Yeah that means something happened during odin, did u have kies running? Try removing all traces of kies, then try again with odin, I ran into this exact same error with my s2 odin did a half flash because kies tried to connect during flash, if it doesnt work without kies then idk, my bet would be try removing all traces of kies ab then use odin, hope it works for u

did you try KIES Recovery?
Pull out your battery on your phone, . Re-install usb-drivers in Kies, reboot your computer.
Close everything related to Kies, also in toolbar trayagent and kies pdlr (right-click on windows toolbar). Put phone in downloadmode and try to reflash firmware with Odin.
Good luck
I've tried it in kies and my phone cannot be found. Just says connecting then no device found.

No, connect your phone to kies. In the topbar on the right next to help click and you`ll see something like usb drivers or connection problem, click on that and you can reinstall your drivers

It is added in odin.. see attached picture.
Thanks
Maybe a bad flash, dowload the rom again and try it again. The rest seems fine!
Re-extract the .tar from the .zip and try again. I ran into the same issue once; prior to re-downloading the firmware again I re-extracted the .tar, and all was golden. Good luck.
I re-downloaded the rom.
Stiil fail...
I can flash the kernal ok, but thats about it. Seems to be going wrong at the NAND write..
Uh oh...is this now an expensive piece of plastic?
Sorry mate, i don`t know what how to help you anymore. I suggest you go to a service center and ask for a software flash. Covered under warranty.
Good luck

Help! Error during stock firmware flash

Hi guys,
In need of urgent help, I was following totallydubbed's tutorial on returning the phone to stock as I need a warranty repair.
I tried to flash XXEMA2 firmware for Optus off Sammobile.
Everything was okay until about 75% through the odin flashing process of the stock firmware then I got an error about something not being able to be written.
Now on boot it displays "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"
Doesn't connect to kies.
I can get into download mode.

What error message did you encounter exactly? If you cannot remember and you can get into download mode as you said, did you try to flash again?
I spoke too soon, after spending about half an trying to connect it to kies and reflashing it. All it took was a swap into a USB 3.0 port which reinstalled the drivers and it worked.. Took about a third of the time also.. Strange.

Found old SII, need help to find out if it can be restored

Hey guys,
i found an old S II between my stuff and I wanted to make it work again. The baterry is still working, however when I turn on the phone i got the message "Fimrware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.".
I tried several tutorials with odin but I couldn't get the phone into the recovery mode. Odin recognizes the phone but fails everytime at Nand Write.
Any suggestion to find out if there is a way to restore the phone?
Try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/guide-26-12-flash-stock-firmware-rom-t2365701
Or... you could try flashing CyanogenMod 12.1.
It sounds like you wanted to update it via Kies. Perhaps just try to connect it to your PC, launch Kies and see what's happening.
