Hello everybody,
i noticed an issue this morning with google plus.
As i think you know, latitude is going to disappear and i activated the location share on google plus.
But when i go into local, i can see all my friends sharing their positions, but the map doesn't show... as a matter of fact, i see icons on a empty display.
I tried to reboot, to clear cache and dalvik, also to remove and re-install google plus app, but nothing changed... have you some idea? what kind of problem is this?
Thanks,
Claudio

Hello Diablo67,
thanks for your answer.
But in this case, i should have also some problem with maps and latitude, don't i? But maps and latitude, they work fine
Moreover, my position in Google+ is good, i am tracked well... just my icon is on a blank screen, without any map under it

I would contact the developer about that,could be a specific bug.Log into Google Playstore and go to "Whats new"thats the bug list and what its not compatible with.

same here. are you also using maps beta? the new maps preview ?
The workaround for the problem is to make Google+ a system app.
I had the same problem before and it helped me.

Thanks for the link. I have an interesting issue with my HTC one: everytime I make Google+ a system app everything is gone (app & libs) after the reboot. It doesn't matter how I copy / move the files: adb, ESExplorer or Titanium: after the reboot the files under /system/app & /system/libs are gone.

OK so this is completely new to me. My current location for weather has changed. Any ideas? It almost looks like Arabic text, however the location weather is correct. Any ideas? Driving me crazy.

i would try rebooting, if that doesnt help maybe turn on gps and fiddle with maps until you get a location for yourself then re-sync the weather.

tried it all man. I've rebooted, restored various roms and they all switch to that as my location, tried maps too. no dice on anything.
like i said, the weather condition and temps are correct.....UGH!
I think it looks like its from around Indonesia or Malaysia? Maybe your phone thinks you are on vacation in Kuala Lumpur
Hah well glad I know what locale my phone thinks I'm at. Driving me crazy though. Between this and my new found poor bluetooth A2DP streaming I think I may be heading towards a replacement phone.
In case this comes up with others, it's a bug with VZW's location services. Make sure to not have that turned on. HTC apparently acknowledges this bug with their weather widget and the service. Google and GPS are fine to use.

Hey guys,
For 2 weeks already, I have a problem with the Google Search Bar widget on my S9+.
Before:
Whenever I've clicked on the search bar, a news feed with my interests would have been shown
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now:
Whenever I'm clicking the search bar, a search history is opening and at the bottom I have a "blue house" logo. If I click on that house, it will take me to the news feed I'm asking for.
The problem is that, showing the news is no longer direct and now has 0 commodity. Whenever I want to check Google News I need to press the search bar, then the blue house etc...
Is there a way to roll back to how it was before? Anyone having my issue?
What I've tried so far:
1. Clear Google Now Cache
2. Clear Google Now Data
3. Disable/Enable Google Now
4. Re-install the app/updates
5. Remove/Re-add the widget
6. Looking through Google Settings, noting found.
Please help me out, I will appreciate.
Hi Rasherr, I have the same issue. It seems that Google decides to hide more and more useful features of Google now behind menus or buttons making it harder to reach them. This makes no sense.
I get the feeling that Google either:
1) wants to hide the amount of information gathered due to recent privacy schandals (Facebook)
or
2) wants to move all the useful Google now features to Google assistant and is preparing for phasing out and eventually removing Google now.
Just my 2 cents
This worked for me....
The same problem was driving me insane! As lazy as it sounds I don't want to have to keep typing out the same search!! So here's what I did that fixed the problem for me.... in the Google app under accounts and privacy, go to manage activity I think it was (I had to dig around a bit and play with search settings too, but the final result was "do not use private results" was checked. Once I checked use private results instead I went back into the app and it's working just like it used to! I hope this helps sorry I couldn't give more detail!
Hey do you have any more details on how you did this? I looked around manage activity and could only find 'do not use private results' on my pc and I was already set to use private results. No idea where it is in the app... Do you have any more info?
My Google Maps blue dot has a pretty wide beam, and when I first start Maps it never seems to know which direction I'm facing until after moving 50ft or so.
I learned about the method to calibrate the compass by tapping the blue dot, selecting calibrate compass, and doing a figure-8 motion 3 times. However, it never changes out of "low" no matter how many times I've attempted it.
Additionally, Google Maps speedometer always shows 0 or --.
I have a new Samsung A50 Verizon with all the latest updates.
Is there any way to find out whether my compass hardware might be bad, or any other suggestions on what I might be doing wrong? I currently drive for a living using rideshare/delivery apps, so this is extremely frustrating for me.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure if the A50 has the edge app.. If it does you can try installing the "tools" app. It has a compass and at the bottom there is an option to calibrate. This works for me.
For some reason calibrating the compass from Google Map Doesnt with for me.

It's edge panel.. Part of the functions of the phone. I'm not too sure if it's included in A series but it is present on s and note series..

Struggling to get Redmi Note 9 Pro to store my Google Maps history.
I used to have it quite smooth in Samsung A8 and other devices, but here I only get a couple dots connected with straight lines. Mostly these points are from the moments when I unlock the phone. Locked phone doesn't allow G-Maps to get the history right.
Some exclusions: when I use Maps navigation, timeline stored is very precise.
What I have tried:
- "lock" maps in task switcher
- set permissions for Maps, services, other location-related apps - to "Allow while in use" or "Allow always" (when this option is accessible)
- disable batter-saving for these apps
- share my live location permanently to my friend through Google Maps. He can see the location, but at the same time no history/timeline stored in a smooth way.
What I would like: have the Timeline with much more details stored.

Same problem here. Very annoying!
My workaround is using http://gpslogger.app and letting it locate once per minute and upload the data to my Google drive. Thus location timeline becomes reasonable accurate.

How much battery drain does this cause? (How much more battery life would you get if you disabled this)?

Hard to tell as I'm very much confined to my home at the moment and only leave for some hours. Whenever I let the phone just rest on the table, It doesn't even locate or send the location. The other problem (random freezes and reboots) didn't happy any more since I set my 2nd sim card to 3G.

hello admins, good evening all!
After i setted up dual messenger, i noticed a huge battery drain while using it and i already disabled it. The qyestion is, how can i remove these clones? It has for android system, chrome, android system webview etc.
I've tried clearing it's data, disabling dual messenger but still can't remove these clones.
My device is: Samsung A10s rumning android 10.
Thank you all.
Try clearing Android services, Google Play Services and dual messenger's data... and/or disable/turn off the latter.
Clear system cache.
Just a guess... play with it.

My bad. Android Systems.
This may be normal behavior, not sure... I never used this feature.
Try deleting the second dual messenger account.
Set up the primary as single account.
Might have to clear the 2nd account out of Goggle (on that phone) as well.
A package blocker will shut them straight down...
