Finding out my Samsung s3 product code - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey there I am running a Sammy S3 GT-I9300 16gb international on omega rom 42 + boeffla kernel, I tried inputing the code for finding out my product code but it doesn't seem to work. I need it since I have to unroot my phone as I am going to sell it.
Thank you in advance for your help.
P.S. Just to make sure phone is running with a custom rom.

Do you mean your original firmware ??/
jje

what is this "product code" you're talking about?

it is in effect the firmware version currently on the phone .
GT-I9300XXALE8
Presume the op wants original firmware but they never made a note of it .
Kies how to recover original firmware thread or something like that may help.
jje

Yes I am searching for my original firmware code. Can the serial number help kies find it. Also is it safe to use kies on a phone with a custom rom.

Kies confirmed my firmware version with sammobile using my s/n. I am ok now. Thanks for the help guys

I used the SN and it showed me the pda, csc and modem info. I already know here my phone was from originally i just needed the last letters to confirm. I mean the bit of info shown on kies covers the one with sammobile. Is it safe to download and install it.

Also my flash counter on the root app by chainfire says 0. I can't manage to see the counter on download mode so should I use the app even though it shows 0 and is my counter really 0.

[Q] Got an branded phone(unasked), how to restore the stock firmware?

Hi,
First of all: Excuse my bad englisch, it's not my native language.
Second: I know i'm a noob But i tried really hard to find an answers to my question but couldn't find one.
My situation:
I live in the Netherlands, and ordered an unbranded phone, but to my surprise, the send me a vodafone branded phone. I could send it back, but it takes them a few weeks to send me the phone back unbranded, so i decided to not do that.
Wat i want to do is to restore my phone to the stock samsung firmware to get rid of the vodafone bullxxxx. I have read this topic and it's understandable. The only thing i don't understand is wich firmware do i need? There is a huge list of firmwares, but i am clueless to wich one is suitable for me.
Is samsung firmware country dependent? Because i live in the netherlands, but my phone is very likely from the uk, because i got an uk like charger with my phone. It looks like this:
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I'm not 100% if my phone is from the uk.
So wich firmware should i flash to get my phone to the stock samsung firmware without the vodafone crap?
btw my current firmware regarding to samsung kies is: PDA:KG2/PHONE:KG1/CSC:KE2(VOD)
Summary(if you don't like reading):
I want to flash my phone with the stock firmware from samsung without any branding, but i can't find the right firmware for my phone, can you help me?
thanks
Any simplest is to look at the latest release from that link and pick one for whatever country you want or use a multi CSC version .

So for example i could flash the firmware below, and i't wouldn't brick my phone and void my warranty?
CEKI2
Firmware info
PDA:CEKI2
PHONE: XXKI1
Date: 19/09/2011
Android 2.3.4
This packages has the old bootloader so you can safely reset the binary counter with a Jig.
If you've already flashed a full package from elsewhere or updated using KIES and cannot reset your binary counter using the Jig just flash this package in the PDA or Bootloader section of Odin to replace the bootloaders and then you can reset the counter: link deleted
XEN (Netherlands): link deleted
CEKI2 Stock Kernel:link deleted

Nobody can help me? Maby it's tl;dr?
You can indeed flash that package, but as with flashing anything there is always the possibility of a brick and it will void the warranty.

Odin FLash hangs at NAND Write Start

FIXED: My own stupid. I also have a SGS2 and was using the wrong image as they a named similarly and reside in the same folder.
Hi all,
I wanted to flash teh stock Firmware to my S3 and Odin hangs at NAND Write Start.
Phone: Galaxy S3 International Version
Carrier: O2 Germany
What I have done before:
1. I was tired of waiting for OTA updates by my Carrier so I went to samfirmware.com and flashed the latest Firmware they had for my Phone (German Open; XXALF6). - No Problems
2. Since I like root, I flashed CF 6.4.
3. I installed TriangleAway and reset the flash counter.
Thats it, no further modifications.
Now, since my CSC actually seems able to deliver OTA updates and I want them, I decided to get the original Firmware from samfirmware for my CSC (XXALE8). But when I try to flash it via Odin, it hangs at "NAND Write Start" without any progress.
When I get bored and simply disconnect the USB cable, this does not hurt the phone, but i want the original Firmware on my phone again.
Any suggestions? I am open for anything but would prefer if it didn't involve wiping/factory resetting the phone.

Firmware region doesnt matter much ..but if you flash a firmware from a different region with different CSC..you might not get updates via KIES..however you can flash any of the firmwares for GT-I9300 and see if it works for you..by the way latest for ICS is LH1 and jellybean is LH6..
yes you are right the firmware that i install its old there are 3 update after him.
now i click check for update its show there is no update .....

the update may not be not pushed to your device due to various reasons incorrect CSC is one of them..just download the firmware from the page you pasted here..put your phone in download mode..connect it to ODin and flash the firmware as PDA..
IMPORTANT-Read how to use ODIN first in the general section.

Download this: http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/i9305T/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-i9305T.tar . Open Odin, connect the p[hone in "Download mode" , click Pd, and choose this file. then click start. because you have no OS, I think it will boot straight to TWRP. If not, open yourself by holding Volume UP+Power+Home at the same time. And about the arrier, I don't think it will be a problem. Just in case your phone brakesa nd you want to take to a service, it may detect that you changed the software(Even if it is an original one from SamMobile). But this cases are very rare. Except that, you will be able to use your phone normally just as you did until now !
You have I9305T ???
This is I9300 forum not for your phone please do not flash I9300 firmware .
There are two non Telstra roms listed on sammobile for GT-I9305T

Can't connect to my Network Carrier

Hello! I badly NEEDED your help guys!
My Device is Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300.
I have installed a new firmware, its android version is 4.3 and an open line version for Philippines.
But it can't make and can't receive call and sms. (I have tested all the 4.3 version that is open line from sammobile.com, but it didn't work to my carrier)
The only solution I think is to flash a new modem, or to bring it back to its default stockrom which is 4.1.2(this device is bought from Israel, but it works to our carriers in the Philippines.)
The picture below is the screenshot of my device before.

@jphilip04: is IMEI, showed in settings, the same as shown on the label under battery?
@rp158, yes sir, they were the same. What should I do now? Please.
@jphilip04: go back to your last firmware with working net access (with Odin). If everythings works fine there, let it update to 4.3 by KIES. If you still have net access, try to install your Phillipines-firmware.

@rp158, The problem is, I can't find the default firmware from sammobile.com. Because my device was bought from Israel. I tried to search it on google, but theres' no link that can direct me to download the exact firmware with the exact modem version.
But before I did anything on my device, I also did a nandroid backup to my default firmware thru TWRP recovery .
@jphilip04: I find on sammobile.com Israel-EMC2-build. So what?

@rp158 And what about the baseband version? Is it I9300JKEMC1 too? because I can't find the firmware with the same BASEBAND VERSION: I9300JKEMC1 on sammobile.
@jphilip04: not important. If you loose IMEI with old firmware, do nothing with OTA or KIES but flash immediatly the actual Israel-firmware with Odin.
