[Q] Help - MyUI v5 no SMS text inbound (vm cdma) - HTC EVO 3D

Can't figure out why I can't receive sms text messages when outbound text/call are OK. I disabled the firewall & added phone #'s to the whitelist for approved inbound calls/texts. Performed a format and full wipes on install of this ROM, no probs during install either. This is the Filename: MIUI_3.7.12_SHOOTERS_DH.zip universal version (gsm/cdma) found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2047911&highlight=mms+fix from digitalhigh.
I selected the virgin mobile and buttered toast options on install. No other probs found. Only oddity is no app drawer apparent.
Regards,
Marz

There is no app drawer in miui. Its very iphoneish. Try downloading chomp and sending sms through that. I know my phone does the same thing your talking about but on Cricket.

Thanks, I tried Chomp but still can only send outbound texts. I feel it may be related to either permissions or a firewall; but I've looked without success for any related apps. I've used the bt kernel before w/o problems so I'm stumped for the moment.

Google voice in GB

Just installed the rooted GB update with sense. Problem is that google voice installs but wont set itself up to handle my voicemail. In the menu>call settings I can't select it as my voicemail service. Anybody else experiencing problems?

Did you integrate your number from sprint to gv?

No problem here.
For me I can select it but when it goes to setting up the account to make it so ur voicemail routes to Google voice. I can't do it

Do you mean you get to the point where it says something like "call #(whatever your number is)' and you click that and it tells you that it didn't work?
If so, if you click on the help link (or go to the URL) it will explain how to to it; basically, you have to go to the web site for GV, go to settings, select your mobile phone, and under advanced settings enable voicemail.
Ill try that later

Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
I havent had that problem at all.....but all messages come through fine.....try searching the thread itself to see if anyone is having that problem and if they were able to fix it.
Make sure that integration hasn't taken over completely, gvoice has the option to reroute all messages to just the gvoice app

Problem sending MMS messages with Hangouts v2.0.122

Anyone else having an issue sending MMS messages using the new Google Hangouts app with SMS/MMS integration (v2.0.122)? SMS works as expected but trying to send an MMS just causes the message to attempt to send (you can see the cellular data kick in), hang, retry, then fail. Also, when receiving an MMS I get a notification to download (Even though I have it checked to automatically receive), and when trying to download it hangs as well. I'm bare bones stock with the latest Sprint update. I do have Google Voice integration, but I've tried adding and removing with no success.

I ran across the same issue while using the downloaded version from one of the websites. I had to uninstall it so I could have full use of my messaging services. If anyone knows of a fix please let us know.

Same exact problem here as op. I actually reported it on the google products forum and someone is looking at it.
Maybe you guys can join the discussion and escalate the issue and provide feedback.

MMS (and thus group messaging from iPhones) is also broken for me.
Those messages dont even appear in the stock sense messaging app.

I don't know if this will work for anyone else but this is how I got MMS to start working on my phone.
Go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > More... > Mobile Networks > Network Mode.
Mine defaults to LTE. I changed it to Global and rebooted. Once I rebooted, the MMS that my son had sent me earlier appeared with the picture displayed as it should. I went back in and checked my Network Mode and it had changed back to LTE.

Yeah....Sense users don't have those exact Settings, but thanks for the tip. Hopefully, it helps someone.
Fwiw, I upgraded to the N5 and I still can't send group texts. I need to get one to see if I can receive.

Thanks for reporting. I always wanted to use this as my primary SMS app, but the MMS was definitely a deal breaker. Too bad that I'm now on Sense 5, and I prefer the Sense feel much more.

Can't receive sms on Sense 5 after PRL

I was recieving SMS before yesterday morning but then I updated my PRL and profile and for some reason I can send them but now can't receive them. I updated to Sense 5.5 from a clean flash (without wiping data parition) and I'm still having this problem. Any fix?
UPDATE: Seems like I can't download MMS over WiFi anymore either (or is that just a Sense 5.5 thing?)
Does anyone perhaps have the lastPRL before the one you get from updating from the Sense 5 ROM? I was thinking I could flash that and it may be fixed

same problem here in orlando, mms on note3 and s3 will try to send wheel just keeps spinning and will say failed, but the person I sent mms to will get message 5 times, I am on boost, apn 32030
Just to update. I found out that Google voice was causing my problem. Don't know why though. On my old HTC evo 4G I never had this problem with Google voice.
Sent from my SM-N900P using xda app-developers app
Edit: Since disconnecting Google voice from my account I am now able to receive mms, but am still having the issue where when I send an MMS the message will send but my phone will show that it failed and repeatedly sends the message. Using stock messaging app.
