, firewater or rumrunner or whatever im using that time always says 'connection failed.' I've been unable to find any fix for why it's failing, so i've kind of given up. Any chance you guys can link to any super simple instructions?
Like I honestly don't understand temproot and those things. thanks!

i have an lg battery i just got but seriously the battery shouldnt be that bad. if you can use the screen above 50% brightness and not be able to last for a day i kinda think its a joke. roms and kernels better fix this!
You guys should try changing your Governor to OnDemand and put PowerSave_bias =1.
That's helped me quite a bit and my phone behaves the exact same way.

Well I totally agree with what you said earlier we need Roms and kernels.
I also saw some real Battery improvement after disabling CheckIn services for Google Play Services and Framework as well as disabling the Receivers for com.lge.ims then freezing it.
That thing was waking Mr phone an insane amount of time during the day.
It handles Calls Over WiFi . which I don't use.

Ahhh man I'm sorry to hear it's not working out for you. Maybe wait for when extended batteries come out?
What kind of screen time and use are you getting roughly??
I have Lux set at Max brightness of 70% and even during the day in the sun with glasses on I can see it great. Damn screen does suck the battery down good though I know.
After chasing down WakeLocks and uninstalling the bloat my G3 is great now. No not nearly as good as it could be if we had Roms etc.
And these things charge up hella fast too so that's another plus.

First it was like 70% of battery at the end of the day,

i found out that google app is drainig a lot of power but obviously there is no way to stop it or to uninstall it.
Any advices? Im on stock 8.0.0.378 European software, zero modifications.
