I have the tmobile lg p769 unlocked bootloader with p760 uboot and cwm touch 6.0.3.1.
Ive been on wind mobile 21b with built in move apps to sd. I flashed the cwm backup and changed the telephony.xml and apn.conf.xml from tmobiles v20 f. and manually set my tmobile apns. Full service with tmobile data and texts, sms even the other tweaks for l9 work on it.
U have the option to move apps to sd built in. U still need to use the swap sdcard script otherwise everything will be stored on the internal sd.
Ive read. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2370835 that u can unlock bootloader on 20f now but i believe u can do it on wind mobile 21b if u can do it on 20f. And if not then u can just use the wind mobile 21b with your locked bootloader.
Just some info i got some more but theres so much out there. Also just to see how many people noticed a different baseband from v20d to v20f. If only i could get that radio without the tmobile stuff.
Oh the wind mobile rom has that disable tmobile app script built in. And v20f and v21b have the same build number as the metro pcs version. Now thats weird

Just download Lelus update and extract the radio files. Replace the files inside the radio.zip with those and bam! 20f baseband
Note: updating the radio will take awhile.

Is this radio from V20F (1305)? When I flashed this zip, the base band still shows up as 1230 which came with V21B for Wind.

I think it shows whatever version is set in build.prop
The radio.zip is old, I didn't get around to replacing the files. Inside Lelus thread

Is the updated radio files. If you extract those files (from p769_oda_d_to_f_update.zip) and replace the radio files inside the radio.zip, you will have a flashable 20f radio. Sorry if you thought that was the 20f radio files

It does because i just checked hidden menu. Version info
And mine shows i have the 1232. Im gonna try to update with a update zip and report back. Im on the wind version 21b. And build prop shows 1230 radio. Gonna try 1305.
Ok so i tried to flash 1305 and checked hidden menu and it shows no change
If you want to be sure it at least did something different, lol. Check the md5 of all extracted radio files. Check and see if they match

Now we have Unlocked L9 (P760 and P765), is there any method we can flash only Baseband? SmartFlash Tool is not working because it does not recognize phone while flashing. It seems model.dll file only recognizes P990 (O2x) and not P760 or P765.
I tried replacing the DLL file with P765.dll found while extracting KDZ but its not working.
I am told long time back that Fastboot can flash Baseband separately but I dont know the syntax to flash Baseband FLS files of LG.
Can anyone pay attention to this problem. If anyone here knows more about fastboot, then it will be possible to flash baseband and also the ROM image.
Anyone?

You need to flash kdz to change baseband. Use LG tool or offline flash method. Install ROM don't change your baseband and for what I know, you cannot flash baseband with fastboot because you cannot find radio file for your phone (.fls don't work with fastboot).

Well not really... I used that tool sooo many times already for my old Optimus Black, that I didnt need that guide. Try different versions of SFT (the one for the OB, the one for the 3D and I think I got another one made by xonar_, but I need to look for it...) and it should work with no problem. But just flash the fls file. I also dont remember in which box I put it, since it shouldnt make any difference. Just go ahead and try it

I finally managed to update my p760 baseband using SFT.
Thing is procedure went fine, it showed download complete and my phone rebooted but baseband version didn't change. I'm on v20h (installed through flashable zip) and it shows me 01.1230.0 same as before although I extracted baseband files from v20h kdz. Besides procedure didn't wipe the phone as I think it should.
Any clue?

SFT doesnt wipe your phone. So it all should be fine. Which version of SFT did you use? A link maybe? Try to flash an ICS baseband and check if anything changes.

@Nathan.7118391 Then why do you write over again, that you tried to flash CP and AP files? I explicitly said a few times only flash the .fls nothing else. I followed your thread. I am not really sure, if it really flashes the complete baseband. xonar_ once had a closer look at the process and it seemed to be rather complicated. that's why I doubt, that it flashes the same, as a kdz flashes. That's it for now, I ll not respond to posts here anymore...
If you are rooted in V10G with Tmobile P769, then you can bypass OTA and go straight to rooted V20D JB with CWM already installed.
Here is a copy of rooted CWM back up of P769 V20D
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40775018&postcount=772
The latest lock boot loader CWM (v1.5) for JB is here.

The radio update zip file is here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40844363&postcount=37
1) First delete the version 1.4 CWM
>>> 1. Delete /system/bootstrap directory
>>> 2. Delete /system/bin/e2fsck file
>>> 3. Rename /system/bin/e2fsck.bin file to e2fsck
2) Download and install version 1.5 CWM
3) If you have Titanium Back up, make a fresh back up.
4) Download and copy V20D back up folder to clockworkmod back up folder.
4.5) Download and copy radio.zip to SD.
5) Reset and go into CWM.
6) set the back up format to 'tar'
7) run Back up to external SD. This will give you a latest back up of you V10G.
8) run Restore from external SD and find the V20 back up folder.
8.5) run Install Zip from SD for the radio.zip file. NOTE this update takes 2-3 min. Do not panic.
9) When the opration is finished, reboot.
You should be in a fresh rooted V20D JB. Now download Titanium Back up and restore your apps.
Please thank the file contributors in their posts for their effort.

Just like everyone else has stated although, While in SuperSU the first re-installation failed, but you just go back into the app and install it again and it successfully installs the su binaries
I find it hilarious and awesome that I haven't had to re root the phone since I got it in February and rooted with 10e (when the method was easy). I used Voodoo for 10G and now with 20D

Well, I was going to write and tell people I can't get the OTA update and also seem to be unable to reinstall the stock apps so it will pick up the OTA update (rooted with 10g from another user), but....NEVER MIND! Will try this method and see if it works.
One question - in the instructions it says delete 1.4. Ok, from the link page I get that, but curious....wouldn't installing 1.5 just erase and overwrite 1.4 anyway? Why the need to delete it, other than just having a clean install? Doesn't matter to me really, just curious.

Im pretty sure installing 1.5 over 1.4 is totally fine(I did). Never hurts to be too safe though.
1) You may be able to just install V1.5 on top of V1.4. I don't know. It's just two deletes and one rename to get rid of V1.4.
2) If you are getting MD5 mismatch, make sure you do not rename the file directory. Try downloading again and you can also check using an external MD5 checker app.

Yes, the radio seems fine. It looks like the 4 radio fls files were patched during the update. Actually, the signal level has improved around -5 dB. Just make sure you turn off the wi-fi calling option from the set up.
If you leave the option on, it will keep on try to turn off the radio.
P.S. - Anyone know how to get rid of Quick slide apps on the notification area?
So are we saying this CWM zip does not flash the radios?
It would be good to flash the new radios. It may help with cell reception.
More bars does not mean better reception if you have not flashed the radios. It just means that the new software is not reading what it is expecting from radio.
Will this work for rooted 10e as well?

Ok so a spark bursted in my head at 2 in the morning of an idea and it has worked so im noticed that alot of people struggle to unlock the bootloader but not because the steps are hard but there is one missing part i have found which is it needs to have a signal connection to you provider for it to work and the thing is when you flash V20B the radio is different so it sometimes might get the signal but that is like what 1/100 or something like that haha ok back on track my idea was what if i install the radio for the P769 which was extracted for the workaround that we had for the JB manual install via CWM on V20B and we would a working radio so the bootloader would unlock on first try and i tried it and it worked muahahaha ok so what to do
Well before you go flash V20B to make everything easier make sure this app is already installed on your phone
Artas Bootstrap Recovery Installer and make sure you have the radio zip on your sd card
Then make sure you have debuging on and show touches on also so everything is easier
Now flashing set up first go download the JB guide its in the root l9 offline method and download the bin for V20B ok so now flashing run the rootl9 bat file but for JB then start the flashing process and were going to swap the bin then after swapping let it do its thing
ok after it finishes go to supersu install the binary and after that go to artas bootstrap recovery and install it then boot to the recovery after in recovery flash the radio zip and let it install it takes a while maybe a min to 2 minutes and after it installed reboot and then you should see you have signal hoorah , now just let it sit for 30-40 minutes then after the time is up run the command "adb reboot oem-unlock" from your computer and it should take you to the acept to unlock it and just press volume up and tada you have unlocked bootloader on first try
Sorry For No Links but in a Hurrry Good luck

It didn't work on my P768 even if I have signal from my provider, I even checked the H+ on my phone before trying to unlock it, it just reboots normally.

Then it must be a tmobile sim mmmm.....
Ok, I hate being hand held, but I have a question. Fm my understanding these are the steps I should be doing to unlock BL and Rooting the Sweet LG L9 P769 below:
1. First flash the V20B_00.KDZ Process.
2. Next Unlock the BL
3. Then Root the device Process.
4. Install recovery cwm, and the RC5.
Please let me know it this is correct, and add anything that i should lookout for.
When I start this process I'll make sure to take Note to write a first grader process.
I love this device for the price i pay for it, and i love a challenge.
My future device will be a LG optimus G Pro, but until then I need to get the LG L9 P769 hacked.

Hi! Well, I'm trying to "revive" this L9-P769, it wont recognise any SIM, its unlocked, I went into the menu to put the unlock code and everything says "Phone not personalized", I've even installed a T-Mobile kdz, nothing, just won't recognise any SIM, I did a hard reset too. Any help is appreciated.
More info:
1.-The phone just says "No SIM card".
2.-In the " Network" section of "About phone" says "Searching for service", signal strength "0 dBm 0 asu" and mobile network type "Unknown".
3.-The phone "has" signal bars.
3.-Baseband is: "L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1305.00".
EDIT: I've just noticed the phone has 4 pins for the SIM, instead of the 3 the other ones here have, that's kinda weird (I would post a Photo with a comparison but I can't post images yet, but I hope you guys understand that)
See my post in UltraROM thread. As a last resort, try the emergency recovery option in the LG Tool, which will install the latest stock ROM.
When you say unlocked, do you mean BL, or NAM?

Radio/SIM works fine on p769 ROMs. I need proper radio firmware blobs for a p760 ROM, though. Also, I don't know if V20C can be unlocked.

I'm confused. Your OP says SIM not recognized, and now you say it works fine on p769 ROMs. Details...
There's a KDZ extract tool floating around, extract any needed BINs directly.
I'm unsure if V20C can be unlocked, never tried. I'll see what I can do about finding a download link for V20B.

Under a p769 ROM, everything works
Under a p760 ROM, I have no SIM.
I flashed the Radio.zip provided in the unlock thread, and it did nothing.
So if you now put a 769 ROM on it, the SIM card is once again recognized?

NAM, already tried flashing with LG Tool, I'll just give up, I can't find anything and that means its possibly a hardware problem.
so i've tried everything to unlock this v10 and so far no go.I need an unlocked phone modem to compare to a locked one and see exactly causing the lock or if i can just flash an unlocked and it will work?
Also can't flash modem of any other variant or else you will be bricked for good.
so i tried flashing system and boot partitions of a lot of different variants to try and get unlock prompt to pop up.
H900(at&t) no boot
H900PR(brazil ver) same thing as at&t no boot at all
H960TR(turkey) hangs on boot animation
H960 (vietnamese ver) same thing as with 960tr hangs boot animation
F600k(boots perfectly, but no sim unlock menu)
F600L(again boots perfectly but no sim unlock menu)
Starting to notice anything? similar model names have similar behaviors ex. h900 and h900pr show exact same boot fault
So, the only possible way is the modem!
can someone with a unlocked t mobile modem please upload theirs. i'm going to flash the unlocked modem and use the f600k system so no tmobile bull**** can lock it again.I really think this could work as long as no stock tmobile rom is installed.I would really really appreciate it as im stuck with this phone rn.
ALSO , here is how to easily get modem partition if you have root.Download "partitions backup and restore" in playstore by wanam
check firmwire/modem in green and backup and that's it! tested myself and works.
So please if you have a unlocked tmobile v10 and are rooted it would very helpful if you could take a few mins to backup modem and upload it.
ok as an incentive im adding a 10$ bounty through paypal.i need the following 5 modem partitions backup using flashfire.
Modem firmware aka modem
Modem firmware data #1 aka modemst1
Modem firmware data #2 aka modem st2
Modem firmware FSG aka fsg
Modem firmware SSD asa ssd
Download flashfire by chainfire from playstore and backup the above partitions and upload them.i've backed up these partitions my self on my v10 so yes it works.I only put a bounty because this device barely has any dev half of these v10 are dead lol also im patient from trying to unlock this thing ffs.First one with the CORRECT partitions i will reach out via pm.
Quick 10$ takes no more than 10 min!!
Backing it up right now as I type this. Whats the best way for me to upload this for you?
EDIT: here is the link, backed up via Flashfire and then zipped up, no password. My phone is currently running stock rooted Eliminator ROM (software version H90120L) https://www.dropbox.com/s/a3l518nse4vkj4q/LGv10Modem.zip?dl=0

The device is bootloader unlocked, I have the T-Mobile version of the device. Will try again for you. You don't need the other zipped file?
No need for the PayPal. I'm glad to help out when I can

Not sure if I did that or not. The phone is paid off so I would assume I can put it on another network. I've moved on to the newer model v20.
Question, why would the modem firmware change whether it's unlocked or not? Wouldn't that be done via firmware update?
Sent from my LG V20 using XDA Labs
Nope.tmobile has locked these down using the device unlock app.if you never used it on another network other than tmo then its most likely not network unlocked.even if its paid off, you have to contact tmo to request a permanent unlock.once they give you the green light for the unlock then you just use the device unlock app that comes on the tmo phone and hit permanent unlock. modem files hold the unlock info in this case.as i said above ive tried roms from even the international variant only to be greeted by the network locked notification.im sure theres at least one person with a network unlocked tmo v10 lurking around these fourms lol.again i appreciate you taking your time to help!
I will look into getting it unlocked. No big deal for me to do so since i don't use the phone anymore

Here you go my friend, V3 is device unlocked. Used the T-Mobile app Device Unlock. Went through the process. Phone rebooted and a toast notification popped up saying phone permanently unlocked. I suppose you can compare both V2 and V3 to see what changed?

Well, i just gave up.i tried everything, this phone is just locked down tight. The phone would not flash the modem.bin at all through fastboot or flashfire since it is a locked partition.I managed to flash the modem firmwire 1 and 2 since they are not locked partitions through flashfire.Phone still not unlocked, so i tried flashing http://lgviet.com/forum/threads/rom-radeonmaya-t-mobile-h901-v4-0-update-19-11-2016.58894/ rom and it has a working sim unlock menu but it says phone cannot be unlocked or something.so i flashed the modem firmwires again and run the sim unlock app and it prompts me for a code! I had my unlock code from ebay and entered it and it said network unlock successful and the phone rebooted itself. But after rebooting it still showed network locked.i think it needs to be on stock rom.i tried porting the sim unlock menu to stock but it doesnt even open.i just gave up on this phone, i just use it like an ipod lol.we have unlocked modem files though i cant find a way to flash it.it just might be what we need.flashfire wont flash protected partitions (modem is protected) and also fastboot keeps through an error when trying to flash anything.the only way to flash the unlocked modem bin is with LGUP.ive managed to extract stock kdz and replace the modem.bin with the unlocked one but i dont know how to convert it back to a kdz or tot so we can flash the modified kdz.also maybe 7.0 has some modem changes? Or i might just try flash modem of korean variant though i would be just testing my luck as it will result 99% a hard brick. 4 ways to do possibly unlock this
Port sim unlock menu to stock rom 99% chance your phone will unlock
Flash modified modem.bin somehow through lgup or lg flashtool.good chance this will work as well
Wait and see if you can expliot something in nougat .if were lucky this might have something.
Sending AP commands through Modem.i tried this myself.it seems you can only communicate with modem with the korean or tizen rom.you can send the command AP%ULCW.
UlCW=unlock code write.so you can write the unlock code through direct comm with modem via usb but i dont know the correct format to enter the code as it keeps throwing an error.
Still thanks to @amoot329 for coming in clutch with the files.when nougat comes out i'll try messing with it again but honestly this phone is useless lol.
