[Q] [Request] Vanilla AOSP Rom - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

Hey everyone, I just wanted to make this quick request.
There are a lot of AOSP based Roms with a host of added features or customizations. Could anyone take the time to whip up a simple vanilla AOSP rom?
I know the google edition is close, but it comes prepackaged with google apps like Chrome, and does not include the stock browser.
Thanks!

Google Edition *is* AOSP. Nuthin' "close" about it. AOSP is Google... so why would you expect it not to come with Google apps?
My suggestion is to go to the HTC One Android Development forum (not the ATT and not the TMO variant forums). Try ti one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2356654
I have not installed it yet, but Mike1986 states that there are no visual changes.

yes, that is correct. Technically. GE is AOSP with a very small percentage of custom. but for all intents and purposes, people refer to AOSP as any rom without a custom UI like sense touchwiz, etc. And they refer to GE in a similar light. The custom Google code in GE still results in a vanilla android os. The differences are so minor to be considered negligible imo.

Default sms skin?

Is there any way that I can "remove" the HTC SMS app skin and have the original Android sms app? The HTC one is pretty laggy...
There's gotta be a way to do this, right?

You can try using sms.apk & mms.apk from an AOSP rom, i'm not quite sure you shouldn't delete the htc app nonetheless.

Pure ICS?

Ive tried out many roms both aokp and aosp as well as stock, but is there a rom out there that is just pure ics? Eg stock minus touchwiz and Samsung apps and nothing else changed?

Try the likes of SlimICS in the Original Android Development section. It, however, has quite a few apps removed, or you could use a stock ICS ROM, install Apex Launcher, and Root Explorer, delete Samsung Apps and the Touchwiz Launcher and keep all your favourites. Simple!

There is actually a rom called "pure ics", Did you even bother searching?
Why would you even want pure ICS when you can have CM9?
Clearer definitions needed.
By "pure ICS" and "stock" do you mean AOSP-like or the stock firmware that came on the handset in the first place?

AOSP like would be ultimate. Just a stock 4.0.3 rom that has had all samsung addons removed. Basically what a Galaxy Nexus has. All of the custom roms I have seen (even the so called Pure ICS rom) have been modified to perform better or adjust battery life, themed etc.
I would just like to try a pure ics as released by Google, I'd that's possible. Thank you.

Thank you. I have also seen that rom and it says in the description that it contains under the hood tweaks ans changes to make aosp better.... lol. Maybe there's no such rom that is just pure aosp

And not to discredit any developers on xda who say they have improved the os, I just feel.... if they know better than Google, why don't they work for Google and make piles of money improving Android?

[ROM][JB] Team EOS 3 *JELLYBEAN* Nightlies - Grouper

Team EOSJB 4.1.1 GrouperNIGHTLIES
Continuing on from the success of the EOS ICS roms, we present to you EOS3, based on JELLYBEAN!
It is the goal of Team EOS to develop and maintain the highest performing and most stable AOSP based rom for an array of platforms. For the latest news on Team EOS releases make sure you follow @teameos on twitter and on IRC on Freenode in #teameos.

NOTE: Team EOS, it’s members, friends, dogs, cats, and associates are in no way responsible for any loss of data or device functionality. Use this at your own risk!
--
A quick note on Nightlies: NIGHTLIES ARE DEVELOPMENT BUILDS. They are automatically generated every now and then, and represent the compilation of the latest commits to the code repository. While every effort is made ensure that the commits that are accepted are stable and do not have a negative impact to the overall performance and function of the builds it is not possible to test every aspect of a commits impact to the overall repo prior to it’s inclusion in a given build. As a result it is entirely possible that instabilities may be introduced as a result of a given days commits. That is the nature of the nightly system, and the risk that is taken using the latest code changes to the project.
EOS is an AOSP based rom. It is developed and maintained by Team EOS and is the culmination of our own in house development efforts.
Team EOS Nightly builds: http://goo-inside.me/devs/teameos/roms/eos3/nightlies/grouper/
G-Apps Package
Because this is an AOSP based rom Google Apps are not included in the base rom. To install Google Apps please flash the following package after installing the base rom:
Temporary Gapps package gapps

Features:
Because these are nightly builds the included features are constantly evolving, we do not provide a change log manually. Instead please see the changes on jenkins for your build.
For the most up to date and comprehensive listing of the changes included in this rom please visit http://review.teameos.org
Kernel:
Kernel Note: This rom is currently using the stock kernel, so you can find the sources from aosp.
--
Installation Notes:
These builds are designed to be installed from your favorite recovery.
Perform a full wipe (read Factory Reset) prior to installing this over ANY ICS or JB based rom.
BUGS!
If you find strange or otherwise unexplained errors please report them here: https://bugs.teameos.org/ Please include logcats and as thorough a description of the issue and what lead up to the issue as possible. With out this we will be unable to track down these errors.

The phone/hybrid UI.
I *may* provide an option to switch between the two down the road a little.
I'm sorry did I miss something regarding Google now. I don't see it in the ROM. Aside from that this is fantastic so far. Very nice.
Edit: nm found the zip

Just one thing noticed, are the toggles supposed to be working? I didn't see anything regarding this..
Anyways thanks for the work put into this.

Good to see Team EOS on the N7 boat
One thing I seem to be having issues with every once in awhile is auto rotate getting stuck. When I come out of an app in landscape it remains stuck and I have to toggle to get it back to default.

This really eases the transition from the Xoom to the N7! Thrilled to see EOS here for sure! Is it necessary to use the gapps pack specified of will any JB pack do?
........Cornerstone.....?
Auto rotation doesn't seem to be working.
Update. The rotation sensor isn't functioning at all. Not working in temple run either. Maybe the driver is missing.
Also thanks for including the aosp browser. It's s much better than chrome. I don't know why Google didn't include it in the stock ROM. Its so much smoother and faster.

I was digging chrome, mainly because of the syncing between phone and computer, but lack of full screen was really pissing me off. I don't like opera or dolphin all that much. The stock browser is perfect. I haven't been able to side load it though.

questions about vanilla android rom

So I'm kinda new to the rom stuff.
I'm currently intersted in vanilla android rom as I really dig the way it looks and how it functions.
Is there a vanilla android rom that supports:
1) fm radio
2) tv out via mhl
3) burst shot option in camera and some other cool camera options
I may sound like a noob haha but I really want to know because I saw that most roms don't support this, or maybe all of the roms don't support it?
Looking forward to your answers
Unfortunately those options are not supported. Those are known issues with CM10 ROMs and AOSP mate

I see.. so your're telling me there is no vanilla rom out there that supports the things I've specified.
hmm is there any other rom (I don't care which type) that supports some of these features?

I'm using InsertCoin and can confirm that radio and camera burst mode works fine. If you're asking about an AOSP ROM then I'm afraid I can't answer.

There are AOSP ROMs that support fm radio, they usually specify in the thread what to download for that, but other than that option the rest isn't supported yet. But you can try any other Samsung based custom rom to get the things you listed

AOSP vs Samsung ROM question.

Are any of the Touchwiz based Roms as fast and snappy as AOSP based ROMs?
I love AOSP speed but missing features keeps me going back to T/Wiz then lag sends me back to AOSP etc etc etc
Thanks
Phil
I was running for some time null rom, AOSP style but based on Samsung

I assume who has more does not matter, it matters for him what he wants and AOSP does not have Samsung's features.

Thanks for the replies, the main problem was not being able to post pics direct to forums I go on. I may have cracked this by using chrome rather than the aosp browser but I thought that with Firefox too and this no longer works.

Cyanogenmod issue need help !!!
i recently installed the Cyanogenmod 10.1 on my GT-I9305 but after the i realized that the old storage is gone "internal storage" so it says that i am using more than 50% from it even it's a clean install meaning the old data are still there and i am not able to see them , so i went to the recovery mode and the old files and date were there and a new folder with name (0) has the new apps and data , so the question here is how can i view the old data storage so i can move them to the new one , or to view them on my computer , i am new in XDA so i couldn't post it on the Cyanogenmod forum . thanks in advance
This is not I9305 forum .
Don't hijack threads with a totally different question
Please read sticky in General section regarding storage o or just search question asked day after day .Please read all the basics before flashing anything .

I actually don't mind the Samsung s planner and the music play. I have tried many alternatives of both, but still haven't found an alternative I like better.
Im all ears if you have any suggestions for alternatives to try

Personally , I am very happy with SlimBean (AOSP) as it delivers speed and gives me all features I want. The only thing I miss is the AllShare app for my AllShare Cast Dongle. Regarding camera, the AOSP 2.6 app gives most of the Samsung TW features, for Samsung S Planner, I use the stock Google Calendar App and for Music I use Poweramp, maybe try them, Poweramp got a free version as well.
