Hi all:
I think I´ve definitely broken my brand new HTC One. The problem is that the phone is stuck in the initial animation (white screen with the HTC One logo. This screen) and I cannot do anything. I tell you the story.
I rooted the phone with this tutorial http://htconeroot.com/htc-one-root/how-to-root-htc-one-windowsmaclinux/
At first, everything seems to go fine, but the SuperUser app started to fail and ask for updates. I installed RomManager and I changed to CWM Recovery instead of the TWRP recovery installed while rooting. I unistalled Super SU and installed the Google Play version and everything was fine again.
Today I tried this mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251788 to remove the 3 dot menu and I flashed the file bkbtnmenu.zip with CWM. I flashed the file, I did a wipe cache and a wipe dalvik and when I tried to reboot, the HTC got stuck in the animation screen.
I cannot switch it off, neither entering in recovery or anything else. When I try to restart or enter in recovery it simply restarts to the same screen and cannot do anything but waiting for the device to empty the battery.
I´ve made something terribly wrong. Hope some of you guys can help me. Every little help will be appreciated. Absolutely desperated
For future reference I'd say not to use anything from zedomax because someone always has issues with his tutorials. Anyway, you said you're not able to boot into hboot?

Some progress
First of all, thanks for the advice.
After reading your reply I´ve tried again and now I´m able to start the phone in recovery mode. Sorry but cannot post images. I already can go into the HBoot screen.
But don´t know how to continue.
If you're able to boot into recovery try to factory reset, you'll lose all your apps and settings but that should work

No progress
I´ve done the factory reset, but after rebooting I´m still stuck in the boot animation screen.
Absolutely no idea of what I can do.
Try downloading an ruu if you just want full stock, otherwise try pushing a rom to the sd card and flashing it that should get you back up and running

I´m a bit newbie in this kind of things. Before the crash, I had Android 4.2.2 and even though I´m Spanish, I live in Singapore and I´ve bought my HTC here.
I´ve noticed that there are a lot of RUU and no idea of which to choose. I don´t have any problem in pushing a new rom, but how can I push it to the SD card? Please can you send me a link or two? I´ve found a lot of info in the forum but I´m a bit overwhelmed because most of the posts are for people with more experience than me and don´t know which one I have to choose.

Go to this thread, there you will find your resolution.
Sorry for bothering you again but it doesn´t work.
I followed the steps of the video. My HBoot screen now shows that it´s RELOCKED instead of UNLOCKED
I started the RUU file and it showed me that currently I have a 2.x.x.x. ROM and I´ll change to a 1.x.x.x. ROM. I clicked next and the software got stuck sending. After a few minutes, I received this message
ERROR[130]: MODEL ID ERROR
The ROM Update Utility cannot update your Android phone.
Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again.
Maybe It´s something related to the drivers?

Do you have a cwm backup to go back to? Or you can try downloading one of the return to stock packages for your phone and flashing that through Odin.

Hi, I have tried to use one of the RUU return to stock packages, if that's what you mean!, but it gets so far and I get an error saying my battery is at -30% and the program will not continue, I have just downloaded "Odin" but it doesn't seem to be compatable..

If you really updated it officially from the PC software "like kies for samsungs" you should try calling the company but dont tell them you rooted it and ask them to repair it or a refund since its their fault they bricked your phone.

You would need to go through a fairly complicated method to do that and it can hard brick your phone, just wait for someone to post a flashable.zip of the update and flash via cwm
Fyi never do a OTA update on a s-off device, or either won't work or do what your experiencing

Hi everyone. New to the forum and new to flashing etc. I have been playing with my phone for a couple of nights now but finally gave in and think I need to ask for help.
Here is a bit of background info so far. The last few weeks my One X+ has been suffering from getting stuck coming out of airplane mode. I am currently using an old Desire HD so thought I have nothing to lose by trying to fix the +.
I have managed so far to unlock the bootloader and root the phone. I have flashed TWRP and created a backup.
I have tried to load Android Revolution 8 which complete successfully along with the boot image but when the phone starts I get the HTC splash screen (quietly Brilliant & One X Beats Audio) but it then goes to just HTC then the phone turns itself off.
Have tried a couple of time but end up having to flash my recovery to revert back to how it was.
I feel I may be missing something and would appreciate it if someone could help me out.
Many Thanks :good:

Have you tried doing a full wipe before or during flashing ARHD? Can you still get into the bootloader or recovery? I had similar problem, changed the cable then flashed the boot image again.

I have done a wipe yes. I have been picking my way through these guides which all have small differences.

Yes I can still access the bootloader and TWRP recovery. The phone is currently restored back to how it was originally.
Are you flashing the boot image before or after you install the rom? With the ARHD he recommends flashing his firmware.zip before flashing the rom.
But from what I remember when my phone was stuck on the splash screen I went back into the bootloader, used another cable and flashed the firmware.zip again, restarted it and it was fine.
Info when I'm in bootloader is:

MICROP- None
RADIO- None
(Don't know why it says "none" next to radio, network etc is fine, Vodafone UK)

I have tried both ways. Flashing the boot image before and after the installing the ROM and both ways reproduce the same effect.
I have read the page where it mentions loading the firmware but as I have just set out about learning the in's and out's of loading ROMS I wasn't sure what this was. I now understand what the boot image is and what the ROM is but take it the firmware is something different. Should loading the firmware be the first step before falshing the boot image and ROM?
I have been over to his download page with the two 401 firmwares which I believe are the ones I require. The only issue I have is, it seems these are earlier versions so wasn't sure they would be correct to use. I cannot check currently as I'm at work but I think I am running firmware version 2.18.401.3.
So which one should I load?

Hello, so basically today after owning my HTC Amaze for an year i decided to root it and install a ROM and it got stuck. I AM REALLY SCARED. MY PARENTS WILL KILL ME IF THEY FIND OUT PLEASE HEELPPP. The HTC logo appears for 5 secs then black screen for another 5
I used this thread to root my htc amaze :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426377
i followed all the steps EXACTLY as said till the point where it says "From here you can flash your custom rom or root files." in step #4 and all was going well. At that point i wanted a custom rom
after this i tried using the energy rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362759
i downloaded the file given here as Amaze.Stock.Kernel.Flasher.zip , unzipped this file and ran the file flash.bat with my phone connected through USB . After this my phone rebooted and got stuck in a boot loop, so i thought that i should continue and was hoping that maybe it gets fixed. The version given in his thread is of ICS, since i had GB i searched the thread and got a link to a file named "energy.3.10.2012.stock.kernel.amaze.zip" the GB version of this rom. So i downloaded it, went into recovery and installed this from my external SD card. The boot loop problem still persisted. So then i tried the FACTORY RESET in the HBOOT options and still there was no luck
I tried searching the threads and went through some terms like flashing RUU and relocking my bootloader. I DO NOT know what any of these are... so i don't want to create anymore problems for myself
I own the unbranded asian version, i think.
This is what it says in my HBOOT

Hi,
I have a HTC ONE M7 purchased from T-Mobile. I rooted it and have CyanogenMod installed in it. Recently, I switched to different carrier. Now, my phone rejects foreign sim card and asks for Network SIM card lock. The unlock code provided by T-Mobile doesn't work due to rooting the phone.
I want to go back to T-Mobile Android stock ROM and try the unlock code. What's the process for it? Here are some details from bootloader screen:

I don't understand why you are posting on this thread. It has nothing to do with what you need. There's tons of info on how to restore your phone in the forum for your phone. It is specific to the carrier or region that you got the phone from as well. Basic guideline is that if you just want to return to stock unrooted then you will have to relock the bootloader and flash a RUU (Rom Update Utility) that corresponds to the specific variant of the M7 you have and must be the same update or newer. If you aren't sure, then just pick the newest one. If you want to use custom roms, then you will have to download one that will work for your variant, use adb to push the file from your PC to the phone, then use TWRP to install. Since you are S-On, you will need to use fastboot to flash the boot.img from the rom zip you downloaded.
Sorry
I was posting on here because i thought this was where i get help sorry if it is wrong place but i am not wanting to know how to simply reset the phone i know how to do that i am trying to figure out why it says no os installed and when i do any type of restore it goes too th twrp menu comes up and my friend said was working fine b4 son hard reset it so if you can tell right place to get help i will go there and not bother anyone here again and also it says i am S-off so that isn't problem
Hi, this is my first post in this amazing community. I have to admit that the solely purpose of this post is because im desperate since i think i screwed my phone. I was going step by step as this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2550559 to gain S-OFF. This is what i acheived:
1. Unlocked bootloader through htcdev.com
2. Installed TWRP
When flashed the boot.img from insecure kernel, the phone wont boot to OS, gets stuck at HTC One logo, tried to run "rumrunner" but was unsuccesful since phone was not rebooting by itself, good thing i made a NAND backup so i was able to restore my phone.
Then by mistake i was wiping the whole phone from recovery and didnt have a copy of my NAND on my computer, so.... i was trying to install a stock ROM, i tried all these so far
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2561668
These Stock_Sprint_3.02.651.5_Odex and Stock_Sprint_3.02.651.5 were the most successful ones but when booting for the first time after flashing both, when OS came in, it said:
Android is updating
1 of 350 (cant remember the exact amount)
Phone rebooted before completing the update, when back on, the update resumes and the phone does the same thing at least 3 times before completely updated.
No initial setup, just the home screen. When unlocking screen, HTC logo appears with white background and after a while reboots.
Please, any help, any hint, anything to get this phone working back will be appreciated. Thank you so mush in advance guys!!!
BTW, i really like this community so far.

Yes, flashed the same rom and different roms several times. What i only got is the Kids mode but the phone goes off after a couple of seconds
@LoneSephir - you are S-on, so you need to push the boot.img via adb after flashing the ROM.

Did you read the part on the original post that said :
"When flashed the boot.img from insecure kernel, the phone wont boot to OS, gets stuck at HTC One logo, tried to run "rumrunner" but was unsuccesful since phone was not rebooting by itself, good thing i made a NAND backup so i was able to restore my phone."
Thats one of the reasons why the phone is not S-OFF yet and therefor the reason why i reached the point to mess up the OS...
