After rooting my Optimus I tryed unlocking it with FreeGee i think it's called. I rebooted my phone and then it was stuck on the LG screen. Tryed using LGNPST but now my phone just has a blank screen. Whenever i connect it to the computer it makes the usb failed to connect sound. I don't know what to do.
It's bricked. Ignore this thread.
how do you know its bricked what does it show up as when hooked to pc..,, have u tried teeny bin or alt bin?

You need a computer the first time you root your device. There's no way around it.
I did it on the s2 first time.
Ah well. Guess il have to wait...

Can't you use a friend's PC ?
It's somehow hard to imagine that you got a 600$ smartphone but have no access to a device running Windows, Linux or MacOs and which got a USB-Host.
Note that PC doesn't have to equal Windows, even tough it makes life easier.
The screen on my laptop is smashed.

I have an htc amaze. It was first boot looping into the htc logo. My friend then went to h boot and did a factory reset.. Now the phone won't turn on, is this s brick ? If so can someone help me out. I'm not familiar with htc ...
Was it rooted? Recovery? S-Off? Rom?
Soft brick from not allowing a proper boot. Install a stock ruu via hboot, that should fix it.

If the device won't turn on It's a brick. How could it not be

Never said it wouldn't power on, just said it won't boot and a soft reset wouldn't exactly brick a device now would it? Unless he's not telling us something.

To be fair, often times not turning on is the same thing as not booting up correctly to those who maybe aren't as tech savvy. TC just needs to be a little more specific.

You needed to unlock the bootloader with freegee after you rooted the phone to actually delete any stock or bloat apps. There is a security check that runs when the bootloader is locked and freegee would of took care of that. Now you have to lgnpst back to stock. Grab the tot file in the dev section and get on irc and get the lgnpst.

Read the bottom of the OP in this thread and it tells you about irc. I can't ever remember off of the top of my head.

I'll be the first to say it...
I screwed up my phone entirely and I know. But that's neither here nor there at this point.
I'm really just hoping for some serious help at this point.
Thanks in advance.
I was stock ll4 baseband and attempted to run “one click"casual to root/unlock/recovery.
Somehow during this process my phone managed to root but failed to unlock or install custom recovery.
I made it back to home screen and checked for root status to verify.
This is where the bonehead mistakes come in
I then tried to install twrp manually thinking the bootloader possibly unlocked during casual. But it did not.
After trying to boot into recoveryi get a notification that I am running custom software and to return my device immediately to Verizon.
I can't get back to home screen either same message.
I attempted to revert to stock several times using droidstyle method and Odin keeps coming at sboot.bin.
Does anyone out there no wtf I did to my phone?
Please help. Thank you

Thanks for this.
I just PMd you. I am pretty much at a loss with where to go next. I have tried multiple restores to stock and sboot.bin continues to fail.
Thanks for your help

I've never seen that but they mention in the app to hit them up on IRC if you're able too. Give that a try and also try using LGNPST using teenybins. That may help out as well.

I would use tennybin but I'm not sure if I would be able to get into download mode since they said not to reboot because I could possibly get hard bricked. The part that failed contains download mode and if I reboot I could possibly not boot back up or get into download mode.

I actually got it fixed. Problem was I was not properly rooted and so I was not asked superuser permission. Therefore nothing actually really happened

Hi, I too have the same issue as you faced. It didnt ask for superuser permission too. So will i end up hard bricking if i rebooted? BTW my phone is Sprint LG Optimus G LS-970. Wonder why the rooting failed.
EDIT: Device was still unrooted (I thought I did the rooting properly). Thats why Freegee went haywire and threw me hardware brick prone error on rebooting.
