Help please PowerJB XGO and Google play services Strava app - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Is anyone using the latest Power Jb by Prototypell and using Strava cycling app? The rom works fine on the phone with google maps and routes. However if i use strava i get a warning message saying "Google Play services, which some of your applications rely on, is not supported by your device. Please contact the manufacturer for assistance"
The app then continues to load and works fine until i try and record a route. The app then crashes
Any suggestions how to get both working or do i need to try another ROM?

The rom does not support google play services. Back up and change rom as roms need to wipe

i dont think so, im using this ROM, it support google play services.

I have installed PowerJB 1.5, installed the Google Play Services Package (com.google.android.gms) but have still problems with Hangouts and Google+.
Google Maps works great. Is there any way to enable google services in this custom ROM?

I have a same problem here. G+ , youtube , hangouts don't work at all with the notification "Google Play services, which some of your applications rely on, is not supported by your device. Please contact the manufacturer for assistance".
Have tried reinstall ROM, dirty flash Gapps 4.1.2, clear data, reinstall google play services, not gonna work. It's a very great ROM though ....

Google Play Services 5.x DeepSleep "FIX"

The new Google Play Services 5.x keeps our device awake which results in battery drain.
Install Autorun Manager from Google Play Store and deactivate all SystemUpdateService$Receivers in Google Play Services.
Haven't DeepSleep problems for a week now. Read somewhere else that Google Play Services checks permanently for current Android version in Custom Roms.

A new CM version from johnnysylt should fix this problem
Before I deactivate all SystemUpdateService$Receivers in Google Play Services, may I know if it can be reversed?

Yes
Thank you Bender80.
This can also be done in Rom Toolbox- JRummy app, in Auto Start manager. Long press on Google Play Services, hit Advanced, and knock off those permissions.
Thanks for the heads up
Are there any other permissions you would suggest stopping?

New CM build contains a fix for that problem. I think it works. Other user mentioned in CM thread that battery drain is gone caused by Play Services. Don't know if it's fixed in other Custom Roms.
I usually don't revoke any permissions. Sometimes they have too many affects on other apps. Afterwards you can't remember what you have changed, if something doesn't work as normal. But this battery drain was a pain in the ***.

[GB][LP][Abandoned] This App Will Run Without Google Play Services 1.0

Do you hate Google Play Services and would rather not install it?
It's a well known fact that Google Play Services is a battery-eating monster, which cannot be tamed in any easy way.
Many prefer to simply get rid of it and forget about it, just like me!
This module is in no way a replacement for Google Play Services!
Some apps show annoying dialogs saying you need to install it, but in reality the app doesn't always require it (Snapchat is a good example).
This module disables the error dialog and notification APIs from Google and replaces them with nothing.
You can find the compatible apps list HERE.
Enjoy Google Play Services-free experience!
Compatible with all Android versions from 2.3 'Gingerbread' to 5.0 'Lollipop'.

Already loving the idea about this. Have a list of which apps besides Snapchat? Would be nice if Google apps can get bypass this like voice.

Sadly, no. I made this just with Snapchat in mind
But keeping a list of supported apps is a good idea, I'll try to find as many as I can.

I personally uninstalled it and removed all traces of it from my phone.
Because YouTube app doesn't want to work, I installed Viral instead.
What if I installed Google play services, and I wanted to use Location or GPS, would that handle it ?

This module isn't a replacement for Google Play Services (yet?).
However my phone's (XSP) GPS and aGPS works flawlessly without it somehow.
I was thinking of making this module simulate some functions in the API, but those are future plans.
nice idea! but it does not work with gmail? i still get the error message. i wish it could work with gmail and play store.
welp, restored my rom backup for now. still looking forward for future updates
this could be module of the year 2015 if this module can replace play services

First, you remove all updates from Google Play Services.
Then, you can use an app like THIS ONE to remove the system app.
Inbox doesn't work :crying:
Really nice idea however I can't live without gmail though
Viber is working when I deleted play services though

Cool! Maybe you can edit in op and write alternative apps too that way people wouldn't be too hesitant.

Be notified whenever Google Play Services/Store are updated...

Hi all,
Is there any app out there that could notify me (I don't even need to block, only be notified) when Google Play Services, Google Play Store and other silently autoupdatable Google apps are updated?
I recall to be able to do it using Xposed module X-Privacy... Now I'm on stock rooted Marshmallow and I wouldn't like to use Xposed...
Any app out there?
Thanks a lot.
No one cares ¿?
No one? Really?

Hello. Since I updated to MM I'm unable to enter into Google play services app it means that I'm unable to set anything related to Google play account even location management. I'm on Dev ROM 6.4.16 Chinese PLK-TL01H. Do you have any of you the same issue or any solution?

Yes , I had the same problem after MM update. But a reboot fixed the issue and google play service got updated. Try that and if that is not working out, try a factory reset.

Do I need Google Play Services for Google Authentificator App?

Hello, I need to use the Google Authentificator App for my job and I don´t know if it will work, because some time ago I rooted my phone and deleted all Google Apps. Normally some Google Apps not work on my phone, even if I reinstall Google Play Services. Would a full factory reset help? I want to avoid this but it is very important that this App works on my phone. I don´t know how to test this before I have to authentificate my phone in the office.

Authenticator shouldn't require Google framework.
