I think I was using a bad version, I have another problem now, I got into recovery and all that and installed SuperSU, but when I open the app on my app list it says "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"

What is your Hboot and if your HBOOT is jelly bean Hboot which is 1.25.0002 then use Philz recovery
HERE:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2296517
download the jelly bean version then extract the recovery.img from the file you downloaded from the philz recovery page then flash the recovery.img on fast boot and this should fix your recovery problem and for your super su problem you need to find a super su.zip and flash it via recovery but i can't seem to find the super su.zip i did use to have it.
I have found the file once you have a recovery flash this in recovery and it will fix your super su problem

If you put the new binaries files in there then you should share it in the Main Supersu thread it would help alot of people out in that thread

I rooted my Galaxy S2 just now (using this method / The easy root method on galaxys2root.com).
I didn’t install the ClockworkMod Recovery as in the further video on galaxys2root.com as a lot of comments from people were saying that it bricked their phone!!! So I installed ROM MANAGER from the Market (Google Play) and flashed ClockworkMod Recovery from within the ROM Manager app.
When I then did 'reboot into recovery' I got this screen come up... (not my actual screenshot by the way, but I get the same error messages coming up) as it was trying to run the UPDATE.ZIP file.

It also won't let me flash CM9 or any other ROM as it comes up with the same message
What am I doing wrong here? It seems to also say Android System Recovery at the top rather than ClockworkMod Recovery :?
Install cfroot kernel..dats much better..
Just checking now... Thanks
Flash the tar file of cf root or any other custom kernels via Odin, you will get back cwm
#*posted on the move *#
Using the easy zergrush method only gives root and superuser, nothing more.
It doesn't include clockworkmod as zedomax mentioned, but he did make another guide on how to flash clockworkmod.
I tried to flash it via clockworkmod too, but it doesn't seem to work with this method for some reason I although I haven't used it, I think cf-root would be better.

Simple Steps to Root Without PC and Without loss of Stock Kernel
Removed.. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello,
Simple way to root and unroot stock kernel without flashing insecure kernel.
Don't worry about custom counter and yellow triangle, with this method they never appear, because we only rooting, it's a rooting script not a custom kernel.
This rooting script included Busybox installer.
Rooting :
Download this File first and put in your SDCARD
- CWM via stock recovery or download zip
- SU-Busybox-Installer.zip
Reboot to recovery.
Choose apply update from external storage.
Choose CWM.zip and wait until CWM recovery appear.
Choose install zip from sdcard or external SD
Choose and Install SU-Busybox-Installer.zip
Reboot
You are done and now your device is Rooted
Unroot :
Download this File first and put in your SDCARD
- CWM via stock recovery or download zip
- SU-Uninstaller-Signed.zip
Reboot to recovery.
Choose apply update from external storage.
Choose CWM.zip and wait until CWM recovery appear.
Choose install zip from sdcard
Choose and Install SU-Uninstaller-Signed.zip
Reboot
You are done and now your device is Unrooted
Tested on latest stock Galaxy S II ICS rom.
Tested on latest Galaxy Note by some user (thanks for report)
Note: This method should work for other device with ICS rom, check CWM that compatible for your device.
You can download all the zip files from this thread. ROOT/UNROOT ZIP Files
Thanks,

Ah, so you're the one who doesn't care about the xda-rules and allow this kind of questions here by answering them (although this is way more than what OP asked).

hi i managed to update my tab to the latest firmware 4.0.4 . Previously it was already rooted and TWRP installed. I was thinking of rooting and backing up this build so from romtoolbox i boot into recovery mode (thinking that i will be seeing TWRP) But when boot i was shown the folllowing picture

since all of my buttons are not working (hence the reason installing TWRP ) i was ok fine lets reboot it via adb. therefore i run adb reboot and yet it still boots back to the same screen . Thinking i need to reverting all of the changes via odin i tried reboot download also does not work. reboot-bootloader also does not work. apprently i am stuck at this screen.
Right now i only have access to adb and is there any way i can recover from this?
many thanks again
I'm assuming you were running some kind of custom rom with TWRP as your recovery before going to stock ICS. Essentially, flashing stock ICS overwrote the old TWRP.
To fix it, flash in TWRP again (its somewhere in the development section) via Odin.
EDIT: If you can't access download mode... Try push the TWRP .tar file via ADB

the thing is i only root and installed twrp for the sake of backing up since my daughter loves to install application. I've read about pushing / Installing application but that would requires root right? this is my command console like
Right now is there a way to force it to boot into download because thats the only way i see i can fix it (without using physical buttons)
Again many thanks for replying.
I have tried to install twrp 2.7 with Odin, and have not had much luck. I also tried goo manager. But it does not work. When I boot to get into the recovery mode the device goes right to download mode. It is really strange. I know download mode has a different key sequence. I have tried Odin versions 3.4, 3.7, and 3.9. But I still get the same issue. I have tried to find an older version of twrp, but I just can not find it. Does anyone have the link? I also tried to install CW recovery, but Odin does not even recognize the file. What should I do?

RECOVERY 3e Recovery Modded w/ No Verification :highfive:
I have noticed some of you are having issues after installing a new kernel or rom, when you boot into recovery you now have 3e, which does not allow unsigned zips to be flashed. With this version of 3e it has no-verification check, now allowing you to flash whatever you want.
This zip has
1) 3e recovery modified to disable signature checking
2) disables the forced wipe after installing any update.
Click to collapse
Instructions
1)Download and extract the file here
2)Use a terminal emulator or ADB shell and type.. (or you can use Root Explorer or SGSTools to mount system RW)
Code:
mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/stl9 /system
Click to collapse
3)Use a file manager like Root Explorer and copy the recovery file to /system/bin and replace the one there
4)Now, reboot and you should have a modded 3e recovery with no signature verification
You can either leave the modded 3e recovery or you can now flash CWM via Rom Manager
**Just like anything else, I am not responsible if this bricks your phone, this is fairly simple, follow the guide...Do at your own risk**

Great thread. I've extracted 3e recovery from vivo xshot. Can you explain me how disable security check? This phone don't have recovery file in system/bin but I've found a way to open bootloader
Nice App....
The file link is broken.
Hi Jawad Twam,
Very useful. I am also trying the same on my samsung galaxy S5. However, I could not download your recovery file since the link is broken. Can you please upload the file in somewhere and share the link?.
Thanks in adv,
Prakash.
Hi I get a message "operation not permitted" in the terminal emulator after typing the line. How can I fix that?
