One big change that I noticed on the GE 4.3 was the addition of the emoji keyboard, so I extracted it and put it into my system/app (with the necessary permission (rw/r/r) changes of course!) and tried it out, here it is in case anyone else would like it. Android users are finally able to use Emoji on twitter/Instagram/facebook!
EDIT: Doesn't seem to like Touchwiz or 4.2.2, force closes continuously.
EDIT2: for a working flashable zip check eortizr's post below (post #8 ) be sure and thank him!
Doesn't like CM 10.1 either on ATTS4
Edit: just noticed the OR statement

Maybr it also requires some libs? If its working on google edition rom than id say its just missing some libs
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
It seems to work flawlessly in my sgs4, the libs you need is called "libemoji.so" or "libwnn.so" in system/lib.
You cand find it in some thread in the forums, i had it since the first version of jellybean.
The problem I found is that the keyboard doesn't display the emojis, I don't know why, because we have the emoji font already.
Good luck and see a preview

Maybe it requires some frameworks to detect the emoji font in system, but anyways, the new emoji keyboard works very well in my phone.
You can use it on whatsapp for example, but you can't see the emojis you tap in the keyboard.
Well emoji is working good with just the apk and lib...However, its still a hassle to use as you have to enable it under settings, and once enabled you have no access to regular keyboards...now im assuming the google keyboard from 4.3 leak has a shortcut to the emojis however im having dificulty getting it to work on the stock rom, it doesnt seem to want to load when enabled and also causes massive lag throughout the system when enabled...tomorrow ill get a logcat to see what im missing...and hopefully im not wasting my time
Edit: if I cam figure this out I will create a flashable zip for users

Maybe im missing something....the emoji part works as did my other emoji keyboard from 4.3...but what I want is a normal keybiard that has a shortcut to the emojis on the keyboard...that way I dont have to go into my setting every time I want to use an emoji.
Now in the zip I noticed it does have "iWnnIME_Kbd_White.apk" and " iWnnIME.apk" the second is the emoji keyboard...the first looks like its supposed to be a regular keyboard, however it never pops up in my settings as an input method...for you does this install a regular keyboard as well? Or do you also have to go into settings everytime to use the emojis...
Was able to figure out a work around by installing the Google keyboard from the market, deleting all other keyboards including Samsung's and swype, then under settings of both googles and the emoji keyboard check the option "switch to other input methods" this places a new key next to the space bar that when pressed switches to a different input method...you can long press it to select a diff one or just quick press it and it will switch to the next one...by deleting all other keyboards I only have one other keyboard so it by default it just switches between the Google keyboard and emoji now

Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
I found an easy fix to view emoji on my Samsung 4. I changed the font back to default or samsung sans in settings. I can now view black and white emoji. ?
Waiting patiently for colored emoji view with any font in any program.

I've tried this as well as Kii keyboard + emoji plug in. I've always been able to see emojis and wants to be able to use them in texts too.
It seems though that the recipients are unable to see them. They just get question marks. This has been for ios users and android users I text.
Is anyone able to confirm that others can see the emojis when sent?

I still can't see emojis in keyboard or interface, I only can see some symbols and squares. What could be my problem??
Can I check whether you're sure that you extracted this iWnnIME.apk from the system apps in Android 4.3?
Reason why I'm asking is that iWnn IME is actually a 3rd party IME that's available in Play Store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.omronsoft.iwnnime.ml.sc04d&hl=en). I find it difficult to believe that Google would include it as a bundled IME in their factory images.
Can you verify this? Thank you.

Id rather have the keyboard from the Note II on my original note. Much more usable. Less epileptic as the current one. I hate that the prediction / spell check bar disappears after each word and then pops up when you start typing the next.

EDIT: Found it! When the additional keyboard is enabled (Settings->Languages & Keyboard->Android Keyboard ON), a keyboard icon appears in the notification bar. Dragging down the notification bar shows "Select input method" which then allows for a kb switch.

Is there a way to send Emoji's with the stock messaging app? Maybe I am just totally looking over something but I don't see it anywhere. I know I can see them when other people send them to me. Well they have a "Android-like" skin to them but they are still there. In stock Android I know you can use them for 4.0 and above.
My wife did some research, could not find a way to use those on Android.

Oh you can definitely use them on Android. If you run stock Android and it's 4.0 and above, it is built into the native messaging app. If you don't have stock or 4.0 and above, you can download a messaging app like Handcent and you can use them that way. They are definitely ways to use them. I just want to know if there is a way to use them in the native messaging app in Sense

Jellybean supports the viewing of emojis we just can't use them until a keyboard creates a language pack for it.. I've read SwiftKey and swype are working on it but that was a while ago
