semi brick, boot loader issue - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

So last night I tried to install clockwork mod after rooting... Apparently I hadn't installed the custom boot loader. After clockwork mod installs I tell it to backup because I wanted to try the Jedi rom... I get the non-verizon software error telling me to take my phone to Verizon. That's not an option as I got it used and it was rooted. So while trying to flash it to stock I get an error every time upon updating sboot.img, trying to install the stock bootloader same issue, modded boot loader same issue. At one point I simply re-partitioned it and it managed to boot but touch wasn't working (obviously it didn't finish installing) and I was getting sd card corrupted message. Sounds like a format may be in order? After rebooting and telling odin to wipe the nand and then I get the kies message... I'm downloading kies now but I have to go to work. Any advice?

yes read the stickies... Research then flash, not the other way around.

Please Help ME... Brick or something!!!

Things went from bad to worst, I fixed my market update and had the utlities on the device i needed to i tryed flashing the Neutrino Rom.
After it was done it rebooted and said "failed to boot 2 starting rsd".
So I downloaded RSD Lite and found the unlock SBF which I applied. Now I can get into the FastBoot menu's and go to Android Recovery and try to do the back to stock option, it says it completes then reboots...
Then it just sits and sits and sits on the motorola Dual core logo.
Can someone please help me here. I cant seem to find any of my backups i made with system recovery or rom manager. I also didnt load RomRacers Recovery (which i just now noticed)
Any help is greatly appreciated.
So, did you unlock the bootloader before trying to flash the ROM?
Does it say "Unlocked" at the boot logo now?
Get back into fastboot and flash romracer's recovery and then try to mount the storage and get another rom on there.

i unlocked the bootloader after the update failed (i panicked) and yes it does say unlocked at the top now
Well, you mentioned you can get into fastboot so that's a start. You can try to flash a proper recovery and try to boot into recovery and see if you can mount the storage, or if you have a card reader you can just put a ROM on your sd card and then flash. If you can't get into recovery but you can get into fastboot you can flash a rom that way. You'll have to search for the procedure but I'm almost certain it can be done. If all else fails, you can install the unlocked "Full" SBF through RSD Lite, but it is not really recommended but should work.

Thanks so much. I got radracers on there and reflashed the neutrino rom again. Everything appears to be working. Now to just figure out the rest.
Thanks again.
Look tke the sd card and load the rom and google apps. Then go and fastboot wipe and re install the rom and try to boot honestly it just sounds like you got a corrupted rom

[q] *******help me please*******

Ok so i had ICS passion installed then one day the rom gave me an error telling me encryption unsuccessful. So i followed the instructions to fix it, by putting the partition on the micro sd card (8gb). I then decided to flash back to stock gingerbread with odin. I thought that if I put a galaxy s international rom on the US vibrant it would work, but i was wrong so dont try that. I was stuck on a bootloop and was able to get to download mode. Then i used Odin to flash JFD for vibrant it said i passed but when i booted it did the same. Now im on KB5 and it gave me android system recovery <3e> but i have an error dev/block/mmcblk0p1.
I cannot go to menu, i can access download mode and android system recovery, i also tried to install update zip but it gave me the signature fail.
Please help me back to stock firmware or any stable version. Thank You
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278683 follow the instructions in the thread and remember to flash the bootloaders
You should just Odin back to JFD and go from there. Flashing bootloaders is dangerous, shouldn't be done lightly, but can be done with caution if needed, usually isn't.
try the 1click root method. see if that helps.

Galaxy Note Stuck on Firmware upgrade encountered ...

I have a Galaxy Note that was on Telus in Canada. I attempted to follow these instructions to install Cyanogenmod: wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_quincyatt. Had alot of problems working with Windoz 8 - but eventually **seemed** to get the CWM installed. However, when I did the reboot to recovery mode, I got 'Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.' I can't seem to do anything to get past this. I'm pretty much a beginner with modding my phone, so before I do anything else stupid, I'm asking for help. What can I do to either a) get back to my original install or b) try again with Cyanogenmod?
Thanks!

I had the same thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago. Picked the wrong package to flash and got the same error message. I had to boot into download mode and then load the stock ROM via Odin, then root.
That fixed it for me and now I'm flashing custom ROMS again (and carefully reading the name of the ROM I'm flashing before hand lol).
First, to install CWR on a Canadian phone you have to pull the battery from the phone and disconnect the usb cable the instant Odin says flash was successful, otherwise the phone reboots and overwrites the custom recovery with the stock recovery. Then put the battery back in the phone and boot into recovery. Then format, wipe, and flash the rom.

[Q] I9100T Odin flash OK, Download and recovery OK, stuck at logo!

Hi folks, mid last week I woke up to a non responsive Galaxy S2. It's been happily running stock Vodafone ICS for over a year, and somehow spontaneously went soft brick on me. Gets stuck at logo screen or goes into boot loop.
Download mode is accessible. I can flash through Odin (1.85 and 3.09) and it reports success. I have successfully put CWM (various versions) on it can can boot into them fine.
Recovery mode is also accessible and appears to be working fine. I can access external SD card no problem.
Attempting to flash through zip from external SD aborts with Mode 7, reporting bad zip or unable to read source file. I have tried removing asserts from install script (educated myself to the risks and made sure the ROM was correct!!) and multiple versions of CM (10.1.3 stable, 10.2 nightly) and multiple versions of CWM recovery (6.0.2.9 is what I've been using mostly, as recommended by CM guide)
Tried running GS2ROMNukeV2.12.zip which reported successful wipe, then attempted zip install from SD with same result (aborted mode 7). Repeated wipe and attempted stock (I9100TDVLSK_I9100THUTLSD_I9100TDVLS3_HOME.tar) from flash through Odin. Reported success, phone booted into recover and applied KOR CSC successfully, then reboot and still stuck at logo screen/boot loop.
I have attempted the fix in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1449771 as best I could wish the resources I could find, but it's hard to follow to the letter with the links broken!!!
I have not tried repartition with PIT as I'm not sure where to get an appropriate PIT file. Advice on this appreciated!
I want to make this clear because people seem to not want to believe it: I did not soft brick my phone flashing it. My best theory at this point is some kind of memory corruption or hardware failure that's causing a boot loop. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. This week I will probably take it in to a repair shop and hope for the best, but tomorrow is a public holiday and I've got nothing to lose by trying any more suggestions.

If memory serves me right this is due to an old version of Recovery, i had the same thing, updated recovery and it flashed zip fine. just as you know. :fingers-crossed:

[Q] How to flash stock recovery

I was messing around with my phone and flashed the wrong recovery file for it. Now every time I try to boot the phone into recovery, I get a message saying that it is an unapproved program and I need to bring it into the Verizon store to correct the problem. I guess this is what is called a "soft brick". To fix it, I just boot into download mode and then cancel. The phone boots up normally after this. My question is, how do I go about flashing the samsung stock recovery so that I won't keep getting this error? Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Build number is NG6
You'll need to install Safestrap. Our phones can't run custom recoveries unless you have the mdk bootloader
