you have to try for yourself, no one knows what is best for you as anyone is using the phone differently.
I would start with Samsung based roms (in my experience on average better battery life then aosp/aokp) and Siyah or Googy Max. Modems, just try them and see. Above of course only based on my usage, hence as said, it might be totally different for you. That's why, try yourself

i will check checkrom and franco kernel again xD..
Best rom/kernel threads are not allowed on XDA, as this is a very subjective topic, and often gives way to mindless arguments.

Which one tends to be better? Usually for HTC phones I find the aosp roms to trump the sense roms, but on my old Samsung Vibrant the aosp roms ALL had horrendous battery life!
Please lemme know your personal findings!
Thanks

I tried kj3 and cm7 #116 with siyah kernel on both and battery was the identical, cm7 felt smoother though. But some guys are able to squeeze 2 days of battery use while i can only do 1 day, so it also depends what apps you have running and how much you use the phone.

The same battery life? Interesting. In that case I'll probably choose Samsung roms for all the extra features and codec compatibilities.
Please! More opinions and thoughts!

Yup identical, i remember seeing people posting these great 2day battery life shots and they were all on samsung roms so i decided to give it a try. After i loaded the samsung rom and all of my apps/widgets from my cm7 rom the battery life was identical at the end of the day. I do miss that codec compatibility but mx video player takes care of that with ease.

Thanks man! All other opinions are appreciated too!

As long as my display has consumed 70-75% at the end of my day (when my battery went from 100% to 20%) I don't bother looking at ways to eliminate the "drain" that some users have. Most, if not all, of the drain is installed on the outside of the screen.
Sure, when I put it in airplane modus inside a vault it lasts more than 5 days. Yay I must be a super tweaker.
i get about 17 hours with about 5.30 hours of display on samsung based ROM but then again it all depends on what you use your cell for
Thanks for all the input keep em coming!

Any screen on times for aosp? Thx!
Which one is better with battery life, Performance and General Stability? Also, Which kernel gives Best Battery life and stability for the better Rom?
iOS.
In other words, you will not get the same performance, battery life or have the same experience with a given rom or kernel compared to someone else with the same rom or kernel. Your phone is setup differently, you use your phone differently & your phone came out of the factory differently to everyone else's.
Sooo...Try them both out & see how they work for you.

I tryied checkrom and has good battery life (even better if you make UV), actually i'm testing hyperdroid 6 and is a good option too.
Try them both and test them out.

Hi there
i have my galaxy for a few wekks now and i find battery on CM9 RC2 pretty bad (underclocked and undervolted)
which rom is recommended for good battery life (and works with siyah kernel)
GPS/WIFI/MOBILE DATA/CAMERA must be working !!
thanks for your suggestions
I was using xwlpo stock, only rooted. Undervolted -25 and set cpu to 800 mhz. The governor was ondemand. The formula of amazing battery life. Now i use jelly bean which wastes battery.

No two people will ever have the exact same setup, and even if they miraculously did, the likelihood of their two phones coming out of the factory exactly the same is infinitesimal.
So a ROM that someone else experiences good battery life with, may be terrible for you or me.

Try rootbox with dm kernel. It has pretty good battery, but like previously said every user is different and therefore will have different battery life. It would not surpise me if this gets closed very quickly.
Hi,
I keep on trying various ROMs available. I have noticed that on the same usage pattern 20 hours after a charge stock ROM or stock based ROMS give me around 2 hours to 2.15 hours of screen on time on 3G/2G but if I use AOSP based ROM Omega or earlier the CM it gives me hardly 1.15 hours of screen on time and it dies! Does anybody experience it? Any ways to improve battery life on OMEGA ROM to match it with Sammy ROMS?
I use minimal apps including whatsapp, location on, gmail on push sync, twitter, a little of music max 1 ~1.5 hrs. Also have installed same Kernel Agni with same profiles extreme battery saving or normal-optimized! But still I find so much of difference!
Another thing I have noticed I use 700 mAh charger to charge my phone, it takes around 3 hours on Sammy ROMs but it charges like in 2 or 2.15 hrs on Omega/AOSP based ROMs.
Can anyone help me to understand if you face similar issues? any solutions? any way we can improve battery life on Omega? Please don't tell to turn off location that has hardly helped me!
P.S. Omega ROM version 4.4.2 everywhere! and Sammy ROM 4.3 everywhere!

Hey thanks for reply! I don't want to actually stay on lower frequencies! 1.4GHz max is ok! I wanted to know have you experienced such things with Sammy vs AOKP/AOSP/CM ROMS ? Already s3 is laggiest devices I have >.>

Well i'm technically new here (not in xda, but in the Galaxy S2 Community). I got a i9100 used a couple weeks ago. This was a dream come true for me because, since it was announced, i wanted this phone. And i'm not disappointed of my decision.
For a 4 years old device (a ETERNITY talking in phone years) it is JUST AMAZING. Battery life more than acceptable with the correct ROM, kernel and tweaks. Performance over the average. The only problem with it is the overheating when you use it, but it's not that big of a deal imo.
Now, i'm going to say it. I'm a Flashing maniac i love downloading roms from here to try out. I wish to find a good Lollipop rom (Minimal OS is excellent, but because it's overclocked to 1,4 Ghz battery life shoit itself) by the way
CM13 has bugs that i can't stand (Videos have desync audio, and again... Battery life is shoit... Even with DorimanX Kernel).
But you think it's possible that CM14 comes to our devices? I mean oficially
CM14 is possible, but only time will tell. We faced quite a few challenges with CM13, and CM14 will be no exception. Best ROM will always be stock 4.1.2 in terms of battery life and overall performance. As for custom kernels, I will plan to support sooner than my late efforts in keeping dori kernel alive for MM.
