These little gold sprung contacts are responsible for various antennas including NFC, WIFI and Mobile signal.
Are they snapped clean off?

Oh balls
Actually after you said that I re-checked and it looks like the just slide back in There are 3 missing and 2 are located by the usb connector and the other one is about 2 cm's below.
Can these be ordered from anywhere do you know?
Thanks for the reply

Can anyone tell me what these gold push-on connectors are called please?
Thanks

A phone repair store might be able to replace them off a spare parts board for a fee. If you bring them the board and say you want the connectors replaced and are willing to sign a waver saying you accept full responsibility for device failure for them to replace them on a bare board.
Other than that, I've got no ideas. It's what I'd do personally.

Can anyone tell me what these connectors are for? I'm sure one of them is for the mobile signal as since I put it back together my signal has been very poor. Everything else is working fine, wifi , bluetooth, gps etc.
I've circled them in red in the pic in the attachment.....

Some help for a newbie... [broken screen]

First of I would like to say thanks to this forum.
I try not to post any problems that have already been answered and this forum was a big help in getting my xda unlocked.
However I had only had my phone in working condition for 2 weeks, enough time to start to like it, when it fell and cracked.
I ordered a new glass screen (no bleeding ink) and had it overnighted. I sucessfully swapped out the broken scree, but in the process I screwed up the phone. So here is whats going on with it, if anyone can help me out it would be awesome.
When taking it apart I accidently broke 2 of the connectors for the ribbon cables on the back of the pcb. Now the phone wont turn on. The screen comes up but its just white and I cant tell if the os is loading.
Sorry for the long winded post
Thanks for the help
Chris
Also if this cant be fixed whats my best option, selling it broken or parting it out? How much could i get?

Well, I guess it depends on how broken the connectors are, but this definitely doesn't sound good...
If you post a few close-up pictures, I'll tell you if there's any hope for fixing it.
Well..
One of those 3 connectors lead to the screen.
My wild guess would be that it's not porperly connected since it's borken.
In that case, I would have done one of two things:
1. Buy a connector through an electronics component vendor, then ,manually replace the broken one or have a electronics lab do it for me.
2. Solder the wires to the connector's base manually (or in a lab) to over-ride it. (I hope you understand what I mean).
At any case, my guess would be a broken connection somewhere in the connectors (one of the 3). This can probably be fixed that way or another.
BTW - I have a lot of dust between the glass and the screen. How do you remove the glass from the screen (it seems to be attached firmly somehow)??
To take the glass apart from the lcd, there are 4 metal tabs (2 at the top and 2 on the bottom) you can pry a thin flat-head screwdriver between the metal tabs (you will see what I am talking about, when you look closer). It will sound bad but its just the glue coming apart.
I tried to get the connectors but had no luck finding a match.
So I am going to part out the phone.
Ill be posting the ebay auctions for the lcd screen, the new glass piece, the motherboard, the battery/case and whatever misc accesories I have lying around.
Before I put all the parts on ebay, I figured I would give the people on here a crack at it. I will entertain all reasonable offers. Send me a PM.
Here is what I have for sale
Case in good condition w/ battery
Motherboard - in good condition just missing the two plastic pieces where the lcd connects.
Brand new glass touchscreen/digitizer
Lcd Screen
Also for sale the in-wall charger, the sync cradle with an extra 3 stylus (styli?).

[Q] Replacing the Digitizer

I recently had 2 dead lines going down my screen. From searching around I found that I needed to replace the front screen digitizer.
So I got a new digitizer, tore down the phone and followed the steps from a few youtube videos pretty meticulously. I reassembled the phone, and it powers up just fine. But it now response to no touch. I'm going to do a complete tear down again, but is there any tips that can be given? I've checked if the digitizer's ribbon cable is snapped in, all the motherboard cables are also snapped in.
Is there something I should check to see if it's just the new digitizer is a dud? Since the whole phone powers up and functions fine.. to me that sends up red flags.
Oh and I followed this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbR56jSplRs
If nothing else works you probably tore the ribbon cable, which is very easy to do. Also make sure you got an OEM screen. There are cheaper reproductions that aren't nearly as good. (Feel, glass, and details) the one I bought on amazon (from seller1on1 I think) is oem. Contact your company if you can't get it fixed, the company I got it from sent me like 3 replacements before I realized I forgot to remove the plastic bar.

avoid the "oem" digitizers and go for the refurb with bezel as these are also much easier to fit.
Have put 2 on now. One to replace dead zones and one when I dropped and cracked the screen.
Thanks, I did get an OEM one. I'll contact them to have them ship me a new one!
And by tore ribbon cable you mean the one attached to the digitizer? That had to be snapped onto the top next to the power button?

Yes, that one. The problem is the end attached to the digitizer itself. Never had to dig into this myself (knock on wood), but they say the part where the cable is attached to the digitizer is very very fragile and tears of easily (sometimes even micro-tears, something you can't even see, but it still disrupts the connection). They also say that cable is ridiculously short and that is a part of the problem why it tears so easily.

[Q] Nokia Lumia 920 SIM Tray is stuck!

Hello,
I left a Nano sim adapter inside of sim tray and it is now stuck inside. I have tried to remove tray by myself , but i am afraid of breaking it.It pops up a little bit, but this is it. I have watched DYI videos on youtube, but unfortunately , neither one shows how to dissemble sim tray. I would like to know if somebody knows how to fix it or where I can bring it for repair. I live in Boston. but i just found third party repair shops. I do not know if Nokia has an official repair center nearby.
Thanks

Been there done that. Well i pulled it out and broke all the pins. Took it too nokia they asked for half the phones price to fix it, so i went onto ebay got an oem flex cable assemble and changed it myself total cost 45dollors.
If you havent pulled it out you can try cutting a thin peace of plastic slip it in side so that the pins get raised just a bit so that it will release the sim tray.
This is actually Apples Fault because if they used sims that every one uses i would have to put adapters into my other phones so fu Apple.

Did it come together with the matching sim door?
As long as you get a fully assembled back cover, this is extremely easy to do. There are just two screws at the bottom, remove them and the phone pops right out.
It did not come with the sim tray, but I think thats ok, with the original black tray it still matches the two toned color scheme. Like the black and red for example.
And petard you are misleading others, it is easy to separate the phone yes, but you must be careful when removing the micro-USB ribbon and connector assembly and the wireless charging coil! Other than delicate patience with those parts though, it is pretty straight forward.

CYAN!
@IronMan1289: Thanks for your explanation!
I was not shure why some sparepart seller say it's difficult and the phone needs some kind of calibration after the cover swap.
Anyway. Did anybody see a cyan cover as a spare part?
I would definitly risk it to change the color.

No problem! But as for the cyan cover, sadly that is an At&t exclusive so for the moment it will be pretty tough for sellers to get their hands on it.

I have also done this. Swapped my Cyan for the all elusive grey. We probably bought the covers from the same seller as mine also came from the UK. I did manage to get my hands on the matching sim door as well. I also had to swap the headphone jack, USB ribbon, bottom antenna (the part where the USB ribbon is attached to), and the wireless charging coil like you mentioned from the old housing over to the new one. I also managed to solve the dust getting into the FFC problem with a few dabs of rubber cement where the dust initially enters in. Overall it was simple and looks OEM. Sorry about the bad pics. Used my old G2.

Great work bud! Does look OEM, but did you not like the Cyan? Or did you just want a color change because I have read a lot that many want at&t's exclusive color, and both times I went they were sold out!!! Lol
Anyway, I am definitely digging the red and may consider buying other colors just for a random change every now and again!!!

Thanks! Yours looks awesome too! The red definitely looks great. Reminds me of a Ferrari lol. Well I got rid of the cyan because I dropped it a few times and the left top corner got bruised up pretty good and it annoyed the crap out of me everytime I picked up my phone. I originally was gonna get the yellow housing but I saw the grey and liked it so much more. I also had that same idea, but I don't wanna keep moving the headphone jack, flex cable, and wireless charging coil everytime I switch housings. I suppose I could buy those parts and pre-install them in the other housing so all I'd have to do is plug in the flex cable and drop the phone in, but I looked it up and all those parts including the new housing came up $166. Just can't justify spending that lol. I actually heard that the cyan was available online only through At&t.

Looks like they removed them all. At least the ones that come with everything pre-installed already (antennas, camera plate, etc...)
Only one I could find is this one, but it requires a lot more work as you have to transfer everything over from the old housing.

Not sure, but this might be the housing that contains all the components that Nissan350/IronMan1289 used. It costs around $113 (US) and is shipped from the UK...
You can also try this link. Quite a number of 920 parts available. Not all of them appear the be the best prices, but then again, there aren't many places selling them.

They are actually pretty good on the cost - £17 over all, including delivery. The problem - Delivery estimate is 10-25 days.
Still, gives me time to pull the thing apart and see how hard this will be

Did you happen to notice if the grey sim tray was a different size than the cyan tray? I swapped my Att black case for a Euro grey case, but my black sim tray will not fit flush in the grey cover.

USB port went inside?

I want to ask if anyone's USB port is the same as these picture. I can see the green part and looked like it went it. Or this the default design?
That is a defect buddy. Mine has the metal inset part flush with the plastic surround. I would either get it fixed or replaced as it could cause charging and/or data transfer issues.

I would have said mine was flush too but now I'm looking at it, mine is recessed like yours.
Look on google images and they all look recessed.
If anyone's got a flush one can they post a picture please?
But I think this is the design

Mine is the same as OP's. It looks like yours is a little further in than mine, but it could just be the picture. I cant see any of the green board in there. My metal USB port end lines up with the INSIDE of the case edge. So it is recessed, just like ~1mm less than yours..

Can yours see the green part as shown in the OP? If yours can then maybe is default stuff. Curious since I see one comment saying no green stuff but inside and one said covered
Now I'm even more curious. I sent a mail with the pictures in the op to Samsung and after a day they replied. They recommend me to bring to nearest Samsung center to service.
I feel like that's just the way it is, mine looks the same as yours
Mines slightly recessed but def cannot see the green board
Having said that, I've not plugged anything into the port as of yet in the 3 weeks I've had it - always used wireless charging

That looked good. You have well builded grey rubber thingy around the hole and is not too deep. Mine really looked deep. But Samsung refuse to repair because of the reason that it can be charged.

Not that port broken. The problem occur is if I put a case on, the usb can't plug in tightly. Slight movement will disconnect. So have to remove cover to charge. If it was outward a bit, maybe it will fix this problem.
