Wifi Calling - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

Looking for more than a stock rooted ROM that has wifi calling... A few suggestions on what ROMs support it would be much appreciated... I do know that it's not supported on anything 4.2.2 right now...

Forget about it
No Rom exists that's remotely custom on 4.1.2 with WiFi calling besides stock 1.27 or 1.29 all custom 4.2.2 Roms are fairly the same Not very themed and will not have WiFi calling on them either until we receive a official 4.2.2 ota. Then devs will then have the feature already baked into the source to implement WiFi calling into custom 4.2.2 roms

Well I know that but I've heard of roms, that are now based on 4.2.2, having an older base(4.1.2) that they did have the WiFi calling working on it... Trying to see if their were other roms where this is true too...

Jelly Bean roms

I appreciate all the hard work done by the developers and shared with everyone, so believe me I'm not complaining just trying to learn. Why are there no Jelly Bean roms out? I assume it's a technical reason.

Sorry I mean to post this under questions.
The devs typically wait to release new stuff to the public until it's stable enough for daily use. Maybe not completely functional, but almost there. Jellybean isn't quite there yet. Patience
Aosp has not even been completely been worked out for ics man were is lollipop rom at. Check out the aosp topic they are working on it.

In order to get Jelly Bean I believe AOSP for ICS has to be fully worked out. ICS is almost there. There's just a number of bugs that have to be fixed.
On a side note I'm really interested in seeing what Project Butter is like. Because Neo's AOSP ROM is smooth as hell by itself already.
CM9 is stable.I think it might have to do with kernel.

We need a device similar to ours to have jb so we can port it.

From what I've heard, Protekk is working on it for the tbolt. That should help out a bit I think.

Yes, by either porting it from devices similar to ours or from AOSP.

jb with sense 4.5 is already ported
cm10 not yet but they working on it ofc
EDIT
sense 4.5 is not based on jb sorry....
Thanks for the replies. I figured there was one large sticking point, but it sounds like there is a lot more to it than that. Can't wait to try Newts latest.
For Sense JB I think we would need a JB kernel which we don't have so AOSP for now.
Jelly Bean does exist but without bluetooth calling
There are Custom Jelly Bean ROMs. The only problem I have, and it's a deal-breaker, is that bluetooth calling does not work in ANY of them. I like Mean Horsey Face, but NO bluetooth...

This is great news. Thanks to both you and heyis4horses for your responses and to neo for his effort.
I haven't had good luck with 4.2. I ran it for about 18 hours, and while the BT calling and signal bars were fixed, I had scores of other issues, including choppiness, lots of force closing under heavy load, dock issues, and GPS issues (even after the GPS fix). It's still pretty broken, so don't expect miracles out of it. I'm going to be doing ROM work on it, but I'm not going to be releasing any of it until the base is in better shape.

can we root and still retain tmobile wifi calling and 1700hz hspa radios?

root and keep these functions?

Like the ones that turn HTC logo on to a menu button

each rom and kernel is different. You will have to read some.
Wifi calling is a sense feature so only on sense roms. As I said the radio is a physical thing so it doesnt matter the rom.

Is WiFi calling really a sense feature? I guess it's been ported when I use it on cyanogen. Are you sure?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I think Wi-Fi calling a T-Mobile feature. In the cyanogen thread, it is not supported. I'll probably leave as stock and just root
Most of the popular ROMs in the international section include a mod that enables wifi calling. You're definitely correct that it is a T-Mobile feature but since it's included on a Sense ROM (i.e. stock T-Mobile) it can easily be ported to other Sense ROMs. However, those are very different from cm10.1 and other AOSP ROMs and I'm not aware of any AOSP ROM for any device that supports wifi calling.

[Q] What's the best ROM that is compatible with WiFi calling?

Wifi calling is a must for me, so I know I'm limited to sense ROMs, but that's OK I'm starting to like Sense 5.0. What are the best ROMs you guys use that keeps Wifi calling?

This is my daily rom for the past month or more. Stable and fast with wifi calling which is also a must for me.

The m7 deodoxed 1.29 Rom recommended... above isn't anything different ,it's just a software update that fixed the capacitive button lag issue and a few other small things .
Stock is always the best option cause with most 4.2.2 Roms your not gaining much ..
Almost all 4.1.2 Roms are the same also . And look the same and do the same stuff ...To me roms haven't changed at all for the HTC one .. everytime I flash one and wait for a boot Into a awesome ui interface .. to my dismay they look same as the shipped rom..
It is always cool to have a reboot menu though...and some debloat... But themed sense roms... forget about it no such thing .. and that's what counts the most these days is a diff look .
I've givin up on flashing for the HTC one.. stick with stock .
Wifi calling is a solid feature and works 100% stock.

Works great
The op main concern was wanting a Rom other then the stock 4.1.2 roms, why is everyone suggesting all these 4.2.2 Roms that do not support WiFi calling with tmobile
Sent from my M7 using xda premium
Yes, it sucks that we basically won't ever get updated versions of Android with WiFi calling because of how slow T Mobile is. I'm still on TrickDroid 5.6 as well.

I am in the same boat as you. I've tried multiple roms. always experimenting with something. but at the end of the day, I come back to stock 4.1.2 because of wifi calling. but the 4.2.2 sense roms really did not give me much over the 4.1.2 sense roms. so for now, I am back on stock 4.1.2 rom, and added MoDaCo and the xposed framework. now I have a transparent status bar, a percentage for my battery indicator, long press on the back key to launch the menu, etc. And I have wifi calling. this will hold me over until a t-mobile 4.2.2 ROM becomes available.
Just another option you may want to consider.

Ya. I would just Google search for Maximus7 t-mobile htc m7. You should be able to find it np. Be careful to not install one based off of 4.2.2. You want a version that is based off Android v4.1.2 in order to keep your wifi calling
ARHD 9.4 works great with Wifi calling. It's 4.1.2 based obviously. I'm just keeping the radio updated until TMOUS releases a 4.2.2 ROM with Wifi calling that developers can integrate into 4.2.2 releases.

[Q] What rom's can I install on the One?

Can I install AT&T Roms, or google play edition roms? Or do I have to stick with just T-Mobile edition ones?

Dev's can't incorporate WIFI calling on 4.2.2 roms till T-Mobile gives us the files for the HTC One which sucks. But as the poster above said 4.1.2 roms work with the WIFI calling.

4.1.2 Roms?

Does ANYONE have any non stock 4.1.2 Sense ROMs with WiFi calling? I've been trying to huntdown Android Revolution 9.3 JB 4.1.2 but can't find it anywhere :-/

Man...i'm doing the EXACT same thing today for about the last 4 hours. I've gone from Orio to renovate and in between. I really needs my wifi calling.
Haven't really seen any non-stock sense roms around here yet. I'd assume that if it has sense, it would also have wifi calling though.

Well apparently it was very easy to get the WiFi calling apk in stock Tmo roms to work on other versions of Sense JB 4.1.2. That's what I'm looking for.
I find it incredibly frustrating that I can't find ARHD 4.1.2 >:-{

I have ARHD old versions 7.4,8.0, 9.2, 9.4 saved to my HD and I believe all support wifi calling, can upload whichever you prefer if you can figure out when mike went to 4.2
I use TrickDroid 5.6.0 (HTC One) it's 4.1.2 and has wifi calling etc.
I can't post a link as a newbie but if you search for it you will find it.
e.g. trickdroid.org/category/one/
Yes that is something I would love to see, something along the lines of viper with 4.1.2 and wifi calling... That would be my new daily rom until the update came out. TBO I think I will be going back to trickdroid 4.1.2 I think t-mobile has been doing something to the towers around here been getting a lot of in and out of service.
Sometimes you really can't tell the difference between the stock Rom and many other Roms out there.

Just the other day I actually went over to the ARHD thread in the HTC One and searched for WiFi Calling and found the ARHD 9.4.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43912050&postcount=38209
On another occasion I searched for TrickDroid 5.6.0 in Google and found their website. But as of this moment the site is down. Maybe give it a minute otherwise I could upload to my Dropbox and give you a link.
Out of the two, I prefer TrickDroid 5.6.0 just due to the customization options that are available.
But the one thing I love about the ARHD Rom, other than it's stability and close to stock feel, is their battery icon.
:silly::silly::silly::silly::silly::silly:
Turns out I didn't have TrickDroid 5.6 on my laptop so I had to download it to update my wife's phone. I went to their website http://trickdroid.org/category/one/ and the FTP Server 4 is a real link and downloading. The other four didn't work, but it's downloading now and hopefully it keeps going.
